Kona Grill - Omaha
Service was a little slo but it was busy. Food was great and had no problem with our reservation. Was seated almost immediately.
Great food and service. Dining room was a bit noisy.
The food was great. Some of the choices were a tad on the pricey side. Normally I don't mind if the food is good (it was) and the ambiance is OK (not really). Our hostess and her assistants ran back and forth 3 or 4 times before finally settling on a table for us - which turned out to be a booth. For the six of us - it really wasn't enough room to sit comfortably.
Our server was new and was not able to help make food selections on every dish (she was OK on some). She was friendly and did a nice job overall. I think for me - the worst part was we were a party of six and even though we had made a reservation - they put us into a wide booth. When we asked about a table - we were told that was all that was available to us. With the noise level and the seating arrangement - I felt like I was at an Applebee's and not at a finer establishment. Based on the Applebee's vibe I would say the dishes were overpriced.
I highly recommend Kona Grill! I Ate at Kona Grill twice while I was there visiting and it was Amazing. The food tasted great, the service awesome and the atmosphere was perfect. I give this place a thumbs up and I will definitely be coming back to visit
Disappointed. I don't want explain, but you will miss us. Kona is down and they need to update the restaurant, food and service.
Why does one have to ask for silverware? #needtraining
However I would have to warn them not to make reservations and then expect to get the happy hour items. Your website does not state that you have to eat in the lounge or bar. We went expecting to buy $5 Cheeseburger Sliders and ended up having to pay full price!!!! We were not at all happy
Staff was very courteous and being some of the only customers in the restaurant during the snow storm made the night amazing. Staff was attentive and not pushy about leaving. It made my wife’s birthday unforgettable. We will be back again for sure in the near future.
On a plus side, the Jambalaya is a new favorite dish for my out and about in Omaha. I enjoyed it tremendously. However the coffee ribs I had for an appetizer were tough and chewy and did not like the experience. I would not order those in either an appetizer or main dish. My date ordered the the strip stk hot rolls (sushi), and although they were served cold (wouldn't you'd expect HOT rolls to be served hot) she did like their flavor. Also, my entree wad served 10 min after my date was served.
Very friendly service and great food. Great menu with lots of options to keep you coming back.
We had an outstanding experience at Kona Grill. They were appreciative that we had made reservations. We enjoyed Happy Hour at the bar with $5 appetizer as well as wine for $5 each. The hostess, Maddie made us feel very welcome. Our appetizer had not yet arrived when it was time for our reservation but she said, "no problem" and told us to just let her know when we were ready. She seated us at a nice quiet booth. Our waiter, Matt was very nice and accommodating. We both enjoyed the red snapper which was delicious. The green beans were also very good. It was a delightful evening!
Well the evening started with them messing up our reservation. Then they did not have ingredients for the drink I ordered. Our waitress was so quiet and sad. Did not check on us and we had to ask other waiters for help. We ordered dessert, carrot cake and they were all out of that too. Then our checks were wrong. Just a bad night overall.
Great service, good was amazing! I love Kona and recommend it always
Tried a new appetizer which was great
Server was very helpful with information on drinks and menu
Cozy atmosphere thoroughly enjoyable evening
Service was slow! Waitress was very unattentive . My husbands dinner was NOT what he ordered. When we were finally able to flag down our server she grabbed the plate and said she would have it done over and it would be about 20 minutes. My husband and I went there to have dinner together. So, I had to flag her down again and asked her to take me plate and keep it warm so that we could eat together. She grabbed my plate and didn’t say a word...just stomped off. Since we were waiting another 20 minutes we decided to have another cocktail. Took forever to get our servers attention again! Finally we had our cocktail and shortly after a runner brought out our dinners. Mine was completely cold! Not even warm! I don’t think she even made an attempt to put it under the lights to keep it warm. $100 later we were out of there and never going back!
The smell in Kona is awful. It smells like sewer. The potsickers were cold. Service was slow, but not servers fault. Seemed understaffed. The sushi was ok. The drinks were good. Very unfortunate.
Valentine’s Day Special was awesome!
The food is consistently good at Kona Grill, so we keep coming back. I usually don’t order cheeseburgers at Kona, but I went for the cheeseburger sliders this time. They were great. Only criticism I had was the fries with them were a bit too oily for my taste, that’s why I rated the food lower this time.
Our waiter was awful which is why I rated service so low.
Dinner date with my six year old daughter.
The table we were seated at was VERY uncomfortable. The seats were too low for the table top. There was NOWHERE to out coats, and it was below freezing out. The bar stool seats did not have backs so there was no where to put coats, purses etc.
Very disappointed with gluten-free options....VERY FEW!!
Nice variety on the menu with something to please everyone. Best filet that I have had in a very long time, great job!
Our server was excellent.
Great restaurant, the food is steller ever time.
We arrive 10 minutes early for the 7:00 reservation and notify them we will be waiting at the bar. At 7:20 I ask the hostess when we could expect to be seated. She says we called your phone and nobody answered. I do not take my phone in for dinner so I never received the call and we both agreed I would wait at the bar and she would come get us.....that never happen. Once we were seated the waitress was prompt to ask if we would like another drink or if we knew what we wanted to eat. Asked for another drink and placed our food order which they were out of what the wife wanted to eat. She never returned with water or the additional drink until we stopped her and asked for the drink. Yet she could return to ask how would we like our change.
Kona is one of my favorites. I always forget how loud it is because I remember how amazing the food is! Being there tonight with my 70+-year-old parents was difficult for conversation because of how loud the main dining room is. But the food...! The sea bass and the macadamia crusted chicken dishes were family favorites!
Fresh and great!
The service was slow. It took a while to get drinks.
Great dinner / too loud. Had the best server ever.
Loved the food.
Great service and a delicious variety of food and flavors. Our server was excellent.
Unfortunately the Happy Hour menu is limited to the bar and even with reservations a substantial wait so we opted for the more expensive restaurant seating.
Make sure to try the Happy Hour menu in the bar or patio. The deals and the food is amazing. You may have to wait since there are no reservations for those areas and it it loud, but the 5 dollar menu gives you plenty of options to try different things. The sliders and flatbread are excellent.
I noted that our service was poor because our server checked on us one time the entire time we were there. He never once refilled our drinks or asked us if we would like another drink.
We waited a very long time for our food to be served after we ordered. But it was really tasty when we did get it.
Our waiter was great. Food was great. However we asked for a high top so we could have our group be part of the happy hour and we were told we had to sit at the bar to be able to have it and we can wait 90 min if we wanted to do that which was AFTER happy hour would have ended. Hostesses were not kind.
Great food, really good service. Happy Hour is awesome, though never tried it, but judging by the crowd at the bar!!!!!
Everyone enjoyed their meal/ a nice get together on New Year’s Eve day!
The problem was with the delay in sushi and seafood meal ordered by my daughter. My wife and I were almost done eating by the time her food arrived.
Was very crowded and they were way understaffed. Was charged for meals we didn’t order and we barely saw our waitress
Food is consistently good at Kona Grill. Love their poke bowl.
We had some of our favorite rolls and got a couple that our waiter suggested. Great experience and great service!
