Kona Grill - Troy Ratings and Reviews
The 2 people who serve us was very nice, attentive and answered all our questions
We enjoyed our time , we were able to taste experience the different style of Japanese appetizers
And some of the American style food
Mostly good some nothing special so I gave a 4
The sushi not sure if it’s because it’s the special we were told 6-8 pieces but it’s only 5
So not sure if that is a difference with traditional and special sushi
Overall it’s always nice to experience new restaurants
The desserts were awesome The raspberry butter cake and carrot cake
The server was very attentive and helpful. She explained the menu and items that we were not familiar with. There was one downside, she suggested a specialty instead of the item that I was going to order and I did not care for it. My bad, I should have stayed with my choice. The Sushi was great with good portions.
We come here a few times a year and always on NYE. Our server was OK, just seemed disinterested in us overall.... which was noticeable. We ordered 4 different specialty sushi rolls. Usually the sushi is good- but very flavorless this time around. And please bring back the volcano roll!!
Truly disappointing experience. I have been looking forward to going, and we drove the one hour to get there. Upon arrival it is in a great location, very nice place and good ambiance. Upon arrival, it was still happy hour and they have have excellent prices for happy hour (alcohol and food) and the place was packed. The disappointment was the food and service. We had multiple servers and one left us when another clocked in yet we had no personalization of service just random people dropping off items. I ordered two rolls, my wife one and we had a bbq chicken flat bread. The flatbread was so hot/spicy it could not be eaten and had to be sent back. This coming from a family that places hot sauces in most everything. The sushi was fine, the lobster roll for $15 was awful. It was without texture and was so chewy it was hard to tolerate. You could see the fat in the tuna across and the lobster was just so chewy I couldn’t eat it. It was not offered for an exchange. The philly roll for my wife was good and priced at $5 for happy hour. Overall and $75 later, we left and was incredibly disappointed. Really need to work on the service and the food. Perhaps it was just from being crowed and happy hour, but for us and our 50 mike drive it was very disappointing.
Bad experience. It took 45 minutes to get food, and even when we got our food one of our entrees was raw (beef sliders). It took another 10 minutes to flag down our server to get a replacement order. Then another 30 minutes to get the fresh sliders. At no point did our server apologize or attempt to make the situation right, very unprofessional.
The food was very good-sushi, burgers, Cuban sandwich, appetizers . The carrot cake was enormous!! Our waitress was excellent-very attentive. Wine and beers were enjoyed. I’d say that everything on the menu was fairly priced and a good amount of well-prepared food. My only complaint was that we sat directly under the speaker; we felt like we had to yell over the music. Will certainly return.
The reservation was exactly as you would expect. The table was ready within minutes of us showing up. Service was good...the food took longer than expected, but our waiter was the one who was concerned with that (we never mentioned anything, or complained). He got the manager involved, who bought a round of drinks for us. The food came and it was delicious! I would definitely go back.
We were unaware that the Restaurant closed at six when I made the reservation. When I caught wind of that, I was almost positive that we would get rushed service. I am pleasantly surprised to say that it wasn’t the case at all. Our server, Jessica, was kind, gracious and on top of things. The food was excellent, as per usual. Kona Grill is definitely one of my “go-to” places
I arrive 45 minutes early for the reservation and the restaurant was packed. The hostess informed me that it would be closer to the reservation time (as expected) and invited me to the bar area for a cocktail. The bar was bustling and it took me about 10 minutes to get a seat while I waited on the rest of my party. I ordered my drink and before I could even take a sip of it the hostess informed me the table was ready (about 30 minutes early), which I really appreciated. The party arrived and the waiter was very attentive to getting drink orders right off the bat to get us started. Several people at the table ordered the Macadamian Nut Chicken and raved about it. That was my personal order and I have to say it was very tender and the potatoes and vegetables were cooked to perfection. The waiter was attentive to the whole tables needs and very talkative with great suggestions. I really enjoyed the experience. My only complaint about this restaurant is the noise level. I found myself raising my voice to be heard at the other end of the table. It was difficult to hear as well...so don’t take your near deaf grandma and expect to have meaningful conversation unless your sitting right next to her! All in all it was a great experience and I would definitively go back.
