Always great food and great service when we go to Kona. We had sashimi as an appetizer and the shrimp appetizer. SO good. I had the chopped salad with salmon, I will definitely order that again. The sushi is always good. My husband got the surf and turf dinner with the rib eye and he said he will definitely order that again.

The restaurant ventilation system blowers made it exceedingly cold. Manager said he would take care of it, but they kept coming on. Every place to sit had exposure to blowers.
We ordered calamari and sea bass sliders as appetizers which were expensive for the the price of $18 each. The calamari were lukewarm and there were only two sliders for $18.
We ordered the surf and turf rib eye medium well which I repeated snd corrected the waitress twice that we wanted medium well. It came out bloody snd fatty. The tempura shrimp sushi was a disappointment. The waitress was incapable of explaining what it was. We ordered cheese pizza for our grandson. We asked for a box to take it home because he had lost his appetite. Gloria, our inept waitress took it away, and it got
thrown out by mistake. We had to ask to have it removed from the bill. Our other guests got the Chilean sea bass and the penne pasta with chicken and shrimp. They had no complaints.
Since it was my birthday. I ordered the coconut rum cake, and was disappointed to be told that they didn’t have it. We ordered the coffee bread pudding instead which was fine. The other guests ordered the brownie and ice cream sundae which they liked.
Our reservation was for 6:30 on a Monday, and the waitress got busier as the night went on. She was slow to remove dishes, and my husband’s coffee was served without a spoon to stir the cream. There really was insufficient waitstaff. All in all, a very disappointing birthday dinner.

After covid restrictions were over this first weekend, restaurant was at full capacity and overbooked with a long wait list even though I made a reservation that I still waited 20 mins. Service was very slow & errors of not bringing all the food out due to shortage of staff. Sound level was deafening but staff did their best & credited on our bill for not bringing out the missing food item. I will be back when things have calmed down.

we usually have a great time at Kone Grill. The techno music that was seriously blaring was ridiculous. We asked the manager to please turn it down and we believe he did ever so slightly. Know your audience. Most of the diners were in the 40-60 age range and that music was for the 20 something crowd. We actually were screaming at each other to converse.

They had a DJ running a sound system and at times it was way too loud to enable conversation

Decided to try Kona Grill as we were spending the day shopping at the mall. We were happy to be able to make a reservation. Great atmosphere, good for kids (mine loved the fish tank). I enjoyed the distinctive drink menu (yummy watermelon margaritas) while my hubby was pleasantly surprised by the quality and selection of the sushi. My kids thought the bento boxes were really cute, although we had to order extra for my older (11) off of the adult menu. Service was a bit slow and there were a few mistakes made (younger daughter given the wrong entree, given a soda when the machine was obviously low on syrup) but nothing that wouldn't make us go back again.

We live close and are looking for other restaurants now that things are open again. We are a little older so were not comfortable with menus not being available and having to look up the menu on our smart phones. Had the pot-stickers as appetizer= very good. My thoroughly enjoyed the glazed salmon dish. Will order again. I tried their stir-fry. OK. A little too much rice, but tasty. We will be back.

Loved sitting on patio open air. Good service and delish food. They were completely out of Avocado eggrolls as well as the ribs. Very disappointing but the Chicken was superb.

Poor service. Server would take away plates that still had food on them. Constantly forgot about drink orders. Had to remind her 3 times just to get one drink out.

3 front desk receptionists and not ONE person greeted us as we stood at the check in desk. We have visited many Kona Grill Restaurants and this location does not measure up. Seriously did not see one staff member smile during our entire brunch. We ordered Dessert (Butter Cake) and as we were finishing the waitress brought a half melted scoop of ice cream to the table and said "sorry I forgot to serve this with your Dessert." We called " Julie" the manager at the Oak Brook location and she offered an excuse for everything.
I'm truly sorry you did not enjoy your visit with us Sunday, and hope you'll give us an opportunity to earn back your trust.

The only thing was seating was either high top or chairs with no arms. For handicapped people this makes it difficult.

The food was excellent. The Happy Hour menu at 9pm was a nice surprise. Our server Gloria was awesome. The waiter training her was also attentive towards us too.👍🏻
The QR code for the contactless menu was a wise way to view our food selections due to covid and the hand sanitizer by the host was convenient as well. The host was also very friendly, I heard her say thank you for dining with us every time a customer left. Some restaurants don’t have nice people as hostesses and she was super professional and kind.
I usually go here with my sisters, but had an impromptu date with my husband. We’ll definitely be going back.

We had a very nice dinner. The happy hour menu is great! For dessert, I had the carrot cake which was so delicious and huge!
The service was exceptional. The manager (I think) was very welcoming and friendly, and went around the tables making sure everyone was being well taken care of.
