First and last time we will be going there. They put us in an empty section. They were cleaning that section. Moving tables and chairs. It was super. The employees were arguing and one was using the flash light on his phone to look at stuff. But he kept shinning it I'm our direction and it was blinding. The food wasn't great. We had a plate of sushi and the server didn't have a clue what any of it was. She forgot our drink order and she took our order for an appetizer and then came back and asked if we wanted an appetizer. She forgot to put that order in. We sat and waited for her to come take our order for a while. Another server came over and asked if he could help us and he took our order instead.
One of the rolls was awful and we couldn't eat it. She asked if we wanted a different one. I reluctantly agreed. I asked if we could get it in a to go box. She brought it out on a plate and twice I had to ask to bring me a box for it. When she brought us the bill she not only charged me for the roll she brought out because we couldn't eat one of them but charged us for that one too. I myself am a server and a bartender and if somebody tells me they don't like something and I ask them can I please replace it with something else I would never charge them for both items at all I probably wouldn't charge them for either one at that point. The service was awful

Went i. For a coworkers birthday lunch.
Was willing to keep an open mind. Ordered a coke. It was flat. And yeah it happens but it has been flat for the last 3-4 months everytime I go in. They know it. But keep pushing flat nasty soda on everyone . Seriously the poor service staff has to give an excuse everytime and it’s gotten old. Our waitress was great. Very pleasant very nice. The place was slow slow slow over the lunch hour. But they had her all over the place. Quality of the food is just poor or maybe it’s the fact they’re slow getting it out and still it tastes horrible. Seriously no one in there but we waited forever for our food and then my chicken was Burnt and the sweet potato fries were beyond burnt for everyone! When one person mentioned it , the comment was ignored and we all definitely paid for less than palatable food. How could you even send that out?????I’m done with this place unless other people force me to go with them. Quality of food is just terrible. Evidently they have a new ceo and are pushing the new loyalty program. That’s all good but they’d better pay attention to the small things or the menu and quality of food is rather a large thing. Someone better save this sinking ship fast

We decided at the last minute to try to find a place to have an Easter nosh. We have not been to Kona for quite some time and decided to see if we could get in at the last minute.

We had appetizers Nd dessert. We forgot how tasty the appetizers are , as well as different than most restaurants. The desserts were really yummy. We had a butter cake Nd. Crime brûlée that were both excellent.

Our waitress, Julie, was excellent and very efficient and attentive.

Attentive staff, that made us feel comfortable even though we occupied the table for a long time. Two of us had sushi somewhere else recently and agreed Kona’s sushi had a lot more flavor!

The food at Kona has deteriorated over the last couple of years. It used to be a place my family and I loved. It has turned into a loud, crowded house full of mediocre meals, and millenials and Yuppies all trying to outyell each other. The food is overpriced and I saw a chef scratch his head with his fingernails and then handle a piece of fish. YUCK.

I am done with this place.

Allow people to get happy hour prices in the dining room if they are ordering dinner. We purchased a sushi roll for $7.50 but people in the bar paid $5.00. We ordered 2 entrees and 4 beers. Our bill was probably more than the people in the bar.

This place has an amazing aquarium behind the sushi bar. That was the best part. The sushi was "meh", the "catch of the day, red snapper was overcooked, but the vegetable relish, sort of a tomato compote, covered well. Beware the picasso roll listed as one of "our favorites" on the menu. I have never seen yellowtail sashimi shaved so thin. Not even enough food for an appetizer. Terrible value. The PadThai - average.

Seems to be the place to see and be seen, but I wouldn't come back for the food. Service, with a reservation on a busy Saturday night was good.

We were seated ahead of our reservation by a few minutes which was good. The noise level in the bar area is not any of those choices as it is very noisy and hard to have a conversation. The dining area is OK from a noise standpoint.

Kona never fails to deliver. This is the first time I have eaten at Kona since eschewing gluten. I was not disappointed as I often am at other eateries. The food and service (Mike, I think) was excellent.

We took advantage of an emailed special that sounded delicious. We went in to celebrate Valentines Day and our Anniversary. We had a good time and great friendly service but were disappointed in the overpriced special that was not that great. We are long-time loyal customers so will try again.

We enjoyed Happy Hour and then had the same waiter for dinner. Downside was that we thought he had verified our Open Table reservation but he had not so received several e-mails asking why we had not shown up. The potstickers were very good as was the Snapper and Macadamia nut chicken. Since it was my birthday celebration, I was disappointed that we did not receive the complimentary dessert as had been the tradition in the past. We had a nice booth which was very quiet and Alex, our waiter was excellent. Very pleasant evening!

Our dinner was very good and our waitress was on top of getting more drinks and refills. We were charged the wrong amount and went back the next day and the manager was very apologetic and credited the amount we payed over.

The food is very good if you can take the hottest of spicy. The macadamia chicken is a good choice if you don’t want hot. This last experience non of our food was very good. I don’t know if maybe it was the cook that evening?

was not particularly pleased with the service that we were given. We sat for approximately 15 minutes before someone that wasn't even our server came over and said sorry for the wait. Another 5 minutes later and someone finally came to take our drink order. She said the staff didn't know whose table it was. That should be pretty simple. The hostess seemed very overwhelmed that day even though the dining area was empty. Again, I love the food, but the service that day was awful. There are many more places to dine in Omaha to not get good service. Will not be back anytime soon.

The food was very underwhelming, but hopefully it was just what our table ordered. I’ve eaten here before and have had better meals and service. Was disappointed and it won’t be my first pick on restaurants to visit next time. Especially avoid the Pad Thai (its bland).

The front end service has left a lot to be desired the last 3-4 x I have been in, this time did not disappoint, they do not greet you as you walk on they carry on with whatever they are doing and seem clueless as to what good customer service entails. A simple friendly I’ll be with you in a moment or just one minute would be better than the studied indifference and casual disregard given customers who are there to spend money and keep you employed. Seriously I’m on the customer service business have been all my life and they score an F for the front end

food is just ok. Nothing special. My BF really likes their Pad Thai. I had the Cuban and it was ok. Dry and the fries were cold. But same as last time

We enjoyed the Happy Hour and then were seated in the dining room. I had requested a booth which we did receive. However, next time, I will request a booth away from the kitchen. It was VERY noisy and the cook shouted out orders and requests. There needs to be a divider between the kitchen and the seating area. Kamri was an excellent server. Food was good. It did take quite a while to get our meals.

Our waitress was very excellent and having a reservation was a great idea as there was a line waiting to be seated and we arrived on time and were seated promptly, once we got to the front of the line. The food was pretty decent, although the menu was confusing and I had a hard time trying to decipher what the main theme of the restaurant is? Seafood? Chicken? Sports menu? Sushi? Menu items were over priced for value received.

We had a reservation at 6:45. We arrived at 6:40 and were given a pager saying they were behind on reservations? As we waited the hostesses proceeded to seat other parties some who had reservations after us. My husband decided to walk through the patio and found an open table so we seated ourselves. Our waitress was wonderful and advised the manager of our issue. The manager came over and apologized plus gave us free dessert and appetizers. The food on this occasion was less than stellar also.

They were behind on their reservations and we got seated about 30 minutes late. The staff was very apologetic and were still in great spirits even though it was very busy. That helped make the wait seem fine. They also made sure we could get our food quickly as we had a movie to catch!
