Kona Grill - Omaha Ratings and Reviews
was not particularly pleased with the service that we were given. We sat for approximately 15 minutes before someone that wasn't even our server came over and said sorry for the wait. Another 5 minutes later and someone finally came to take our drink order. She said the staff didn't know whose table it was. That should be pretty simple. The hostess seemed very overwhelmed that day even though the dining area was empty. Again, I love the food, but the service that day was awful. There are many more places to dine in Omaha to not get good service. Will not be back anytime soon.
The food was very underwhelming, but hopefully it was just what our table ordered. I’ve eaten here before and have had better meals and service. Was disappointed and it won’t be my first pick on restaurants to visit next time. Especially avoid the Pad Thai (its bland).
The front end service has left a lot to be desired the last 3-4 x I have been in, this time did not disappoint, they do not greet you as you walk on they carry on with whatever they are doing and seem clueless as to what good customer service entails. A simple friendly I’ll be with you in a moment or just one minute would be better than the studied indifference and casual disregard given customers who are there to spend money and keep you employed. Seriously I’m on the customer service business have been all my life and they score an F for the front end
Our server scores A, friendly attentive and easy to converse with and did a great job.....
food is just ok. Nothing special. My BF really likes their Pad Thai. I had the Cuban and it was ok. Dry and the fries were cold. But same as last time
Not sure why I hope for better
Not in a huge hurry to return for the food or the front end but as I said standard fare and servers are great
We enjoyed the Happy Hour and then were seated in the dining room. I had requested a booth which we did receive. However, next time, I will request a booth away from the kitchen. It was VERY noisy and the cook shouted out orders and requests. There needs to be a divider between the kitchen and the seating area. Kamri was an excellent server. Food was good. It did take quite a while to get our meals.
Our waitress was very excellent and having a reservation was a great idea as there was a line waiting to be seated and we arrived on time and were seated promptly, once we got to the front of the line. The food was pretty decent, although the menu was confusing and I had a hard time trying to decipher what the main theme of the restaurant is? Seafood? Chicken? Sports menu? Sushi? Menu items were over priced for value received.
We had a reservation at 6:45. We arrived at 6:40 and were given a pager saying they were behind on reservations? As we waited the hostesses proceeded to seat other parties some who had reservations after us. My husband decided to walk through the patio and found an open table so we seated ourselves. Our waitress was wonderful and advised the manager of our issue. The manager came over and apologized plus gave us free dessert and appetizers. The food on this occasion was less than stellar also.
They were behind on their reservations and we got seated about 30 minutes late. The staff was very apologetic and were still in great spirits even though it was very busy. That helped make the wait seem fine. They also made sure we could get our food quickly as we had a movie to catch!
Our waitress must have been covering a large area. We waited a long time for our food and they weren’t too busy for a lunch hour. My lunch was a hot sandwich and fries both were cold. Not the usual experience so I’ll just chalk it up to an off day and try again sometime
Once we were seated it took more than 10 minutes to see our waitress to order drinks. There was 4 of us dining. The kids sodas came within a reasonable time, but our wine and tap beer took about 25minutes. We had to ask where are drinks were. “The bar was too busy” was the staff response. The restaurant was not even full. Our sushi order beat our appetizer to the table. The wait staff had difficulty finding soy sauce for the sushi. Our other two entrees arrived 10 minutes after the sushi had arrived. So we didn’t really even eat as a family. The food was good, but the service was the worst I’ve had at any restaurant in a long time.
Overall good food! The pop sucks. Don't order a pop save your money. i've been here quite a few times every time I order a pop it's the worst pop I ever had. You would think they be able to afford a good pop machine or just supply with cans of pop. Nothings worse than getting a good meal with bad tasting pop.
Salads were soaked in dressing. Waiter had no waiting experience. Wait time was long. Drinks watered down. Are usually go during happy hour everything is great the happy hour menu the handcrafted cocktails have always been great, But this evening special occasion dinner was terrible.
Our waitress was horrible. I ordered a Coke Zero and it came out flat. I flagged her down to tell her and her answer was they don't serve that much so that's why and offered a Diet Coke. The first coke came out ok and the second again flat, and her response was "we get complaints about flat soda", never offered to get another one or apologized. My food was delivered cold. I told her it came out cold and said nothing. Never offered a new one or even to warm up the one I had in front of me. She brought the check never asking us if we wanted dessert and said, " I hope our kitchen meets your expectations next time". Are you kidding me? Who says that? I wish I could have found a manager because her service and responses were inappropriate. My meal and drinks should have been credited by the server even without me asking. What ever happened to customer service?
