Service was great, food was awesome, can't wait for our next visit! This place rocks!!
Good sushi, but a little pricey. We got 2 rolls and 2 beers for almost $50. Good service. Average age at the restaurant is nearly always about 70.
Service is always prompt and with a smile. Food is delicious. Outstanding for seafood.
Delicious turbot!!! It was the special the night I was there. Yummy!
Wife’s 50th birthday. Service was uncharacteristically slow. Extremely slow.
A group of nine of us went there for a dinner get-together. The service was leisurely, but we were in no rush. The food was outstanding, and everyone left very satisfied. One of our party has some food allergies and the waitress was able to work with her to find several tasty options. For me, I had the crispy grouper, and it was absolutely delicious. Plus it came out hot, which is often tricky for that large of a group. Be aware that it's a little on the pricey end -- about $75 per person, which included some shared appetizers, entrée, a couple of drinks, plus tip and tax. Worth it to me and the gang I was with, but maybe not in everyone's ballpark. Overall, highly recommended. And if you want to stay after dinner going next door to the bar is easy and fun.
Fish is good, but why do the waitstaff always make us feel like they are annoyed at having to wait on us? The prices charged do not match the quality of service provided.
We love this place & look forward to coming back very soon! An absolute go to place!
Wonderful as always!
We have dined here many times. Tonight Sean was our server, he was new and just awesome. Sean said he liked working at Kona Jacks and he was very enthusiastic. We joked and chatted with Sean during our dinner. I always start with the shrimp cocktail, it’s tasty. We also tried the clam chowder, it was dynamite! Hot and flavorful, not a grain of sand ( other restaurants) the bread is also good. This night I tried the stuffed shrimp, my new favorite. It’s a good spot with lots of parking and a live feel.
Fresh fish selections and sushi are always good at Kona Jack's. The miso soup is a generous bowl with a rich flavor.
Very nice place and wait staff. Good for business meetings. Excellent food
Absolutely the tastiest sea bass ever! It was delicious as was everything else - especially the clam chowder and homemade bread with macadamia nut butter. Our servers, Dani and sorry I can't remember the other young lady's name, were outstanding. We highly recommend Kona Jack's to anyone who loves seafood.
Awesome! Great suggestions from the waiter!
Poor service with unfriendly waiter. Didn’t like one of the meals so the server just took it from me and still charged full price. No offer to replace or manager to check on us.
So I picked this on a whim. The food here was pretty good. A little pricey but worth the money you spend. Flavors are good, aesthetic is kind of weird but not enough to be offputting. From my experience, the only complaints I have are that our server kind of had this "I don't wanna be here" attitude and dropped the ball at the end of service. My other complaint is that we got dessert and it actually took away from the meal. My father's cheesecake tasted stale, my chocolate cheesecake was unimpressive and my wifes dessert which was cake with ice cream or something like that was also just underwhelming. Our server did recommend the desserts that were homemade on the menu we all went against that, but I wonder would they have been any better than what we ordered? And if they don't make all the desserts there, why bother putting up the ones not made in-house? Overall, good seafood, just maybe skip the dessert.
Kona Jack's is always a reliable neighborhood restaurant for seafood and a good atmosphere. It's not a chain (a plus for me), and the fish is usually fresh and delicious.
The food was mediocre. No rice with the gumbo and the ribeye was well done. Fish and chips were good.
Waiter seemed in a hurry to get done with us. Brought my guest decaf refill, no regular coffee refill for me so I told just give me decaf. And that is exactly what he did with no offer to go get me caf coffee.
I really like this place. This time though, I got the deep fried catfish and it was not cooked long enough. I did not send it back because it took a while for us to get our food in the
Date night with wife and son. The best thing during Lenten season.
This restaurant has excellent fish prepared perfectly, however, the decor is very dated and the menu has not changed in years. All the entrees are accompanied by the same tired sides- the fish is the only standout. they have a great seafood product but the restaurant is long overdue for a facelift and an update to the menu!
Great as always, never disappoints. Jenna was our server and she was outstanding, she even remembered us from a prior visit. Kona Jacks and Daddy Jacks are the best and a must visit. We eat here at least twice a month and never gets old, but we are creatures of habit.
Nice Lenten sushi meal for our family. Great service.
Always enjoy Kona Jack’s. Fish is always fresh and prepared very well!
An enjoyable time; I’ll be back!
Delicious food with many good choices. Our waitress was excellent.
Calamari: thick and meaty! Other restaurants have thin, heavily battered, rubbery calamari
Crab cakes: a little small, but still perfect
Grouper: their top seller 3x over for good reason
Mexican roll: fantastic! A great recommendation from Marty!
Superb good & wonderful service!
It was fantastic from start to finish! They had a wonderful Valentines menu, which was delicious, and our server Sindi was outstanding. We were unfortunately late, and stayed after the closing time but they never rushed us and made our evening very special. We will definitely be back.
Dinner was fabulous! The atmosphere is beautiful with lots of fish tanks. Staff is friendly and professional.
Good time! Nice place! Rolls were well priced. Entrees a bit high. We will be back.
Great value; one of our favorites steak or seafood.
1st time at Kona Jacks and I will be back. Food and service was great. There are plenty of food options on the menu, and I decided to try the swordfish. We also tried Sushi and we loved the freshness of everything we ate.
Great food as usual.
Excellent waiter... made the experience very good. Prices were a bit high for the quality of Sushi we had, but we would return. Several of the Sushi rolls we had with our group were deconstructed. Very interesting way to serve the dish. Hoosier roll and Spyder rolls were our favorites. Plum wine was $29 for a bottle... it’s a $6.50 per bottle wine. Good, but overpriced. We’d return though.
Kona never fails to please. Great seafood, great service & conveniently located.
Seafood lovers: get in your car now and drive to Kona Jack’s! You won’t be disappointed! Absolutely delicious! Each dish was creative, flavorful, unique, and filling! I especially loved the lalo miso soup: their take on the classic miso soup. It was inspired. I could go back just for that. It is a must-order. The herb bread they serve with macadamia nut butter is to die for. With the combination of the butter it is like pesto in bread form. Definitely get the lemon glaze cake for dessert! It is unassuming at first, but at first bite, you will taste such sweet, moist cake that will widen your eyes and curve your lips into the biggest smile. The service was absolutely extraordinary! Our server was patient, knowledgeable, responsive, and had absolutely perfect timing with check-ins and refills. The only things I’d say that were the slightest negative is the pot stickers were just a tiny bit over-fried and some of the fountain drinks were slightly flat. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone who likes seafood!!
Kona Jack's is one of my favorite place to go. Their clam chowder is the best I have found in Indy. Service is always quick, easy to work with and very accommodating. Whether you are having a night out with the someone special or have a crowed of friends, Kona Jacks is a great place to go.
Always great food and service
