We went for Mother’s Day. The food was fantastic, our waiter Lane was excellent, wish I could give at least six stars to him (if you’re reading this and I misspelled your name, I’m sorry) and the atmosphere was so cool. We agreed we should come by more often.

Forgot my sons kids meal, sat with empty drinks for a long time, had to ask for silverware after our meal came and had to wait, steak was dry. Not impressed. Our waiter was nice and working hard but he was overwhelmed and couldn’t attend to all of his tables

We made a Mother's Day reservation and would have liked to have sat at a bigger table than a small high top in the bar area.

The service was friendly, but quite slow - especially for drinks. Our appetizers came out before our drinks.

Food was very good and we would return.

It took over an hour before we received our meal. The food was mediocre at best. Manager never approached to apologize. Nothing worthwhile.

The worst NY Strip I’ve had at a restaurant. They started with poor quality meat, cut it very thin, and cooked it medium well when I asked for medium rare. The Miso soup was too salty to eat, and the strawberry cake tasted like dry bread. The lobster roll was decent, a little above average. All in all, very disappointing.

It was Mother’s Day so I realize it was busy but we didn’t get served our meal until a little after 3:00 and our reservation was for 1:30 and we waited 30 minutes for a table and then they seated us in the bar area and not the normal dining room. The prices are way too high now and portions are so much smaller than they used to be! We used to go all the time but will not go back again!! The only good thing was the food tasted good not great and the waitress was super nice and apologetic!

We arrived on time but we were told to wait despite having a reservation. When we were finally seated it took 30 minutes just to get water. The place was busy and out server was rarely seen. She wasn't serving other table near us so she was all over the place. We quickly decided what we wanted and ordered our entree without appetizers. Our beverages all came out separately and by different servers. My meal came a full 20 minutes before everyone else's. We shared mine, which wasn't bad, until the others came. When the food came it was nearly inedible. The lobster avocado toast was gross. The toast was cold and hard and the lobster was dry. The salmon was overcooked and coated in a salty teriyaki on a plate that had either been nuked or under a heat lamp. The rice side was a re-hydrated Uncle Ben's style rather than freshly made.

Overall a disappointing Mother's Day experience. We won't be returning for any reason.

I made a reservation for noon on mother's day, we were running a little late. We got there and the place was packed! They said we would have to wait for a table, so we did for about 20 mins. We got to the table and ordered right away we knew what we wanted and we have our 11 month old with us so we know we need to be quick. Waited AN HOUR no food. We said can you just pack it up we need to leave. Which she did pretty quickly but they gave us the wrong food, they said they could start the burger right then but no way we could not wait any longer (the baby could not wait!) . Then we stood up from the table hadn't even finished packing out things and the table was bussed soooo quickly that they were in a huge hurry to sit the next people! For what so they could wait an hour and not get food either?!?! Unbelievable. We will never be back.

Once we were seated and ordered, it was approximately 1.5 hours before we received our food. Wifes french toast came out 15 minutes after the rest of the meals. Also wife ordered the special french toast which was supposed to come with berries, mint and a honey butter which never arrived. We won't be going back. Waiter was good and was very apologetic, not his fault. The kitchen is a disaster thought.

I was so terribly disappointed with our experience at Kona on Mother’s Day! I have been there many times before and really enjoyed the food...sadly this trip was nothing like previous times. They had a special menu for Mother’s Day but apparently non of the staff were on the same page about this menu. What we ordered based on how it was described on the menu and what we got were completely different! Then the server and manager trying to correct this told us completely different things about why and what was available. It was a nightmare. Sadly we were not the only table to have this experience...it seemed like everyone was looking back at menus trying to figure out what was different compared to what had been listed on the menu. It was a true mess. They did comp our entire meal which was good considering we really didn’t eat much of what showed up to our table. I really hope they get things sorted out and back to running smoothly, I’d hate to not go there again in the future.

Our server, Elliott, was a great server, and the starter (sea bass sliders) along with our drinks were both very tasty, however our main courses were awful. My S/O's course (chicken) arrived ten minutes before mine did because "I didn't want to have to make a second one while waiting for your sushi". The chicken itself was so overcooked and dry that it would have been better for all parties had it been re-made. The sushi I ordered was pathetic, I've honestly had better grocery store sushi 90% of the time. The roll was disproportionate, tasteless, barely anything in the roll, and it was cut up and thrown on a plate that had a pool of some mystery liquid in the middle. This overall meal cost 75 dollars and was honestly one of the worst meals I've had in Denver in years. If you're going to be in the Cherry Creek area for lunch, I promise you there are at least 20 places within a mile of this place that are better. There is no logical reason to go to this place if you're in this area. Lessons learned.

Ps. the man next to us in the adjacent table was casually sitting in a white t-shirt and bulletproof vest the entire time we're there, which is remarkably uncomfortable and anxiety-inducing. That's not on the restaurant at all and in no way should be help against Kona, just a weird fact from that experience.

Manager came over and was good at first but never followed through which was his mistake. Left us hanging thinking we were getting one thing and never communicated to us that we were not. A simple effort made to come over and communicate that to us would have solved everything.

I had the Luna roll, checkerboard roll and sayuri negori sake. Everything was SO good. I was seated near a beautiful fish tank and the waiting staff was attentive. Definitely will go back.

Kona was one of the few places open at 9:30+ in the Cherry Creek area. The atmosphere and service was above average but every single dish we ordered was awful. Not just a little bad, I’m talking inedible. We ordered a variety of dishes hoping one would improve. Every single dish we ordered was once-every-five-years bad.

First The host told me I can pick any seat outside that’s wasn’t the issue. As I picked my seat A worker not my waitress rushed over to before I can even sit down and said you need to be checked in and temperature checked and I stated the host let me choose my seat still she was rude and made me get up. So I finally get seated again now a 24 mins wait to get a Waitress over with a menu or acknowledge I was sitting at a table. I watch multiple parties seat down and received immediate service. I watched tables of 4 get drinks before me as I order my drinks prior to them placing there order for food and drinks! I really liked Kona grill but this past experience made me feel out of place and uncomfortable

They were not prepared for our taking advantage of the last night of Denver restaurant week; we had to ask for the special menu. The chicken and fish lettuce wraps were tasty, but there wasn't enough lettuce to wrap the generous stuffing. Our mains (butter-glazed salmon and cilantro lime chicken) were the highlight of the evening, being generous portions with well-complimented sides. The desserts (carrot cake and coconut rum cake) were overly generous, requiring to-go boxes. The canned music was too loud and nouveau for our tastes. Service was friendly but slow; we waited 25+ minutes for our desserts.

Absolutely THE WORST meal my family and I have had in recent memory. Had a 6:15pm reservation. Did not receive our entrees until 7:30pm ~ and our appetizer never arrived. Two of us ordered cheeseburgers with fries. The food spent so much time under the heat lamp that the burger patties were well(+) done and not able to be cut with a steak knife. Totally unacceptable.

It was a wonderful experience. Drinks and food were delicious with the exception of overcooked calamari. The ambiance was great but the music was SO LOUD! It was difficult to communicate with my husband and with the server.
