The Kona Dinner Menu is creative and original, very tasty. We tried the Fondue and really liked it, as well as the oriental side salad and our entrees (Macadamian Nut Chicken and Pork Tenderloin - the sauces were outstanding!) Ambiance is great, overall very enjoyable.
Great sushi! Calamari sauce is spicy - great if you like the heat.
Food was good but service is extremely slow. Getting food took forever
I recently stopped at Kona for lunch and had a Shrimp Poke bowl. I Loved the Shrimp Poke bowl, so much that I went back a week later for dinner.

We've gone there on several occasions although it's been awhile. I always go for the macadamia encrusted chicken. So good!! BUT they changed it ,wasn't even edable.
Was so disappointed. Also I'm not sure who eats all that corn side dish but that wasn't good,maybe they serve it because it's cheap. PLEASE tell them to fix the chicken.

Overall I had a good experience. Our waitress was terrific. Though, the noise level was too high- suggest you lower the music volume.

They have the best sea bass we ever had. Love the miso flavor. Our server was Jessica who was very obliging and lots of fun.
Service was slow and awful. Sushi rolls were just okay. Chicken stir-fry was overly spicy considering it only had red pepper seasoning. They took it back and was still spicy.
The service was excellent. We were greeted and seated immediately. The server was very personable and knowledgeable. She helped with our numerous questions regarding the food and drink options. The meals were delicious and the portions were perfect. Definitely going back.
My friend and I enjoyed Kona Grill so much last time we met, we decided to go again~and it did not disappoint. Waite staff is courteous and attentive without being bothersome. The food selection is diverse, well presented and delicious. I recommend Kona Grill, and will return when looking for a restaurant in the Oak Brook area.
Our server was very nice and we had a nice dinner. We sat in the patio area where Happy Hour was and got 1/2 price food and drinks. You can’t beat that!
food was well prepared; but all our dishes were just a little bit salty. not a deal killer, though. Our server was behind and having to be helped by 2other people to get our orders out. we waited a little while for the dishes to come; but hey, it was saturday night at prime time.
I rated this restaurant as a "1" because of the MANAGER at this restaurant! Read on:
1) Food - very good. 2) Server named Curtis - excellent. 3) Noise level - hard to hear our guests but it was a busy night. 4) Now the manager on Friday night: I was urged by my friends to join KONA'S "Club". In doing so, I immediately received a "Free Appetizer Coupon" via email. We gave Curtis (our server) the coupon when we ordered the appetizer. When we went to pay for our evening (over $200 for 4 people), we were advised by Curtis that the coupon was "INVALID". He explained we couldn't use it. We could tell he was very embarrassed - so I graciously told him not to worry. QUESTION: How can the MANAGER tell the server to tell the customer (who is paying $200+) that the coupon is INVALID? At many other restaurants, you tell advise them it is a birthday or anniversary, and they give you a complimentary appetizer, cocktail, or dessert! The manager should have accepted the Free Appetizer Coupon"! Or, s/he should have personally come to our table to give us the explanation. UPDATE: The next day I had a friend sign up for their "Club". He immediately received his "Free Appetizer Coupon". He then called the restaurant. IT, TOO, WAS "INVALID"! SO, SOMEONE AT KONA GRILL SHOULD TALK TO THEIR WEBMASTER AND FIX THE PROBLEM!! AND, TOP MANAGEMENT SHOULD FIRE THE MANAGER WHO WORKED FRIDAY EVENING, 3/16/2018. THEY AREN'T QUALIFIED TO MANAGE A RESTAURANT OF THIS QUALITY! They should, instead, be working as a waiter at Denny's. In summary, we WILL NEVER return to this restaurant! VERY SAD!!
Extremely disappointed with the management at Kona Grill. The most unfriendly and unprofessional manager seated us and told us we couldn’t do the happy hour deal at our reserved table even though we had specified that we wanted a table for a larger group for the happy hour deal when making the reservation and were told that that was definitely possible. He also proceeded to complain about us to all the workers and several of the members of the party witnessed this which brought the mood of the birthday celebration down. We come to this restaurant very frequently (1-2 times a week) and were very disappointed by how they handled the situation.
Food quality has gone down.
Was feeling Japanese Food and my lovely wife and myself decided to dine here. We have to say that their Grill Mahi-Mahi over White Rice is definitely a must try for any seafood lovers. Overall Food and Service is very good so if ever in the area or near any Kona Grill location a must try...
Keith was a great server. Our water and coffee were never empty. Dinner came out perfectly timed after finishing appetizers. A delightful dining experience.

They do not offer anything special for birthdays anymore. I wish they would have told us when we made the reservation or the
Hostess could have told us. But food was good.
My husband and I came here on a Saturday night for our anniversary dinner. The food was very good and the service was pretty good also. The chocolate martini I ordered was a bit disappointing for the cost. We did let them know that it was our anniversary, and they gave us a dessert complementary. The only downside was that the table next to us was Extremely Loud the level of noise in the restaurant was high. Other than that it was a lovely evening.
Our waiter, Vic, was friendly and accommodating! He was very helpful with food choices, especially since my gluten free options were required. His personality would have us coming back again! The food was FANTASTIC! My family and I loved the ability to get sushi options, American, and steak house meals all in one place.
They did not have my reservation. Said it was cancelled. Luckily, the people we were dining with had also made a reservation so we still got a table.
Keith was a great server, but we came here thinking it will be a good sushi place. It wasn’t. Sushi was terrible. Will not be coming back here.

Food was fabulous but customer service was horrible. Server took our bill and payment and added it to a pile in his hands from other tables. First I got someone else’s bill returned with my credit card and then when he went to fix that, I signed someone else’s credit card receipt. Manager cane over and sat in booth next to me. I showed her on my phone that I had already been charged for someone else’s bill. She said not to worry. It would take a few business days but then would rectify itself. She was very flippant. That waiter should have never juggled multiple bills at the same time. She should have offered a discount or incentive to return for hassle, time and error to my credit card. I will not be returning which is a shame because the food was excellent.
Been to Kona Grill before. The sushi is OK not necessarily great (ive had better). The waitinf staff is nice and attentive. Good for a quick last minute meal.
