   Service has changed since Covid and the happy hour menu changed a few years ago. It’s been enough complaints and time that should give the owners advise to switch menu.

   Good place for mixed drinks but my beer was not cold enough. Service was good but bar food (burgers and sandwiches) was overpriced. We sat on the patio which wasn’t spectacular. I would recommend for a nice date but not for casual dining.

   Food was just okay. Nothing special. Atmosphere on the Friday evening was somewhat busy but very loud in the restaurant between the people and the very loud music playing over the speakers. It was very difficult to talk to anyone at out table of 7 people.

   The overall vibe was very mediocre. The food was okay, but not great. At one point, a guy at the bar watching what we think was a game yelled MF at the top of his lungs and that was enough for us to never go back.

   Too expensive for the service and the food (quality and quantity) we did a reservation and we got a table in the very back of the patio area with an extra chair. We were celebrating my daughters birthday and they charge for the cake and just bring to little candles. They bring one roll and the rest of the food after almost 10 minutes. I’m not planning to go back.

    The waitress was friendly and fast on our margaritas and appetizers, we placed our dinner right away. My daughter dinner and wife’s burger was flavorful meatballs for appetizer 50/50 was to dry my son ordered the 12oz NYS and was perfect cook to medium unfortunately didn’t have any flavor it took about 3-5 minutes for the waitress to asknif we need anything we ask for salt, pepper and ketchup for the burger to add flavor to the stak when we finish eating the waitress ask if we need anything else I said yes my salad lol. They forgot my salad she apologized and removed from the tap. We ordered desert and was great. First time and last.

    Overall a great experience. Wanted to try a new place with a friend and in the mood for seafood. The avocado egg rolls were unique and tasty (the dipping sauce had a sweetness to it that was surprising but very good). We each had a sushi roll and shared a side of pineapple fried rice. We enjoyed everything we ate. Service was on point and the ambience was open and welcoming, perhaps a tad on the loud side but that’s due to the number of people in the large open space. The only down side was my Mai Tai - I’m used to them being sweeter and this one was very lime forward. Not bad, but not to my tastes. We’ll definitely be coming back.

    Service was great, food was very good as always, however, portion size diminished by a LOT and prices went up by a LOT!!! I can understand one or the other @ this point, but NOT both!!! Talking about $29 lunch portion… not too many people can afford such expensive lunch…🥴

    Very long wait to be seen by server. Server was not aware of promotion being advertised at the front door. Drink order wrong. Food way over priced. 20 dollars for some a few donuts. Took forever for food and drinks to arrive. Server spilled drink and while I was mopping it up he just stood there and kept apologizing while I was cleaning it up. Took forever to bring more rags to clean. We waited so long to order, and for anything to arrive, by the time the donuts and drinks came out, we had to leave, otherwise we were going to miss our movie. We had a similar experience a few years ago on Christmas. After waiting to be seen by anyone for like 30 minutes and waiting more than an hour for food, the manager explained that they were short staffed. The same manager sat us when we came in and didn’t let us know. So we stayed away for 2+ years. And in that time, nothing seems to have changed. The donuts were good though… not sure if 20 dollar good, but they were tasty.

    We ordered the lemongrass soup, the calamari, the Macadamia nut breaded chicken, the Chilean sea bass, and the butter bread dessert. The soup was tasty but the clams were too tiny. The Chilean sea bass was a disaster, the fish lacked flavor and the bok choy was overcooked. The service was a delight as our server was attentive. The most egregious thing about the experience was the table machine. I used it to play a game and was charged a fee, but there was not notice or alert informing me I would be charged.

    The food is really very delicious and well done. I had the sea bass and my husband had 2 sushi rolls. The sea bass came with a delicious side of baby bok choy. The sea bass was fresh and light the sushi was excellent! Service was quick and attentive to begin with and less so as the dinner went on. As soon as we ordered carrot cake to go service stopped. I think we waited about 20 minutes and had to ask one of the servers if it was ready. Hint - when paying we realized we should use the small pad at the table, although we were never told to do so. All in all a nice dinner out. Recommend trying them out because the food is great!

    1st off I made reservations there a head of time to surprise my wife for our Valentines date. Well it became more of a Horror story. As I stated we made reservations still had to wait for a table to be seated. On my "special request " you guys offer, I asked for a great sitting area with good view of the place. Well we get seated in a dark corner of the restaurant. 2nd my wife had to get up go to the host and ask for a server because we had been seated for 15 mins and NO ONE CARED TO ASK if we needed help. 3rd I got my food welllll my wife didn't get her bowl until an HOUR later. (Check the cameras) ands that because we asked to talk to the manager or who knows how much longer it would of taken. Our server wasn't the best. We asked for waters when he first came to table, he didn't bring them unit 20 mins later. Place wasn't crazy busy either there was no waiting line or nothing. To top it off we still had to pay for our dreadful experience. Not what I expected at ALL coming to a "nice" restaurant like this. I drove all the way from Royce City to have a pleasant evening. But It turned out to be more of waste of gas.

