Kona Grill - Columbus
Hit up Kona for happy hour food and beverages. Server was great, drinks were average and food was decent. Wife's chicken was rushed and my sushi had that 'old' fish taste only those that eat sushi often will identify with on one roll.
Went to kona with 6 other friends and we had a great experience! The food was amazing and our server was too! One of the managers, Brian, is a family friend and he was nice enough to bring us every dessert on the menu as a congratulatory gift for my engagement. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!
So I went here two times before and I actually loved it. Everything was fine (they gave us a really nice patio seat, our waitress was really nice and attentive. However, my main entree of Caesar salad has strips of brown lettuce in it. I feel this is unacceptable at a restaurant. I can get brown lettuce when I make a salad home with leftovers.it should be fresh. I didn’t say anything cause we already bought tickets to a movie we were trying to make. But icky when it comes to fresh food!!
Great atmosphere and location. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the sushi was fresh and tasty
I had reservations we arrived and were asked if we wanted patio I said no thank you it was to chikky and windy outside. It took her awhile to get us a table and I felt I was being an inconvenience. We were seated 5 minutes after our Reservation . The Server was very good and friendly and the food was fabulous. All in all it was a great experience we will go back.
Food was delicious and our server was awesome. Love the happy hour selection and prices.
The food and staff were wonderful. Did not like having to go upstairs for dinner when downstairs wasn’t open. Also no happy hour prices upstairs does not make sense.
Food all appears to be processed and/or frozen. Overpriced considering this.
love Kona Grill... food and everything is great!!!
We make a bad decision to dined there 2 straight nights, perhaps that’s the problem. Our waiter was great the first night but not the second night... yes, we asked for the same waiter lol!! bad idea!! We basically have to ask for everything one at a time. He did not make sure we have all the essential things.
The night was great even though our waiter did not treat us well.. we got birthday cake without candle and it didn’t come with ice cream, had to ask for it.
I went to Kona Grill for dinner with friends. Everyone complained their rice (fried or white) tasted old and crunchy. It was like it had been sitting under a heating element for too long. My grilled sweet chili salmon dish was completely overcooked, dry and charred. The service was slow and our server forgot my friend's wine and he served it after the meal. I could NOT recommend this restaurant to others. The only positive thing we experienced was the atmosphere.
The food was just okay and was brought out in like 5 min from ordering which would tell me that it was already made. The waitress was very nice and polite. In my opinion it was just a bit overpriced for the product. The sushi that I had was however fantastic. Kudos to those chefs.
Will definitely come back and would recommend it to friends. It was a girl's afternoon out. We wanted to relax and not feel rushed. It was not busy so that was easily accomplished.
For sushi I would recommend the eel was very good. The rest was ordinary
We went to celebrate our daughters birthday She recommended Kona and we really enjoyed everything. I am vegetarian and I had a little trouble finding meatless options
We were seated immediately even though we arrived early for our reservation. The food was fantastic and we were well taken care of by the wait staff.
The sushi at Kona is always excellent! Had the crab crunch rolls and dining companion had the rainbow rolls. Enjoyed my dirty martini as well. Happy hour apps are a good price and really enjoyed everything including the service. Kona is a must do whenever I am in the Easton area.
It was my first time dining here. I wanted somewhere with a variety of items and Kona certainly had it. I was joined by my husband and another couple and everyone was able to easily find something on the menu that pleased them. I enjoyed pot stickers, macadamia nut chicken, cheeseburger sliders, and Philadelphia rolls. All were delicious!
I was a bit worried from other reviews that the service was lacking, and maybe I just got lucky but I have no complaints. Our waitress, Marissa was perfect. Very attentive, even when she wasn't at the table I saw her checking on us as she made her way around the establishment. Initially the hostess tried to sit us in front of the sushi bar under a very loud speaker, but Marissa didn't miss a beat when we asked to move a few moments later (the hostess was very quick to leave us). Everyone had refills without asking and the table was quickly cleared when needed. I didn't feel rushed at any point. Honestly it was the best service that I've received in a long time.
