Kosar's Wood-Fired Grill
We got stuck in traffic on 271 for 90 minutes and called (we were an hour late) but our table was given away even though we called. Someone could have called us. We could have turned around. After stressful traffic we wet me made to feel horrible when we got there. Won’t return. Brussel sprouts were boiled too.
Excellent food and service is top notch. Thank you to our waitress, Elaine, for exceptional service. Even though the restaurant is located in the MGM Northfield Park Casino, it is set up so you are so removed from the noise and people you forget the casino is only steps away. Reservations are recommended and definitely worth it!
Concert at MGM center stage
Excellent food. It was our anniversary so we wanted to go somewhere we had never been before and we were not disappointed. Service was good and food came out in a timely manner. Filet mignon was so tender and had perfect flavor. Salmon was excellent too.
Food was great and the service was even better, everyone should try the 19
We were there on a quiet Monday evening. Very few patrons when we were seated at 6 pm, and only a few more arrived while we were eating. Our waitress said Monday's were quiet unless they had a concert at the casino venue.
Salad bar was small but had a LOT of variety, soup was good, bread basket was good, and our steaks were cooked perfectly and very tasty. Prices are high, but not unusual for that type of steak restaurant. Service was great; waitress was very friendly and helpful.
I am curious how much business they lose because they are inside the casino, which keeps out guests under 21 (or folks with under-age kids).
It’s not bad. Not great. You can add a soup and salad bar for $9. Salad is fresh and soup was excellent just limited selection and hidden in the back. Very strange.
The meat quality is very good but I can’t stand the char grilled burnt flavor it was overwhelming. I had lobster topping which was good but basically no lobster. It was like they drizzled lobster bisque in my filet for $11 extra. At first I was upset why would they drown a steak in sauce but it did mask the burnt flavor.
Not in the top 40 of filets I have had in my life. It’s not on par with the big national steak chains. I had comp so I can’t complain. I would try it again but it’s just slightly above average all around.
We have dined at Kosars many times and always have been pleased. Sunday evening was terrible. We informed the waiter,Jack, that two of the party had show tickets. He said all would be fine. When the meals finally came, 3 of the meals were on the cold side, including my lobster tails. My husband’s prime rib was so tough it was not eatable. The two going to the show( because of time) ate their meals, prime rib was sent back, and another was served, again to tough to eat..Lobster was sent back and was much better and hot. Waiter never came back for wine order, the manager took the order. All of this was discussed with the manager, of course prime rib was removed from bill and received a 20% off the bill. In my opinion not sufficient. Our guests were from out of town, and I was embarrassed. I had recommended Kosars, and was very sorry I had.
Ask to sit in the back of the restaurant. It's very noisy up front. We were there for the Toto concert. We arrived at 6:15 and the concert started at 7:30. We told our waiter, Greg, that we were there for the concert. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks. We waited 40 minutes for our food. Way too long. I didn't get to really eat my Shrimp Scampi because of the lack of time. It was really good too. I was disappointed.
Food was great, service was great, desert was outstanding
Food and atmosphere was great as usual, staff extremely friendly.
We had the most amazing time, the whole experience from start to finish was excellent! Could not have been better. We will be back
Wonderful dinner experience! The only thing that would’ve made it better is if Bernie could’ve been there!
Sea bass was awful
Perhaps it was the timing, 8:15pm reservation on a Saturday night after the show crowd dispersed, but the shrimp pasta dish was cold and needed to be reheated causing the shrimp to be rubbery. Steak was overcooked and was medium well instead of medium, and the colossal baked potato was only slightly warm and seemed to have been baked hours before... This is our first bad experience out of many nice evenings there. Service was good, but the food a total let down this last trip.
Really sorry but have paid much less for much better quality steaks. Two in our party, we had just sat down with our salads when our main entree came out at the same time. Manager took the steaks back and stated they would cook us another when we finished our salads. That was fine with us. Both of us had the prime rib, both steaks had a very tough piece of silver skin running through the middle. Cut around it we did but should not have to make concessions based on the prices charged. Waite staff was great but would not take another chance at these prices.
Server Amanda was excellent. Bread was very good. Filet was overcooked and dry. Baked potato (for 8 dollars) was probably good 2 hours before I got it.....it had turned yellow inside, not white and fluffy as it should have been. Sea bass and lobster my wife had was not memorable. The crab topping was very disappointing. With wine and tip was $250. Not worth it.
Prime Rib was not near worth the price. The Prime rib was stringy and hard to eat. Food was overpriced.
