Kona Grill - Ft. Worth Ratings and Reviews
Great as always. We were a party of four and they originally didn’t want to seat us until everyone was there (even though we had a reservation) but one friend was running late so they sat us about 10 mins after our reservation time. We were appreciative. I don’t drink beer often but wanted to so our waiter gave me a few samples to try. They were considerable in size. Our waiter was very attentive to us and did a great job. Overall good experience.
Waiter was great, food was great! One recommendation: if you’re having happy hour pricing going on, make it relevant to the entire restaurant. Nothing was more awkward than telling our sweet waitress we wanted to move because we wanted to be able to do the happy hour. After adding up our tab, we would have spent $25+ more on food and drinks if we hadn’t moved! Worth the discomfort to us but it has to be disappointing to their employees put in the non-discounted sections
We have been there many times and today there was a small issue. It was resolved quick and the staff and manager took very good care of us. We will continue to go there and the service has always been great. Now we know if something does happen it will be fixed in a appropriate and exceptional manner. Thanks to all the staff for making our visit a great experience.
We love Kona Grill's happy hour and food but were disappointed to find out that even though we made a reservation we could not sit in the happy hour section without waiting another 45 mins to an hour and that even the bar was not open seating. When booking the reservation there's a note saying you can't reserve the bar or patio but it doesn't explicitly say you can't book a reservation anywhere in the happy hour section so we were pretty put off by the lack of accommodation.
My flank steak was so salty I could barely eat even a half of it. Vegetables with it were dripping with oil. Service was decent but didn't have enough servers during lunch, all tables were taken, had to wait for our server to bring us boxes, etc. Spent the rest of the day in a bathroom with upset stomach. Will not be back. Also, very loud , both music and noise, could barely talk.
Food was wonderful and so was the service for 8 of us. My only complaint was that it was a bit too warm in the dining room. Also saw other patrons fanning themselves because of the warm room. It was the hottest day of the summer, so perhaps the AC was just having a hard time keeping up.
The Kona Grill has excellent food, very good service, the chairs are comfortable, the best Happy hour in town and very good prices for drinks. The Manager Michael is pleasure to talk with and remembers the regular diners by name a good trait for a manager. Only caution the deserts are HUGE so unless you are 6'5 and very big you had better share. Love the place and reservations on line very easy.
First time at Kona and it was great. The lobster mac and cheese was amazing. Tried several types of sushi, they were all great. The butter cake with vanilla bean ice cream and raspberry sauce was delicious. We made a reservation for a Sunday afternoon, not sure it was necessary though. Better safe than sorry. Will definitely be back!
Had a great time here once again. And the last time here I was here Dominique was very nice and helpful and once again my wife and I dine here again he was very attentive and helpful with his staff that he was managing great time and great customer service...😃
We had a tight time-frame and a hungry threesome; had never been to Kona, but we had an event at Will Rogers Coliseum so the location was convenient. Food was very good, atmosphere was really good - had no idea it was that lively of a place.
Our waitress was good, but clearly in the weeds. Nevertheless, she did a great job getting us served and out the door in a reasonable amount of time.
Surprisingly good. Expecting typical chain style food but pleasantly surprised. Nice menu, nice service, great kids menu. Better sushi than most of the local Ft Worth sushi joints. Would go back with kids. Wouldn't go back if it was just wife and I.
The food is quite good and the menu has variety (something for everyone). Brit, our server, was excellent and anticipated requests and drink refills. We witnessed other staff members also being proactive and helping each other out. This was our 3rd time at this location.
We came here for a quick Mother's Day Lunch before touring the Kimbell Museum. Our group of five had a mix of Sushi Rolls, a shrimp salad, a cuban sandwich and assorted drinks. Love the Angry Adamame (spicy) and their rolls and Sushimi did NOT disappoint. Highly recommend the Picasso roll. Finished off with some bread pudding which we shouldn't have eaten, but were glad we did. We all snacked off one huge order. Overall, a fantastic, tasty and top performance from an upper tier chain. Oh, and validated free 4-hour parking next door was a bonus.
We went to Kona Grill for a friend of mines birthday, there are a few good aspects to Kona, however the bad outweigh the good.
-The waitress was so nice and so sweet, she was just kind of clueless. She forgot a few items throughout the entire night, not enough for someone like me to complain, but I am a lot nicer to servers than most.
-The restaurant is really nice looking, the atmosphere is fun and the layout is nice.
THE BAD (list isn't long, but it's important)
-The food is just terrible, We ordered Calamari for the table and it had absolutely no flavor completely bland. I ordered a few sushi rolls, which tasted alright, hard to mess up sushi. I did try my daughters macaroni and her fried rice, quite possibly the 2 most disgusting dishes I have ever tasted in my life. Also my wife hated her dish (I cant remember what she had, its probably best I forgot) our friends were also disappointed with their food. On top of that, the place was empty and it took almost an hour to get our food.
Showed up during happy hour but didn't want to sit in the designated happy hour area. Turns out that was the only area that was getting reasonable service. Service in the dining area was slow - our drinks took 15 minutes, our app was cold by the time it got to us, and my wife received her main course 10 minutes before I did. There were only a few people dining and more dirty tables than occupied, but nobody was seemed to care about bussing those. Food was ok, but not worth it given the rest of the experience. If you are looking for a nice date night, keep looking. Maybe this place is ok for drinks after work.
