Kona Grill - Troy Ratings and Reviews
When the kitchen runs out of mashed potatoes, which is the side dish for many non-seafood entrees and you don't receive a discount? At 8:00PM on a Saturday? We only learned of the situation after waiting almost 30 minutes for our meals in the first place....
I really liked that we were able to be seated in a booth on a Saturday night, and I'm also a fan of dim lighting! I understand it was a busy night, and that this was no fault of the waitress, but the service was rough. She was super sweet and apologetic but we were brought the wrong app, had to remind the waitress to get our drinks, and were ready to order for 20 minutes before managing to do so. Also there were two different people serving us and taking down what we wanted which I can understand due to being busy (but honestly.... they were not that busy lol), but it got confusing because of the wrong order/missing drinks and what not. The food was good but not spectacular, so overall I'd say it was good and I'd recommend it-- but wouldn't put it at the top of your list.
I received an email that special menu items were available for 3 days around Valentines day. Our wedding anniversary is the 15th, so I was very excited to make a reservation and try the new dishes. Unfortunately, they had sold out of everything the night before. We were very happy with the sushi rolls, but disappointed in the regular menu entrees we ordered. The steaks, while good quality, were bland. I love Brussel sprouts, but these were mushy and without flavor. We will stick to the sushi if we come again. Service was great and our food arrived quickly.
It wasn't the servers fault, but it was slow! Slow for beverages and especially food. Manager came by to apologize and offer free desserts, but we are dieting, so no thanks! We booked a reservation through Open TAble and got seated right away, it went down hill from there.
Sushi was average. I had the filet, medium rare. It was cooked to my liking, however it was extremely salty. I would not order steak again from Kona. My girlfriend got the macadamien chicken and she loved it. I also tried it and thought it was very good. The service was good, nice atmosphere, and we got seating exactly at our reservation time. I would possibly try kona again.
Food was awesome (pot stickers, pan seared tuna, glazed salmon and oriental salad). Our server, James, was the best. Drinks, Cosmo 75, were excellent too. Great dining experience every time we’re at Kona Grill. As a side note, the manager handled a problem with a dining coupon (not their fault) promptly and professionally. Excellent customer service.
The 2 people who serve us was very nice, attentive and answered all our questions
We enjoyed our time , we were able to taste experience the different style of Japanese appetizers
And some of the American style food
Mostly good some nothing special so I gave a 4
The sushi not sure if it’s because it’s the special we were told 6-8 pieces but it’s only 5
So not sure if that is a difference with traditional and special sushi
Overall it’s always nice to experience new restaurants
The desserts were awesome The raspberry butter cake and carrot cake