The only thing that took away from the experience was the lack of upkeep with aspects of the restaurant. The floor had debris under the tables, there was dust all over the lighted feature wall behind us, and the menus were quite noticably sticky. The women's restroom needed some attention as well. Only one of the two stalls were in service, and the one that was had a seat that was on the verge of breaking off of the hinges. Not pleasant to experience to say the least.
Overall I enjoyed the food and hospitality of our waitress. Hopefully the next time I go the restaurant is in better shape.
I recommend the Patio Bubbles drink! Also Sunday is happy hour all day, with different drinks, small plates, and certain rolls at low prices.
I will also note that the patio seemed like it would be quite nice in warmer climate, and the place was child friendly.
Beverage service was quite slow. The restaurant was not real busy at the time, so not sure what the problem was. In our group we were satisfied with 3/4 of the shared plates. The chicken and lettuce wraps were not to our liking, but we did have them removed from our bill.
I, myself, will go back because I enjoyed a Poke bowl and am eager to have it again.
The food at Kona is second to none, without question. However, when sitting at the bar, the less people sitting there means less service. The bartenders disappear for long periods of time. Bar glasses are stacked up all over the bar so the appearance is they've had a busy night and are chilling out when it's less busy. This leaves the patrons at the bar for drinks, appetizers and dinner sitting and waiting to have a drink refilled or an order taken. We originally planned to sit at a table but there was a game on and we ended up sitting at the bar.
We were there a few years ago, thought everything was great. Overall we were not too impressed this time. I ordered the lamb bowl...overall just not impressed with the meal for the price.
We were seated quickly and the food was great. The only issue we really had was with the waiter. Once it got a little busy we didn’t see her for almost 15 minutes while we had empty plates on our table. As a result we opted for dessert elsewhere but it’s not necessarily something that will completely deter us from giving them another shot.
This wan an “okay” experience nothing too wonderful happened. When we first walked in a party of 8, the hostess quickly chastised us for using the open table app reserving a table within two hours of the available time on the app. She said that we should give them at least 2 hours and I responded back with that’s not what the app said.
The menu had a lot of interesting items to try. The food was good not great. Service left a lot to be desired.
My new favorite dine in! It serves a variety of foods for anyone to enjoy, definitely coming back for more events!
The sushi was amazing, the wait staff was kind and attentive. The staff was also very knowledgeable about the food and recommended great sushi and wine choices! My fiancé and I had a wonderful Valentine’s dinner there!
You can't just make a reservation, you have to reserve, then confirm. And then reconfirm. And then verify. Not worth it for a cold restaurant that wasn't busy and can't slice sushi into equal portions.
Excellent food. They even asked what type of bourbon for my old fashioned l!
Great food and service. Sushi and Mizo soup are awesome.
Met friends there for lunch and the Tofu Stir Fry was excellent!
Nice restaurant, good happy hour prices. Service was very slow as they were definitely short-handed. WE had to fill out our own water glass, clean up the table, etc. Aside from that, a super nice looking place and good appetizers.
Sunday Funday all day happy hour!!
Made reservations weeks in advance and got a corner table all the way upstairs in the back by the restrooms. Service was not good. Was confusion about who our server was, kept coming to our table to try and deliver other tables food. Gave us the wrong check. Food was OK, not sure that we will be back.
This was my 1st experience here and I loved it !! Justin was amazing. I will be back...for those $1 margaritas !!
Food is always outstanding! Poke bowl was delicious. Great service.
Had a great time! Heated patio with open flames was perfect and cozy on cold snowy evening. Great dirty martini!
Met with family for my birthday celebration! Excellent!
We made a reservation for 6m on Saturday. We were seated at a waddley table upstairs (with lots of open tables downstairs). The water fall was broken. Our server and food was great, but the restaurant looked worn.
Rice wasn't fully cooked. Servers weren't very attentive. Definitely did not get my money's worth with regard to food quality and portion size. Disappointing.
Food and ambiance were good...Echo, our server was fine but the kitchen took 40 minutes from order to table . This was lunch, reservations made, 3 tables full in entire restaurant and no special orders...all sushi....kinda surprised and disappointed with that long of a wait under the circumstances pointed out.
