    We were looking forward to Kona Grill, but disappointed on multiple levels. The menu looked amazing. The double burger did not disappoint. However, our table ordered two double burgers, the Asian salad with chicken added and pad thai. All of our food arrived, except one of the burger entrees. The server apologized and went to check to see where it was. He came back and said he had only entered one burger. Our guest encouraged us to start without her. As it turned out, we were all done before her burger even made it to the table (it took about 20 minutes). There was no check back in between the delivery of one burger and the next. The server apologized, but did not offer a comp (not even a drink). So we watched our guest eat alone. The bill was also a challenge. We previously told the server how we wanted to divide the check. It all came on one bill. We asked him to divide it, indicating who ordered what. There was also an issue with the bill not being divided correctly. Rather than send it back, we just paid. At the end of the day, I am not sure if the server was overwhelmed, or if the kitchen was slow, or where our meal went so wrong. Bottom line - it was a large disappointment.

    Food was good as usual. Waiter was beyond amazing. However, the music is extremely loud in outdoor seating area. Our group had to practically shout at each other to be heard. Waiter apologized several times and said they are not able to adjust music volume. It was unacceptable and ruined our get together.

    Amazing from beginning to end! This was our first trip to the Scottsdale area and this was our first meal in such a gorgeous mall! Thank you Kona Grill for amazing food and an amazing dinner!

    The waiter really struggled. It took forever for the waiter to greet us. Multiple aspects of the order were wrong; another waiter helped correct them. The waiter seemed high or hung over. Mashed potatoes were on the cold/stiff side. The last two visits to this location have been pretty bad, the one in Gilbert is much better. We probably won’t return.

    The menu had changed since our last visit and was now priced very high for the type of food and the quantities served. The background music was very loud and the bass totally loud, head banging bass, and, in my opinion, the music was not appropriate for the type of customers in the restaurant. Our server was very nice, but not very efficient.

    Don’t go here. They took us to a dirty table and left us standing for an extended period of time. Then the waiter was rude and the edamame was bathed in salt. Finally the rainbow roll had some hard in it which was either was glass or plastic. I won’t be going back.

    I’m a Phoenix local and I had never eaten here before, always walked by it. Was trying to find a dinner in scottsdale that wasn’t super packed on a Saturday night — looked at the menu and Kona had plenty of food & drink options. I would definitely go there again! We got the poke bowl (which I asked to be gluten free, and they accommodated me) and fish & chips, both were great.

    The steak was good. The "pad thai" was a mistake. I realized after I got it that it contained soy (which contains allergens; I have many allergies). It did not taste like pad thai. Kona's version is inedible. Also, the menu lists the first ingredient as chicken. It arrived with no chicken. I asked for the chicken and it arrived with bits of old crusty stuff and dots of unknown material on it. I sent it back and they gave me fresh chicken with no crusty bits. Much better but we should not have had to go through all that since the first ingredient in writing on the menu is chicken! I am happy to report that the music was a moderate level and my son and I were able to carry on a conversation without being drowned out and having out ears injured by loud music. The other problem was the buzzing insects attacking our food. This is the second time we have had an insect problem. You need to get rid of the insects (I believe they were gnats). That's just nasty and unsanitary. I strongly recommend using nontoxic products such as essential oils. In Los Angeles, I hired a company that used only natural essential oils to get rid of ants, black widow spiders and some kind of tree insect that got in the apartments and left stains on the walls. It got rid of all of them! And for a reasonable price.

    The construction was a mess and restaurant has gone downhill drastically since I was there several years ago. Our waiter was the highlight of our visit. Food was very basic and not very impressive

    Food was excellent. I had the poke bowl, shrimp tacos and chicken pad Thai. Everything was tasty and service was impeccable, as well. Great ambiance near the sushi bar with the fish tank too.

    Went for lunch - first time visit. Overall food was very good, we had a couple of rolls, sashimi, fried rice and edamame. Each were flavorful and fresh. That was the strong suit. The interior seems outdated and tired. Not the fault of Kona, but currently you look out into a construction zone which is not appealing. Service was meh. Food came out promptly but waiter brought wrong drink , forgot to bring a requested extra plate and generally was absent Last is the price. Just not worth what you have to pay. Wasn’t paying attention and ordered edamame. Delicious, but $15!!!! That is just outrageous. I felt like a fool. Hopefully they can refresh the place and adjust prices on certain items

    Although the food ordered was very good indeed, (many compliments to wonderful Chef Rob), the highlight of this first date dinner experience was our server Shayne! What a treasure this guy is for sure! Upbeat, informative, and just a very genuine person! I bet all of Hawaii, is missing Shayne, since that is where he is from! Thank you so much Shayne, for making a first date experience very relaxing and amazing! We appreciate you going above and beyond.

    This was our first time eating at Kona Grill. We wanted to try the restaurant week menu and all 4 of us enjoyed the choices available for each course, portion sizes (huge!) and preparation of each meal and ability to make slight adjustments if needed for restrictions to diet. Our server, Shane, was exceptionally friendly, very knowledgeable on menu and a great server! He checked in on us, made sure we liked each course and just a seemed easy going yet very aware that we have a good experience. He helped to make the entire evening top notch! We will be back.

    The restaurant is near a part of the mall that is being renovated so there was noise from the open area of the walls, understandable. The food was good, but expensive for what we were served. The service was poor, very slow. We finally walked our ticket and payment to the server on our way out.

    We had never been to Kona Grill before. Desiree was our server. She was very attentive and explained the menu. Well, the food was excellent. There is a major remodel going on. We were not aware of it. It didn’t affect where we were dining at but the approach was weird.

    Server Tyler was great, very helpful. Only one thing I would change. I asked for iced tea to go and he brought a cup of Lipton Tea. I know the taste of it (not great). You menu says you have "rotating selections." Tyler did not say anything about the selections, only that there was a huge pot of tea that gets thrown out at the end of the night. It was unsatisfying. I request a better selection of "rotating selections" and make sure all servers know what they are. Also, at the beginning, the music was thundering loudly with way too much drums. I asked for it to be turned down and was told the DJ said no. This is unacceptable. It was causing me a headache. Later the style of music changed to something more tolerable and pleasant, not headache producing. I suggest a new DJ. Your customers are always right, remember.

    Didn’t know what to expect from a Mall restaurant, but would definitely recommend. We started with edamame, which is served Traditional or Angry. We weren’t daring enough to choose Angry, so we opted for Traditional, which was good - lightly salted. My mother enjoyed the Miso Sake Chilean Sea Bass. It is served with Bok Choy, but she substituted fried rice. I enjoyed the Shrimp Tacos (3). The shrimp are sautéed in Angry butter, which gives them a little bite. Thought is also given to presentation. We were seated next to the large cylindrical fish tank, which added to the ambience. It was a very pleasant experience.
