Koto Sushi Lounge Ratings and Reviews
It took 25 minutes to get service but the table beside us got food before us and they sat down 15 minutes after us. There was only 2 servers for a large restaurant. I walked by one server and she got offended and told me to" get out of my way". Also the food was terrible.
Their policy is whenever there are 8 people, there would be the 18% charge. Required to pay for 18% service charge with 5 adults and 3 toddlers, even though they are not really servicing/serving the toddlers and the toddlers are not really eating the sushi anyway.
Service was not good. Not sure if it's because the service charge of 18% is fixed already so they had nothing to lose.
Food is still ok, but the portions might be getting a bit small now?
Would go again only with Groupon vouchers.
Everything was good except the tuna/salmon tataki. The wonton outer layer was stale and they shoved a bunch of veggies to make it look like you got lots of tataki
I️ would eat here with a groupon other then that the other 3 star groupon people were pretty spot on.
The food was very good (albeit a bit pricey) but the whole place was jam packed with the downtown lunch crowd, so they really just need more people to staff it. It took a lot of effort to flag someone down for the bill and even more effort to flag down our server to bring the machine. If you're going to cater to the corporate lunch crowd, you need to find a way to streamline things.
Been to Koto numerous times over the last few years and I must say that the portions tonight were truly disappointing. The sashimi and sushi were about 25% smaller with little to no garnish. Restaurant was not busy at 6:30 and orders were slow in arriving to the table. Maybe new chefs?
We went in with a groupon, which should not mean anything but apparently it does because our rolls were MUCH smaller than the table beside us. Isn't the point of groupon to make the customers want to come back because they see value? The prices are VERY high for what you get, sushi for 2 of us was almost 100$ and we only ordered some sashimi and 4 rolls. When it came time to pay, the server left a sticker with "suggested tips" and since we got a discount from the groupon before she handed it to me she pushed the button for dollars so we couldn't leave a percent on a smaller bill. Very rude.