Elaine was fantastic
We had an extremely pleasant evening. The food was outstanding and was only outshined by the staff. We will definitely be back and we have already recommended to friends.
Our server was prompt and attentive. He answered all questions about the meals. I had the sea bass that was cooked to perfection. My wife had the grilled pork chops which was very flavorful and tender. They gave us a piece of cake for our Anniversary. I highly recommend Kosar’s and will return to try other items on the menu.
Great service! Delicious food! Lovely atmosphere! A+
The food was amazing, the service was a little slow but they brought us dessert for being so patient. Overall it was well worth it
Would recommend based on Taste and quality of food. Completely overpriced, however.
We went there for my wife's birthday and I explained that on the online app and it said that she'll receive a piece of cake with "Happy Birthday" scripted in what appears to be a chocolate sauce, that she never received! Started off with Crab Cakes, awesome! My wife ordered Salmon Stuffed with Lobster (with very little stuffing and I ordered Chilean Sea Bass that was surprisingly small for $35 and it was wrapped in overcooked bacon. We both had Ice Tea and finally had to ask a busser to get us a refill, cause our server wasn't to be found until she asked us if we wanted desert (I declined, thinking my wife's piece of cake was on it's way) it never arrived. After I paid our bill, I spoke to a manager about the entire evening and he said, we dropped the ball and will do something for the next time we come back and honestly, we don't think there will be a next time. I actually was talking about this dinner today at work and they too where shocked to hear this story.
Thanks for listening,
Kim & Russ Ogrin
The shrimp cocktail was too waterway like they just thawed them. They should be cold and firm
Salad bar should have a little more variety. And some type of bowls instead of those plates
What a great place! The service and food were awesome!! Our servers were friendly and very knowledgeable with the menu. Our appetizer of chicken wings literally fell off the bone - very flavorful. The New York strip steaks were tender and cooked to order. We definitely will return to try more dishes.
Food was mediocre at best. Way overpriced for lukewarm entree. Service was very good and the place itself was very nice. Think if your going to pay over $35 for a meal plus extras that it should be done as described.
Found the ambience to be nice - fun - but the food was sub par.
The menu descriptions sounded great but what was on the plate did not match.
Very good food and service. I wish they had a small salad to go with the dinner but they only have a salad bar of which is not to my liking.
Food was delicious. You receive a good amount of food... pretzel breadsticks were delicious...
The food was delicious. However, our service, for such an upscale restaurant, was rather disappointing. I would highly recommend the food.
I have to say everything was just fair. For those kinds of prices, the food should have been mouthwatering. Someone else was treating, so I didn't want to spend too much and I did not get a side. I have to say I was still hungry. Portions aren't great and way to pricey to add anything on to your meal.
I won't be going back.
Food quality was excellent. Service was excellent.
our shrimp cocktail was warm. The lobster tail was not seasoned. No butter was served with it. The Brussels sprouts were greasy & terrible. Baked potatoes was hard. The food was terrible. This is he second time. Most likely will not try it again.
Very nice restaurant. Steaks were very good, however one steak was undercooked. This was immediately taken care of. Service was outstanding.
Very good. Just love the BREAD - Pretzels- Soup was great! Salad bar
very tasty! fresh!!!
Birthday dinner for my wife. The steak was excellent. The crab cakes were outstanding. Nice ambiance. And free dining money from the casino. And a delicious complimentary dessert for the birthday girl.
Have loved Kosar’s since it opened. Have dined there frequently. Just too bad they took away the early bird four-course dinner specials. We are not cheap but $8-9 for a side dish is a bit too much and $18-19 for a just okay salad bar is way too much!
We were very impressed with Kosar's. Sure, we went to re-live the glory days of the Brown's (and my fav QB), but the food was outstanding and would be reason enough to go back, all by itself. It is inside of the MGM Casino, so the noise is a little higher than if you were to be at a stand alone steakhouse, but the atmosphere of the restaurant itself, helped to counterbalance the noise. The salad bar is amazingly fresh, and had lots of very good choices, and the soup were hot and tasted great. The bread, and butter went perfectly with the salad, and then we had our entrees. I had the "19", of course, which was a wonderful NY Strip cooked perfectly, and my wife had the stuffed salmon. The sides, risotto for her, and Parmesan fries for me were also amazing. My wife a glass of Riesling, which she enjoyed, and I had a glass of Kosar's Woodford Reserve and a splash of water. It was one of our favorite meals of the year, and we'll definitely go back when we have the time.