    I had a reservation for 7pm, they were unprepared to seat us for the reservation. The hostess shrugged her shoulders and stated that it was busy…as a reason of why they had a hard time accommodating us. The dinning experience was very disappointing. The server did not consistently check on us. We had to constantly ask the server to refill our water glasses. We ordered sushi and two glazed salmon dishes for our meal. The salmon dishes came out first and mine was missing the sauce topping for the salmon. We reported it to the server, yet the sauce never came. To top things off, our sushi order was delivered to another table. We have finished the salmon dish before the sushi ever made it to us. This was one of the worst dining service experiences I have had. I do not recommend this place and will not be returning.

    The overall experience was horrible especially for a Valentine’s Day. The menu was limited and for some crazy reason they took the filet off the menu. I got my ribeye but my wife’s Mac nut crusted chicken NEVER arrived to the table and we were there for 2 hours. And to top it off we went to pay the bill and they charged us for 2 chickens. I asked for the manager and he or she never showed up. Just a complete cluster. The only bright spot was the pool waitress and the free Butter Cake.

    We were seat very close to our reservation time 7pm. The server took about 10 minute's before coming to our table for drink orders. And anotheer 5-10 minute's to return with them and ask us about appetizers, we ordered Ribeye meatballs. They came about 10 minutes later, no appetizer plate and had to wave her.down to get some. Meatballs were good, not mouth watering good. Server was slow to ask us about drink refills and really spend anytime at our table. We ordered the Seabass and NY Strip (med). Food arrived, steak was literally rare and had to be recorded, seabass was small in portion and smoothed in Bok choy. Overall, it was just an OK experience on a special night out for us. For the price $$$ disappointed.

    The manager visiting from San Antonio was great, so was our waiter. We waited over 30 minutes for our reservation because they overbooked. I substituted Brussels sprouts for my greenbeand, they brought out 2 and charged us. They were out of greenbeans so brought my husband 1 I stead of letting us know they were out. We got the charge reversed and the manager and waiter was great.

    Valentine’s Day dinner - we had reservations for 2 at 6pm. We walked in at 6:05pm and the place was packed! Shoulder to shoulder people in the lobby. We were told they’d let us know when our table was ready. Many people were complaining to the hostesses about the long wait. We even saw a couple leave after complaining. So 45 minutes later we finally got a table. And it wasn’t even a good table. It was a high top next to the sushi bar, right in the flow of traffic. Our server Taylor was sweet, but overwhelmed. The food was just ok. This wasn’t our first time here, so we were expecting a great meal like we’ve had in the past. Maybe they just bit off more then they could chew this particular night.

    The service was good and attentive. The food on the menu look Looked delicious and abundant. 1. When we received the calamari it was tough. 2. The Salmon was good. 3. The Stake was tough thin and had too much gristle. 4. The rice was good. 5. The potatoes were good. 6. The Lemonade was sweet and flavored ok. 7. Due to the Special Occasion “Valentines” we up in the air on recommending or returning.

    Even with a reservation and requested a quite table for dinner with my wife we waited 15 minutes only to end up at a tiny plastic patio table with plastic patio chairs near the waiter station in the bar. Very loud. Have visited other Kona Grills across the country in the past and expected better. Plano was well below expectations. Over $100 for lousy meal. We won't be back.

    We had a reservation at 7:30pm for a party of 8. Well, there was another party of 8 that had arrived later with no reservation. We were already waiting 20min - given we had a reservation! Spoke to the manager that we had the reservation etc. - he then setup an 8top for us. I was relieved, but then hostess called the other party of 8 and sat them at what was to be our table. The manger spoke the hostess and said that was our table. The hostess just shrugged her shoulders and said “well this party are already here sitting.” Then the manager said to give him a minute.. he ended up putting two cocktail tables together in the bar area .. which was incredibly loud. The music was obnoxious. This was supposed to be a birthday engagement dinner with close family. We couldn’t even hear ourselves talking. Food was good, but the entire experience soured the evening. Wait time on the food was too long as well. Lack of professionalism and communication.

    First time at Kona Grill. The menu had good variety and the food tasted great. The waitress was good but we really didn’t interact. Portions were middle of the road but the cost I found to be pretty pricey for the portion size. For a salad, sushi roll and poke dish I paid $90 with tip. Not sure I’ll be back mostly because of the cost.

    I came to Kona Grill for my birthday celebration. The hostess did not dress appropriately or professionally. The waiter Chance was fabulous!! When seated, we were unable to hear each other bc the music was way too loud. The staff did turn the music down upon request. The food was amazing but slow to come out. It was not busy at that time so Idky.
