Kona Jack's Fish Market & Sushi Bar

Scallops were sautéed: large, delicious and quite fresh. The rice accompanying them was plain and unseasoned. A pilaf would be better. The dining area in front was a bit noisy.

It was a Saturday night and we had a 5pm reservation. Not but one table was seated, two people at the bar and a few people in the sushi bar. The rolls were just okay, my meal however was not good. Got the bugs and pasta, it’s a Cajun crawfish dish. I thought the taste was off, maybe too fishy. But I kept trying more lemon then would take another small piece. There wasn’t any seasoning and I had to stop when the crawfish made me gag. Something was really off. The best thing was the bread they served.

Always consistent for great food and service. Have been customers of Daddy and Kona Jacks for twenty years and have never been disappointed!

I keep hoping that they come back to the restaurant they were 20 years ago. We sat in the sushi bar and it was so loud we couldn't talk. Side salad was mediocre at best and swordfish just so so. Friends had rare Ahi Tuna and raved. wish they would go back to the old rice pilaf, they have gone on the cheap with that too. I will go back one more time and hope for the best.

Food was great and service was on point. Shannon and Marty took good care of us and answered all the questions we had. We look forward to the next visit.

The New Zealand King Salmon is the BEST I have ever eaten. Very consistent too ... always prepared properly ... very moist, extremely flavorful. The freshest Salmon you will ever eat.

I love you Caesar Salad with salmon but the petite is too small and the large too small. How about making the petite just a little bigger

We've been going to Kona Jack's now for years. It has been one of our fav restaurants and the food is usually wonderful. This time, things just weren't quite up to par. Perhaps the kitchen had an off night. The walleye was dry and tough and didn't have that buttery taste is usually has. Typically soup or salad comes with the meal and you get two sides. I was told my salad would serve as one of my sides. So that was a change I didn't expect. My husband said his calamario salad is usually dressed in a delicious, and plentiful sauce, but he felt the sauce was on the light side, and his calamarios were tough.
We will go back for sure, as we're hoping it was just one of those nights, and we won't let one disappointing evening ruin a wonderful tradition of dining at Kona's!

Kona Jack's is a pleasant, reliable place to eat. I have been eating there since 1997 and I have never been disappointed. The food and service are reliably good.

I asked for grilled shrimp but I think the just sautéed it.

Love sitting in the Sushi bar. Server was very attentive and food was wonderful as always.

The only negative was our server. She was very slow in getting to us for drink orders, got one wrong. Took forever for her to return to take our dinner order. Never returned to see if we wanted another drink. We weren’t offered water so for the last half of our dinner we had nothing to drink. Very unusual lack of service.

I always like Kona Jack's. We went at 11:15 this time, and it was pleasantly quiet until noon. Then the conversation level increased, but it was still a fine place to be. I have never been disappointed in more any 20 years of eating at Kona Jack's.

We never knew how tremendous fresh seafood is. Apparently we thought was fresh wasnt. The atmosphere was comfy and the service was great. We had wonderful attention, but not hovering. We chose Kona Jack's for our 36 anniversary dinner and will be back just for fun.

We think this is the best seafood restaurant in town. We both had the Walleye and it is done perfectly. We also had sushi in the form of spider rolls which were excellent. Highly recommend for seafood.

WE have been going to Kona Jack's for years. WE think their food is the best and it is our go-to restaurant when we want fish.

There were four of us, and each of us liked our entree (fish selections) very much. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful in describing entrees and drinks available. We enjoyed the whole experience a lot. Thank you for a nice evening. We will return!!

Sushi was great, we always order the Calamari! Marty was great as usual!

Always a favorite as we get excellent service and get in and out ion an efficient manner without feeling rushed.

This was my first time trying sushi, and I would go again. Our server was helpful and dinner was good, enough choices to satisfy.

The king crab legs were so good. Their menu has a great variety and I even heard that on Friday evenings sometimes they might have lake perch which is a real treat.

The food was very good and the service was fine. It was very noisy and hard to converse. Given that we had, and twice confirmed, our reservations, I think we could have been given a better location instead of right by the kitchen.

Haven't been there for a while and had a delicious meal. I had grouper and my husband had the walleye. Both were very good and thought the service was just right. Will definitely be back soon.
