Kona on Gilbert always has a great atmosphere and great people working. I really enjoy the food.
All appetizers we ordered were wonderful! Pot-stickers, calimari, avocado egg rolls. I ordered cucumber salad that was just ok. My California roll was good. The other three ladies loved their dinners. Our server was very good and the atmosphere was nice. Make reservations or go early. The place gets very busy around 6:00pm.
Very slow service. Food was great though.
Great food and service
Great service! Use of the open table reservation worked perfectly. No waiting on a Friday night for a party of 12. Just walked in and sat down.
Love the avocado rolls, I always get their chimichuri sauce for dipping as it's so tasty. Really enjoyed the Spicy Tuna Stack and the three layer carrot cakes is very good.
The food was great. I was a little concerned about the cleanliness. We had a dirty plate, the men’s restroom was out of soap and paper towels.
Great experience! Awesome food. Very nice atmosphere and clean. Lighting is perfect. Couldn't have had a better time. Nice job Team Kona of Gilbert!
The avocado rolls were absolutely fantastic and was a great choice for an appetizer. My friend had macadamia crusted chicken which was moist and delicious. I had shrimp pad Thai which was also fabulous. The portions were so large that we each had to take home part of our meals. The waiter was courteous and helpful. We love the Kona Grill.
It was fantastic! Food was delicious and the service was great! For being Valentine's Day, there was no wait and everything was amazing. Great job Kona Grill even though it was very busy!!
5 stars every time too to bottom
Came here with my wife for dinner. Restaurant was very nice, our waiter Auston was awesome, food was well presented and tasted great. Will probably make this place our go to sushi spot.
Kona never disappoints. My sister has several food allergies and the staff was extremely helpful in finding something that she could eat. If we had any questions, our waiter would directly ask the chef, so we knew we were getting solid info.
My husband & I have been to Kona Grill many times for happy hour. It’s a fun spot & good value. We have only had dinner there a few times. We like it for the location, good value and place to meet friends. In my view the dinners have been lacking, though. I don’t like spicy food and most entrees are spicy. It’s on the noisy side. They tout Wednesday Wine Night & yet have either been out of what we wanted or the white wine wasn’t chilled. We had to ask that the vacuuming stop until we had finished dinner. Used dishes & glasses not removed but left on the table during the entire dinner. We will continue to patronize the restaurant for the above mentioned reasons, but because of the detractors I would only rate it as 3 stars.
Kona Grill has a very good Sushi menu with reasonable prices. We like it for the variety of rolls and the fact you can have them made with soy paper instead of seaweed. Heck of a lot easier to eat. If you like sushi, try it with the soy paper.
We loved our dinner. Everything was wonderful. We had the chicken and the pork tenderloin. The vegetables were just right. The Snickers pie was perfect to share. Very nice evening and would definitely recommend.
Sushi California roll was the best. Great presentation . The entire meal was very good. Service from Brandy was excellent.
We always enjoy the food and the service is usually really good. This time the service was significantly slower than usual in terms of time to get food out and drink refills. Which was surprising considering the restaurant was not at all busy until around the time we left. I was also surprised the manager only allowed one complementary Birthday dessert (there were 3 of us with birthdays in our party of 10). Seemed odd given we spent a substantial amount of money overall.
The fondue was excellent however the main course fell short. Large crab shell in the crab béarnaise, the potatoes gratin was bland, just cream and potatoes with a dash of cheese no seasoning and no cheese.
Service was good, just the main course brought the scores down.
Food was excellent and great service made the dinner experience with great friends perfect.
We love our local Kona Grill. We go so often, most of the servers recognize us when we are there and say hi. It's a great feeling. Great food and great staff.
Jessica, our server was nice, but never asked if we wanted dessert after our meal.
The Pad thai was salty and the tuna sliders were dry and bland.
I indicated on my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and while we were there, there was no mention of it from the server or restaurant so we could make my mom's birthday a little more special.
Food was good, server was rude. Had to send back my alcoholic drink because it tasted like straight alcohol (might as well drank a bottle of rubbing alcohol) and she didn’t seem very happy about it. She just looked down to the table and said ok, like no offer for something else, no offer to remake it, just ok. She missed writing down an appetizer we ordered and when we got our dinner we asked about it. She blew it off like it was no big deal, no apology, nothing... just “i must have missed it”. My friend ordered a soda with no ice and she brought with full glass of ice. Not a big deal until you had to tell her about the error and then again, no acknowledgment of the mistake and she just grabbed the glass and asked, anything else? Honestly she sort of ruined the mood of our dinner. Whether she was having a bad day or this is her usual attitude, she definitely shouldn’t have been in a customer service role that day. She was even rude to other servers trying to help her.
Sunday dinner - the place closes at 10:00 PM and around 7:45PM the crew was sweeping, cleaning, and starting to close up.. the place was empty, but if it supposed to open until 10PM, then don't clean up until you close. It was rude.
My husband & I dined at Kona twice recently. We wanted to take advantage of 1/2 price wine on Wednesdays. The 1st time everything was great until the end of the meal when a vacuum cleaner was started up near us. We asked it to be stopped and it was. Odd, but a minor inconvenience.
The 2nd time was with friends , again on a Wednesday. Both couples chose the same wine. Only one bottle was chilled. Really, on the touted wine night? Service on getting our wine was incredibly slow. We all commented on it & mentioned to waiter. He seemed distracted. The second problem was my entree. The waiter assured me the spice in Pad Thai could be toned down. ( like I always get at Thai restaurants). The waiter was wrong and It was too spicy. The waiter should have either known for sure or found out, not assume. I was offered a new dish but after the long delay with the wine, I declined and it became a takeout for my husband.
It’s a great location with good ambiance. We’ve always enjoyed their happy hours so we’ll probably stick with that in the future.
really enjoyed the experience ... tasty delicious food
Our server was great!
Just had a great dinner with the family.
A little too loud for our liking, but probably fine for others. Service a bit slow, even for a Saturday night. Seemed they short staffed it for a busy night. Food was OK.
Excellent food & service!
Food was great only disappointment was the not so fresh looking lettuce served with the lettuce wraps. Could use some thorough inspection on lettuce used/served.
The sushi was simply average, yet the price was high. The fondu was AMAZING.
We had a group of 16 on Sunday at noon to celebrate 4 family July birthday's and our server was AMAZING.......we expressed our appreciation and she said she had only been there 2 weeks. Natural at her Job! Food was good, children's meal was impressive. A little pricy for lunch but worth the celebration.
No the greatest, the filet migion was over cooked. Drinks forgotten about, food forgotten about. Waiter was nice but not the greatest experience for the money. I could go to a better restaurant and pay the same. Overall not worth it.
Kona is our family's go-to. Half of us love the sushi, half love the macadamia chicken, everybody's happy. Great ( if a little slow) service every time.
Our waiter was amazing, he was on point with our drinks and food.
Great waiter. Great food. And super fast service!
This was our first visit to Kona Grill. We celebrated our anniversary with a delicious meal, great service and ambience. The portions were very generous and we took home lots of food to enjoy the next day. Interesting menu with large variety of choices. Loved the house - baked carrot cake! We will definitely return to try more entrees.
Fqthers day, wasn't very busy yet our server seemed to be in a constant hurry. Neither entre was right when it arrived at the table. We had to send both back. Took along time to get drinks. Better restaurant for lunch or eating in the bar for an afternoon drink/ snack.
I've had larger pours of wine at samplings than a glass at this restaurant.
Service was great.
Food selections OK.
Pulled park sliders could have used more slaw to offset the overly spicy sauce.
