Hostess was very difficult to work with. I had a reservation for 8. She said we could not be seated until 6 people had arrived. There was only one other table occupied in the restaurant. My group were senior citizens. Will not go back to this location.
Food and service are good, convenient and many options
This visit was awesome. My friends and I had a great time. I would definitely plan another event here
Decent. Not exceptional but good as always.
We received friendly service and the food was good and presented just as ordered. We would return to Kona Grill
Although the food was good the restauraunt seems to be dirty. And the rest rooms have been horrible the last 2 times I was nthere.
We were turned away at the hostess station despite having a reservation on OpenTable. They offered to add us to the waiting list with a wait of 45 minutes. I’m not sure why they’re even listed in OpenTable. Clearly, they do not honor the reservations. We ate at The Theodore (directly across from Kona Grill) and were seated in less than 10 minutes without a reservation.
The reservation didn’t work unfortunately, I needed wait mire than 1 hour after my reservation.
We made reservations thru open table when I got there she said open table isn’t allowed to schedule and dinner for more than 6 on the same day. So we had to wait an hour for a table. I showed her my reservation thru open table but she said she couldn’t accept it and that it was open tables fault.
Pear Chicken Salad & Macadamia Nut Crusted Chicken we’re both fantastic! Service was EXCELLENT!!
Kona Grill is a great place to go. The food was amazing as always. The lobster mac n' cheese really hit the spot. The staff was very attentive and was very helpful. I definitely plan on returning.
We went for our daughter’s birthday. We have been many times before and always had a good experience. They were out of many items and couldn’t even make her a special birthday drink. She was turning 8 and was quite disappointed. All she wanted was a virgin strawberry daiquiri. They couldn’t do it. I’m not sure we’ll be back any time soon.
We had a reservation but came early and was seated within minutes. My cocktail was delicious and the sushi was outstanding. There was a game going on in bar area that got a little loud but it was fun to watch.
Kona Grill is showing it’s age. Remodel planned.
The food was ok but not very exciting should have gone with sushi.
A good standby in Northpark.
Love that they have size options for various plates - so I can get a small salad with chicken when I'm not starving.
Get the Oriental Salad - it's light and delicious!
It's a great place to have a drink and tasty food with company!
Our sushi was bland no flavor at all
Great variety on the menu. Reasonable prices.
a go to place - esp. if around the mall. typically go here and then to a movie on the weekends
The food is still pretty good but they pulled a fast one. A cheap shot. You're looking over the wine list and they approach you with a buy-one-get-one free deal on wine. They bring a list with prices conveniently missing. You find out why when they bring the bill. They basically double the price of the bottle and sell you 2 of them! Been a while since I saw a good ol Brooklyn bait-and-switch! Well it wont happen to us again. At least not there. Lost a customer.
Macadamia nut chicken with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Superb!
Our server Anthony was amazing! He anticipated all our needs! We will definitely be back!!
The food was bad, practically inedible. And the service was nonexistent.
I was looking forward to taking my date to Kona Grill. I was a frequent customer of Kona Grill in Chandler and was excited to introduce my date to this gem. We experienced one disappointment after another. My date ordered his favorite drink, a pina colada. Our waiter said they don't have that drink. We were stunned and sat in silence trying to think of something else. Our waiter missed an opportunity to suggest another drink so we drank water.
We asked about the fresh fish of the day and the waiter didn"t know and left us to ask someone. We ordered the sea bass and macadamia chicken. The sea bass was exceptional; however the chicken was disgusting. It was rubbery, difficult to cut and chew. We sent it back to have it cook longer because it tasted like it was undercooked. The waiter brought the chicken back out and it tasted the same.
The manager came to the table and explained that there was nothing wrong with the chicken. The process of breading the chicken somehow changes the texture. She gave us a dessert on the house. This item needs to be removed from the menu if what we were served was considered typical.
I went to the restroom and found it to be a dump. I've been to gas station rest room that we in better condition. I would think that for a restaurant with these prices there would be upscale restrooms.
We left the rest at 9:45 and had to wrestle our way through a crowd waiting to get into the bar area.
We will try the other Dallas location and not go back to Northpark.
Food was good. Server was very good. Time for food to arrive was a little long.
Kona Grill is comfortable and friendly place. The food is fresh and very tasty. Staff greets you warmly and service is well organized and efficient. Great place to meet friends and enjoy a healthy meal.
Thanks for another good dinner Kona! Luvd the bartender whom created me a drink at happy hour pricing!
The Pear/Chicken Salad was very good & the Asian Salad was good as well. Service is very good.
Service was terrible considering how slow they were. My soup was barely luke warm. It was overall disappointing.
Food and service was good. The place needs a remodel. To pay this much to sit in a booth that is torn up and the springs coming out is totally in acceptable
Great place. To many babies mixed in the adult section causing a lot of disruptions.
Visited a Kona Grill in Houston and liked it. This experience was less than ideal. The food was okay, nothing special along with the selection of spirits. The ambiance was horrible. Should've guessed, it being in a mall and all but every other restaurant in Northpark is pleasant and somehow manages to mask that they're in a mall. Top that off with an annoying waiter desperately seeking a tip and it was not a very enjoyable experience.
Overall, the food was good. Service was quite slow tonight. It appeared our server had tables outside his section, looked like he was also responsible for the sushi bar, and was busing his own tables, so it wasn't quite his fault.
We arrived on time at 6pm. Food was great when it finally came....waiter couldnt find a drink menu. We waited thirty minutes before ordering drinks and ended up just going on the website for drink menu. We waited another 20 minutes after that just to order our meal. By the time the food came.. It was after 7...we had to rush and eat and didn't finish because the movie was about start upstairs at 7:30. Good foid but service was awful.
Good food and attentive wait staff. Will hi back again.
Wasn't very good service, and they failed to check me in on the Open Table. Won't be back.
The food at Kona was not very good at all. It used to be our go to restaurant, now, we're not going back for a long time, if ever. Vegetables were not cooked well, either overcooked or raw. Chicken dish was rubbery and inedible. Wait staff was mediocre at best. Food was ready to be delivered under the heat lamp, but was not delivered for a LONG time. We ordered sushi, but the order was lost and it had to be cancelled. Overall, Kona at North Park has really gone downhill. The friends that introduced me to Kona have also stopped going. They compared Kona to a bad Appleby's. It's a shame that such an incredible restaurant has fallen on such hard times.
The service and food were excellent. The staff made us feel right at home and we weren't rushed at all. Macadamia encrusted chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans were fresh and delicious! We'll be back again and again! Also try the chicken chili!
service took over an hour to get food and the restaurant was only at 50% capacity
