   Hostess quoted us a wait beyond our reservation because “as you can see, we are quite busy.” Food was mediocre at best. Felt the quality of food did not match the cost. Our server did not check back until we were done eating. Was not what we expected or hoped for - food, cost, atmosphere.

   Long waiting time for entery and even longer wait for food, had a different menu than on website. Very disappointed.

   Despite the fact that we had two black reservation, we waited 1/2 hour. The service within the restaurant was even worse. Apparently the manager doesn’t realize that Mother’s Day is very busy and they were sorely understaffed. We finally ended up getting a bottle of Prosecco because it took so long to get something from the bar. Ended up, leaving after appetizers. Unfortunately, this was our second Mother’s Day at Kona, and we will not be coming back.

   Terrible experience here on Mother’s Day. Food took an hour to come out only for the server to drop it on the floor. The food was mediocre, just overall a very unpleasant experience!

   Went for Mother’s Day brunch as it was busy but there were open tables (at one point there was 6 open tables that we could see from ours), as our server Kenneth was excellent (he was not the issue at all) we waited almost an hour for our food and when it had arrived it was cold to the point of the grease coated our mouths. We explained the issue to our server and he was very apologetic and offered to get us more to which we declined as we were there long enough. To our surprise the manager never came to our table to apologize for the food which also left us with a bad taste. Unfortunately this was our first visit as we were excited to try and will not be visiting again. We were seated at 11:45am and our food arrived between 12:30/12:40 (I didn’t look at the exact time)

   Waited for over 45 min for our food…worst experience I’ve had in a restaurant as the manager did not discount anything after how long we waited. Will never go there again and would not recommend it to anyone

   MOTHERS DAY 2025 NEGATIVE FIVE STARS First I would like to comment on the rating scale.  1 star to 5 stars.  This scale needs to be changed from a -5 to zero to a +5 stars scale.  This would allow patrons to have a more extract view. Reservation was at 10:30 am, we arrived at 10:20 am and were seated promptly. Nothing went right after being seated. The service was terrible. Wasn't greeted for about 10 min. Our beverages and meal order was taken. Beverage took forever. A hot tea, two hot coffees, an iced tea, 2 glasses of water, and 2 Mimosas. The tea water was hot, coffee was cold. Other beverages were fine. Three trips for them. I can not comment on the food. Never was served our meal. We order the buffet for 4. Which I was advised comes to the table family style from the kitchen. NO buffet table? Very strange. The menu was limited to a buffet and some ala carte items. So why did it take so long? We were not even offered refills on our beverages. I am not a very patient person when it comes to service at a restaurant. But today I was. It's Mother's Day. I know the table that was next to us was also having a terrible experience talking to the manager. When she was done with the table next to us. As she walked by I asked for some more coffee. Still waiting. About an hour after placing our beverage and meal order, my wife said to the family are we leaving now. I went and advised the manager that we were leaving due to the terrible experience and the amount of time for the food to arrive at our table. She advised the food was coming out of the kitchen. Give her 5 minutes to have our food brought to the table. NO food. Asked the server for our check for the beverages. She brought the check and the manager also arrived. Still no food. Handed the manager our check and advised her that our check was on Kona Grill for the terrible experience and the time that was wasted there. (Approxmently $24.00) We left.

   Understaffed, offered an unlimited Mother’s Day brunch, then didn’t have enough staff to fill all the others. 10 minutes to wait in line just to give our name, 20 minutes for the waiter to come to our table and even recognize we sat down, and over 1 hour for our food to come. We ordered more food for the unlimited but that took another 45 minutes. Nearly 3 hours. Not the servers fault. The GM was there and she even said “don’t be mad at me when she introduced herself”. No one else to blame it seems.

   Food was exceptional. Had the special of steak, salad, and potato. Maria, my server, could not have been better. She was always available to help me with my every need.
