Server was outstanding - she was from Australia. One dish was very, very spicy and they immediately prepared it again with less kick. Prompt and efficient.

Food was excellent Was little disappointed with the ambiance. I expected a little nicer. Tables in center were like cafeteria tables. No candle. No tablecloth. I’d only come back if I could get a booth. Seems an easy fix to “upgrade” tables.

Terrible service!! In the hour and half that we were there we saw our waitress 3x. 2 of those were For the check. And she forgot one of our items so she gave us free dessert which came out half the size had we paid for it

Went there for my wife's birthday . Noted that in my request for my table . Our server Curtis was the best . We had the smoked goida fondue. Which was a perfect app. Our entrees were outstanding . My wife had the garlic lemon penne that she love. I had the macudam crusted chick the was delicious. They comped the creme brulee . We will return for sure.

All in all not bad...especially considering it was New Year's Eve. Not fair to rate a restaurant on New Year's Eve but Kona Grill did well.

We go here all the time and know that Sunday is all day happy hour. We were given the option to sit anywhere and we opted to sit inside but when our server came he told us that no happy hour in this section- he eventually cleared it up and said it was ok to order from the happy hour menu but didn't give us the menu even after asking a couple of times for it. 2 of our orders came super late and overall given it was not a busy time I felt we were under serviced. We've been going here for the past 3-4 years regularly and this is my first bad experience with them.

We had a late lunch in the dining room so it was very quiet, I like that very much. The ambience was very nice it was very comfortable. Food as always was excellent. This was the first time I didn’t go with sushi I went with the steak and that was cooked very well. My wife always has a chicken Paris Island she loves it. Our server Debbie was very nice. For me the star of the show tonight was the potatoes au gratin.

I have never written a bad review on open table in fact I have never written a review on open table ever. However our experience tonight warrants one.

First the restaurant was empty. When I say empty I mean there were to other tables seated in our section and our party of ten. And the service was slow and when I say slow I mean glacial. Slow to take our drink orders, slow to to refill water glasses (we were seated for 35 minutes we had received bread and butter, no plates till we asked for them we asked twice for our water glasses to be refilled )finally had to ask some one passing by with a water picture and was told I will get your server. Could not find her when we wanted another cocktail asked the person that had brought us our bread. Replied I am not your server and walked away. Meals arrive they are not correct. We have to send two back.

My daughter approached the managers and told them of the issues. NOTHING CHANED. My wife went to our server and asked if we could get coffee, response well no one asked for coffee.

At the end of the meal waited another 20 minutes for server to arrive with check. Received a discount and a free appetizer card for our next visit.

It is unlikely that there is going to be another visit , we frequent 2-3 times per year with 10 to. 12 people each time we go. When we do go it is for special occasion. Tonight was my birthday. I was not looking for a discount or a gift card. In fact I would rather they did not give me one. What I was looking for from the minute we walked in the door until we walked out was a quality dining experience with quality service and a management staff that seemed to give a rats butt. None of that here tonight.

I am sure you work hard for your money, I would suggest to you that you choose one of the dozens of other restaurants in the Oak Brook area. You deserve to be treated as if someone cares. They clearly do not at this establishment in my opinion.

I am not a fan of spicy food. Most of the food was spicy and it was not specified within the menu. It was noisy and it seemed as if they tried to squeeze extra tables in there just so they can get every penny. The waiters were nice.

We were a party of 11. The server was patient, helpful and had a good sense of humor. He also knew the menu and could make helpful recommendations. The poke dishes were different and tasty. All the rolls we tried were quite good. The Kona hamburger was huge. It was an altogether pleasant dining experience and we plan to return. My only criticism would be the drinks. I tried the mai tai while others had Moscow mules. In all cases it was difficult to find the booze. They were made with too light a pour. Suspect it could be noisy when crowded but during our Sunday night dine conversation was entirely possible. A fun place.

Service was really good and overall enjoyed everything. However. My pork tenderloin was requested to be medium rare and came to me raw in some sections. They made the correction but didn’t really offer anything but to take my half eaten tenderloin and cook it longer. Drinks were really good and our waitress was nice. Loved the ambiance of the place but the undercooked pork threw off the whole meal for me.

Kona Grill never disappoints. Great for groups, but also a nice, cozy spot for couples, with booths lining the dining room, or high-top seating in the lounge. Great sushi menu (try the sushi sampler), and a good variety of salads and entrees. Creative cocktail menu, too!

We have been coming to Kona Grill for 6 years. We have never had a bad meal, and with that being said , I can honestly say this was by far the worst meal that we have ever had, The steak had no seasoning and the salmon was over cooked and was not seasoned at all or very little the rice portions were small and it took around 45 minutes for our food to arrive

This was our first time at the Oakbrook Terrace location. The food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. The carrot cake is to die for! The service, unfortunately, was not as great. They would serve the next dish, without removing the dirty dishes, and we were stacking them in hopes that someone would notice the tower! They served dessert without asking if anyone wanted coffee. They also didn't bring us enough silverware for dessert. We waited so long for any waiter to walk by, that my nephew walked up to the kitchen and asked...the kitchen sent him back with a plate of forks!?!
Food was awesome, but because the service was so bad, I hesitate to go back.

My 2 year old and I met my dad there for an early dinner on a Saturday night. There were groups of all sizes and ages around us but we were still able to have conversations with each other. The service was great, quick but not so fast we felt like they were trying to push us out. The kids bento box is a great option for kids with lots of choices!

Thought this was getting better but the service has returned to terrible. Our last visit they were super slow and didn’t have any of the kids toys. Then the servers were sitting around talking to each other ignoring customers. We had to wait so long we changed our mind for ordering dessert. Still love the food it really pains me to see the bad service.
