Every single thing was screwed up. From drink orders, seated without menus, comped drinks were even wrong. The waiter asked our order about 3 or 4 times and then everyone’s food (incorrect orders) were brought out at different times and one order never did come even though the waiter promised it was 2 minutes out (multiple times). The manager coined this “a few hiccups”. Yikes!
not sure what the issue or problem was but i was very disappointed - especially after seeing the wonderful reviews.
Our appetizers came out together - however our dinners were a different story. my dinner came out - i had the pad thai and the others - 3 - all got sushi rolls. it was a minimum of 30-45 minutes from the time my food was delivered to when theirs was. we were their to celebrate my husbands birthday and to be honest i was really disappointed.
Very good experience, all employees were following proper guidelines for Social Distancing and masks. Great service and waiter was terrific.
Had a party of 6, we had the option to sit inside or out. Food was good.

I didn’t like my experience, went there on a Sunday evening and I usually get mint leaves in my water the waitress came back with dead mint leaves and said because it was late in the evening that’s all they had...I should’ve taken a picture.
Service was bad. Was like they didn't understand the order to bring the food. Main course came before appetizers and salad. Wait staff didn't understand how to ring up the Restaurant Weeks Pre-Fix menu's. When main course was returned and brought back, it was cold. Was very disappointed. Need management, training and how to serve customers. Horrible experience.
Put us in the Bar area and we had a reservation. Waitress was super Unhelpful. Asked price of a sake and she said she didn’t know. Didn’t offer to check. Very odd. Didn’t listen to anything we ordered. Would not come back
The place needs revamping. The restaurant week menu was missing the main entry we came for. Cushions on the seats are worn out.

OK, since you're asking...the service was extremely slow and chaotic. Even though the dining area was pretty deserted, I think there were maybe 15 customers, and at least 5 servers, everything took Forever to arrive...in our case, warm beer, very late apps and entrees. Our pitiable server, Angel, bless her heart...she was maybe having a bad/or first day? She couldn't keep anything straight, wrong orders, everything tasted fine but it was like pulling teeth to get it.

Seemed like they were short staffed, or over-sat the area we were in. Had more hosts than wait staff. Ordered and then our waitress said they were out of some items, no big deal. Then our food came out, except for my wife’s. Restaurant also seemed a little tired. I get it’s COVID era, but seemed even off from that
We sat on the patio and with the misters it was the perfect temp. Food and service where very good as well.
It had been a long time since we ate at Kona Grill, and now we are wondering why? My almond crusted chicken with mashed potatoes was delicious!

Server was friendly but wouldn’t serve my 21 year old daughter even after we showed her ID. Never seen that before in my life. Food was ok and steaks were both well done when we asked for med and med rare. Wouldn’t go back
I very much enjoyed my salmon dinner and the accompanying fried rice and brussel sprouts! Delicious, flavorful, and tasty! The dining room is a calm and peaceful environment. The aquarium is beautiful at the dining room entrance, which adds a pleasant aesthetic and peaceful feel to the dining room as you enter the establishment from the hostess stand.
Waiter was very sweet but very unprofessional and not skilled. For example, didn’t have her mask covering her nose, brought out dessert BEFORE our entree came, etc.

