Kona Grill - Friendswood
Fri - Sat: 11a-11p
Great food and service. My only concern was the fact were we put next to the kitchen door. Loved the fact we could see the cooking area. Disliked the fact the waitstaff flung the door hard against our seats numerous times.
Will go back again but will make sure not the sit in the particular seat
The food a Kona Grill was awesome! The decor was very appealing.
Marley gave great recommendations, the service was great, and food was delicious! We will definitely be back.
The appetizers were crazy good.
Great tasting food and attentive service. Menu change toward more sandwiches was a little surprising, but the Macadamia Nut Chicken dish is still a hit.
Servers were pleasant but slow, we had two for our table of 18. Some appetizers brought out with entrees. Food took forever....one member of party said he waited 15 minutes for his beer. Food was brought out finally and yelled out, people had to raise their hand to get correct food. Bday boy was served LAST! Cake was brought out and dropped off with no plates or serving utensils....bday boy served his own cake. Dinner plates were not cleared and stayed on the table until after we had check. Overall, an extremely disappointing experience. We will not be back.
Tasteless burgers, soupy Pad Thai, sushi not as good as HEB. Way overpriced for the quality. The one server working had to cover the entire restaurant, so the poor service was not directly her fault.
My wife's glass broke at the dinner table ruining her food and clothes. This is apparently a common thing as the people helping clean it up said it the third one that week. They explained the glasses were hot because they were just cleaned, and when they add the cold beverage it happens. Not that I look to get anything free, but they did not offer to take anything of the bill not even the drink. I had to eat my food while my wife watched me because her food had to be redone, my wife not wanting to eat there just had her food boxed up and we left as soon as it came out. Probably not going back there, not a good experience for the price.
They have had an outside door left open the last three times I have been there. When you sit inside towards the back it is absolutely freezing. Giant goose bumps on my arms. They said it was a corporate directive to leave the doors open. So the air conditioner runs continuously to compensate for the doors being open.
Was great my first time here and enjoyed every thing.
Awesome scenery first of all for any occasion. Friendly staff which makes every experience worth coming somewhere., so keep it up Kona !
Kona Grill is consistently great! Great food, service and atmosphere! We had a really nice Easter brunch with the family!
Our group consisted of 10 ladies celebrating monthly birthdays..very easy to make reservations, Our server helped us with questions about the menu, and she was always available to us. You will see us again. Thank you...
The drinks and customer service was excellent. The starters were great and very tasteful and were worth the price. I even really enjoyed the butter cake with ice cream desert. The main entrees were not what I expected. My steak was over cooked and my wife really was not to pleased with her order as well. I can see the place as being more for Happy Hour with just drinks, starters, and deserts.
Great Valentine's Day dinner!
Food was great service was great but it was a little pricey. I would return overall it was good.
A big thanks to our waiter, Nick. Although the initial welcome took long, I think his professionalism and attention to our table overall exceeded our satisfaction. I would however, like to see better presentation to the dishes. I don't think the glazed salmon lived up to its price tag. Overall, our waiter was the reason we stayed and will go back.
Overall, the experience was very positive. It was a beautiful day and we chose to sit outside on the patio. Unfortunately we sat underneath a large and very noisy fan, which most definitely spoiled the experience. The music was loud, perhaps to attempt to hide the noise from the fan, but it just made it harder to hear the conversation and did not cover up the fan noise. I would completely remove that table from the patio.
The hostess was rude, we had a reservation and there were empty tables everywhere and yet my husband and I stood there for 10 minutes being ignored by more than one person. Our server was very friendly but not very knowledgeable about the menu or drinks and forgot things that we asked for. My mango mojito was just a regular mojito but was an okay mojito none the less. The food was not good. I had the Charrasco and it was not good. The cut of meat is cheap crap, the veggies were weird and undercooked... I am actually not sure if they were cooked at all and the mashed potatoes were a cold lump of tasteless junk. My husband ordered sushi both rolls and a bowl. the bowl had rice that was warm and in a million times of eating sushi never have we been served warm sushi. The tuna was good. We wont go back and would not recommend that anybody spend the $110 that it cost us to dine there.
I’m from Chicago and I was just looking for a place to eat, this was an excellent place to visit. I would totally come and visit again :)
Kona handled our group of 16 with great service and attention. Food is always delicious every time we eat there. Awesome chic atmosphere.
For a sushi restraunt the sushi was pretty terrible. We ordered a total of 6 rolls and only 3 were edible. Terrible flavors and the price was too high.
Wonderful unique menu items. Excellent attentive service.
Great food and atmosphere! Service was excellent!
Food was below average, not as described or burnt. Slow service, was not busy. Not impressed.
We were given a lunch menu and didn't know it, so the bill was higher than expected when we payed. Not good. Sushi roll had a skimpy fish portion compared to other Kona Grills. Service was okay.
Very nice restaurant all around great food and staff
Bad food quality and I've been charged for what I couldn't eat.
Restaurant was not very busy for a Saturday dinner. Drinks and sushi were very good. The quality of the dinner was not on par with pricing.
We came in for dinner and had a hamburger (excellent), sushi (pretty good) and a glass of wine. The wine selection was pretty good, the prices were average to high but the amount of the wine in the glasses was small. Service was a bit slow tho the waitress was cheerful and kept checking on us. We would go again but will likely drink ice tea.
Made a reservation for 12 (13,actually) for my birthday. Orders for drinks & appetizers happened shortly after being seated & they came quickly. Slight mix up on 1 of the kids plates but not a big deal. My parents brought an ice cream cake & was able to keep it in the restaurant kitchen till it was time for dessert. Restaurant wasn't crowded yet, so noise wasn't that bad (4 kids in our party was loud enough). No complaints about food, everyone seemed to enjoy their entrees & drinks. I'd definitely return!
The salads we had at Kona Grill were mixed. The Chili Lime Shrimp was just ok; theChip Salad j had was superb. A bit surprised that, with tip, a lower-priced glass of wine and the two salads cost over $60...for lunch. But the noise level was good and seating quite comfortable.
Waiter and Manager both awesome! Let my wife and I create our own meal and it was amazing!
Food was overall good, but pricey. Half of our entrees came out lukewarm and had to be sent back. The bill for 8 people was shocking, with only 5 drinks ordered over 200~! Managers comped dessert for the temperature problem.
A family of 6 + baby and we spent a lot of time as we hadn't seen each other in years. Everything was perfect and not rushed even on Mother's Day!
Service was great. Host took us right to our seats when we arrived to the host station.
We ate here for Mother's Day. Service was great with complementary champagne for moms.
Lettuce wraps were great. I ordered a Kona roll and 5pieces of salmon sashimi. The sashimi was very good. My daughter prefers the sushi sampler & it was a great meal she said. My son ordered the avocado chicken club and enjoyed it. My husband orders pad Thai noodles with shrimp. It was a huge portion so he brought some home.
It was our first time eating here but we'll be back.
Sake boms are the best
Get the specialty rolls
Appetizers were served quickly and were quite good. Entrées came out 40 minutes later cold and really not very appealing at all. Manager did what she could might've just been a bad night but no desire to return
The air condition was very cold. Service was on the slow side.
