We made reservations for outside but they couldn’t accommodate when we got there.
Restaurant was very crowded and they seemed to not have enough staff.
They ran out of our favorite appetizer
Food was just okay this night and this is normally our favorite restaurant.
Hopefully this was just an off night
Fire alarm went off shortly after sitting down. Our waitress came over and told us everyone had to evacuate. Went out side briefly while fire department confirm it was a false alarm. Waitress apologized for the inconvenience and proceeded to take our order. We were pleasantly surprised Kona had discounted our excellent dinner (not necessary) and further gave us a gift card for another visit. Excellent experience all the way around, we will be back.
Just had drinks and the margaritas were delicious; other guest in party had macadamia nut chicken and enjoyed it. Appreciate that they have heaters outside while waiting for your table.
Thanks it was delicious
The appetizers were terrific but our stir fry entree was just okay.
Food was wonderful!
The restaurant was very nice and the food was very good.
The food was good, our waiter was excellent, the carrot cake was delicious.
The service was horrible i was very disappointed with the service of the crew food was good, the server that helped us out was terrible BAD EXPERIENCE and i was not happy at all, two of the food I originally ordered was “sold out”and that was only around 9pm!!! I was not pleased and happy at all!!
Service: AMAZING!! Jayne aka J Knee was AMAZING! Beautiful girl inside and out, she made sure our food was exactly the way we wanted it, she kept up with our drinks, conversation was great. She was overall a phenomenal server. Also, the hostess were very nice and I did not have to wait at all due to my reservation.
Food: Food was 3 out of 5 stars. Everything was cooked to perfection my only gripe was with the “garlic potatoes” they appeared to be frozen diced potatoes with no garlic flavor at all. I swapped it out for the miso potatoes and that as well was very bland, no salt, no butter, no pepper, no miso and no crispy onions with my meal also the salmon was slightly undercooked. Other than that! The steak, greens, and the market fish with Brussel sprouts and Mac was amazing.
Ambiance: Spacious, clean, live DJ, heated outdoor dining, properly distanced. I love it.
We did a couples date for Valentines Day. Service was quick and great. The ladies were given a single red rose that I thought was a nice touch. The music was great and our food was DELICIOUS! I will definitely visit again and soon.
Excellent food. Service was slow. After we ate, are server forgot about us.
The food was good, though I think it is overpriced for what you get.
Our server was phenomenal, the food and drinks were also amazing. We will be returning
A couple of quick things - I do not like it noisy, so I am not sure if I answered that question with what you are looking for, but it was pleasant. A DJ played nice tunes for Valentines Day couples which we nice, and not too loud and not too soft. The atmosphere was very pleasant for the day and we enjoyed our table and the serve staff! It was lovely. I gave a one notch less on the price value because we ordered the stir fry which I think is a bit pricey for what it is. Other items were delicious and fairly priced.
A perfect Valentine's Day dinner. Drinks were excellent and the food was fantastic as always. My only complaint is that I didn't get the points added to my rewards account.
My last 3 dining experiences at Kona have been seated at a table very near the front door. It is cold and loud in this location. Otherwise the food and service have been good.
Our Valentines dinner was excellent. Kona had a special menu for the day. Our reservation was for 4:15 and they had already ran out of lobster dumplings. The steak and lobster were perfectly cooked to our tastes, and the Brussels sprouts roasty and sweet. The server was attentive and they gave a long steam rose to each table. It’s a bit crowded at the reception desk when several couples are waiting to be seated. You spill over into the dining room.
Celebrated Valentine’s Day. Everything was great!
Food was overall good, but blackened NY Strip was incredibly spicy---much spicier than I've ever had at any restaurant, to the point where I couldn't finish eating it. Still, I would recommend overall. Just be sure that you are good with a healthy amount of spice.
We were made to wait outside till our table was ready even though we showed up on time for our reservation. A large group gathered around the bar right by our table which was allowed to happen until we complained. The food was not as good as we remembered. Probably will not be back.
The atmosphere was perfect.
The waiter was amazing for how busy it was.
he made sure we were taken care of
We had a great time, our waitress was very good! There were two larger groups on either side of us that were very loud. Was sad that they had a limited menu because of the holiday weekend. My kids were a little bummed that ran out of ingredients for the pizzas.
Great service and lobster potstickers were fantastic but overpriced
We’ve eaten at Kona many times and the food as always good with a variety of options. On this date we had the angry edamame which had a nice kick.
A memosa and a Patio bubbles were perfect for noon weekend drinks.
We also had a stir fry and a chopped salad that were delicious.
The reason for a low rating is that the prices have risen quite significantly in the past few years. My guess is around 40%. We used to take family including six kids about once every three weeks.
Total bill for salad, app, entree and two drinks was around $100.
Good food but over priced. Nice setting but somewhat sterile.
Horrible experience. It was so loud we couldn’t even talk to the other couple we were with. They sat us right next to a DJ. Why do they need to have a DJ on a Friday evening? This isn’t a dance club; it’s a nice restaurant. The prices are too high for what you get and the menu is strange. We will not be back.
It was our daughters 15th bday. I mentioned that in the reservation. They sat us at a dirty table, there was a limited menu which didn’t include the one dish my daughter wanted (chicken/rice) and why she choose Kona for her bday. She picked the kg burger without cheese (plain) it came out with two slices of cheese! No acknowledgement of her special day - nothing. Music way too loud and the fans/heaters blowing over us. Prices have definitely increased beyond what the meal calls for.
The Valentine’s special of surf and turf were amazing!
We decided to here for a Date Night! It was a perfect place, and also watched superbowl together, haha!
It was good the muck was a bit loud. The quality of the service and food was very high.
Kona was a cool place, large restaurant, we were in the upstairs bar area. The menu was full of options, from all kinds of cuisines, the waitress was knowledgeable and friendly!
Sushi was not great. DJ was brought in to bring some kind of Top 40 remix vibes to the second floor. NOT GOOD. Ruined the ambiance and made it feel like a Buffalo Wild Wings. The piped-in music beforehand was better.
Highly recommend the Picasso roll! New favorite!
Food was underwhelming. Not sure why staff members are wearing gloves consistently when they don’t change them. Tons of cross-contamination especially when they aren’t changing them.
The over all experience was good. It would have been excellent if there wasn’t so many TVs as a distraction. The ambiance is more upscale but the TVs make it seem like a run of the mill sports bar.
Great food and service. Social distancing throughout the establishment
Thank you so much for the great review! We look forward to welcoming you back soon!-Big Al (Manager)
Music was quite high, maybe it was where we were sitting.