The menu and style of cooking food has changed. This used to be my grandsons favorite place to eat. He is 15 and really didn’t enjoy food this time. We had pot stickers, that the meat was different not the same as before, edamame (which everyone enjoyed), Las Vegas rolls, shrimp rolls. My other grandson who is 3, had the kids menu pizza, it was very good, we ordered the flat bread pepperoni, it was good but crust was better on childs pizza.( the child’s was cooked more crispy). I had seaweed salad an it was good. For dessert we ordered carrot cake and the coconut rum. Carrot cake was ok, but did not care for the coconut. The coconut was packaged to go, don’t know if it would have been better if we had eaten there. Did not care for flavor of the sauces and was a bit dry. My 3 year old had vanilla ice cream for dessert and didnt share or leave anything in the bowl.
Although, we didn’t care for the food as much, the service especially our server was very good.
I came for my birthday, my friends and I ordered rolls. They were quite small and not really tasty. Also, price is too high for them. In general, it wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t recommend it, especially for birthday..
P.S. I made reservation through the opentable and 4h before I called to check if everything’s ok, so they told me there was no reservation on my name and they never do it online... I don’t know who’s fault is it, but just be careful.
Quality of food has gone down since I last visited here. The same salad that I always order was made differently (even different from the menu description). Service was extremely slow, even though it was an "off" time and not busy at all. Disappointed that experience was not what I'm used to at Kona Grill, nor what I expected.
There was an issue with regards to what hostess station we needed to check in with. Patio/Dine. I did not care, just wanted seat. Our food took 45 minutes after we ordered. 2 salads and both were wrong. Manager did remove one salad due to the multiple issues. The waitress was very good trying to make up for the multiple issues.
This was our first time to dine in at a restaurant since things started opening up again. The food was good and the service great. We ordered sushi from a limited menu, and while it tasted good, they were out of soy paper and the rolls were falling apart. Guessing they don't have their usual sushi chefs working. It was understandable given the circumstances, and we still enjoyed our food.
Our first meal out since the health situation our world is facing, and it was lovely. Our server Rose was great and took every step she could to keep us safe. The food was delicious and the restaurant felt safe and was extremely sanitary. We will be back for sure!

Amy our server was great. The food was wonderful and my wife’s favorite is the Asian salad. The specials and sushi were delicious. Since the one in Lincolnshire ,IL closed , We were happy to find the one in Scottsdale,AZ on our winter trip. We also liked the design of this restaurant with two levels . Kona has always been one of our favorite restaurants. We hope you will be able to open one in the future in our area.

Maybe it’s because Valentines day, the servers were seemed very rushed.
There were several empty tables and honestly it didn’t seem that busy compare to usual, our server and others seemed very rushed and it made us feel rushed too.
The Low sodium soy sauce was very dirty, and they spill the water all over our menu when they refilled our water and even didn’t say anything.
The music was annoyingly loud.

The Kona Chopped Salad I had was very nicely prepared. I opted for the Lemon Dressing which had an excellent flavor. My wife really enjoyed the Calamari and our guests thought the Snapper was excellent. We had Carrot Cake for dessert and it was huge! The flavor and moistness was very good, as was the cream cheese frosting. Our table was in the rear of the front section and was quite nice as the noise level and lighting were both good.

Food was mediocre and overly priced.
In spite of having made a reservation, we were seated right next to the door to the open mall, which was freezing. We asked to be moved, which the hostess finally and most reluctantly did ( there were plenty of open tables). Everything we ordered on the menu was very hot (i.e. spicy). The waitress was very good, however.

Sat at the sushi bar and the chefs were eating their own dinner behind the bar. Brutal.
This place is like all chain restaurants, you get basic service and dont get lots of expectations.
Sushi took 30 minutes
Times for dishes where all over the place, they brought soup with the main dish and appetizers at last.
I means according to me should be:

3- main dish

Manager was overwhelmed even that the dinning room was pretty empty. Soup served with coffee spoon .
Chase the waiters if you need something because they wont pay attention to you or your glass for refills.

Oh yeah and that disgusting standard action that every cheap please does, bring the check when you have not even finish eating with the unforgettable “heres the check, no hurry at all” yeahhh sure.
Excellent as I expected it would be. One of my favorite restaurants! The barbecue is wonderful and the sweet potato fries are crispy and delicious. A special touch is the divinely sweet Hawaii rolls that are a rare contrast to the barbecue sauce. I did notice, however, that the barbecued pork sandwich, which was served on a roll the first time I dined at Kona Grill - is now on the menu as four sliders - served on smaller rolls, with less meat on them. Too bad, but will not stop me from ordering this dish again, and asking for a bit more meat!
