Kona Grill - Carmel
My wife and I only go here a few times a year and every time we leave we say, that was really good and we should go there more often. We had an awesome server ... pleasant, with the perfect amount of attention.
We enjoyed celebrating our daughter’s birthday at Kona Grill. The food was very good—especially the poke! A little pricey however—just 2 sodas and 3 meals set us back close to $90. Unfortunately this is why we can only go for special occasions. The service was great and quick!
The service and food were great. We had a very friendly and accommodating server in the bar. She adjusted the heater above our table no problem. Service was prompt and not overdone. The bartender made a great cocktail and the kitchen staff plated a beautiful lunch. Will be back.
Birthday dinner so fun
Meet friends here and had a great oriental salad. Service was great. Nice atmosphere but lighting is so dark we had a hard time reading the menu and seeing our food.
As always, we had a great time at Kona Grill. Food and service was exceptional and we look forward to our next visit!
Service was OK .Food was served cold. Noise level was extremely high making conversation difficult.
It was just "ok". The food was good but not exceptional. I can find equally good food other places that is less expensive and get better service. Glad I tried it but will not likely return
It was much louder at dinner than I expected. Probably a poor choice for a date if you’re trying to get to know each other!
The food was delicious!!! We hadn’t been to Kona in a while, but we were very pleased!
we've always liked that you can get sushi here and also have a regular menu that is very diverse for those that don't prefer sushi - service is always good here - this is a go to for us - they also have a great happy hour w/ food and drink choices
Very good experience. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. The food was prepared well. We had a four and a two year old children with us, and the kids really enjoyed the kids bento box dinner.
Excellent food and service!
Food was excellent as usual. I was a bit disappointed when we were still eating our appetizer and my wife’s entree came out.
We were a party of 4 this past Saturday night. Your food was terrible. The salmon salad was not good. Could not get just Bibb lettuce with out kale. In other words they would not double the bibb lettuce so we mixed it with romaine. Was not a good combo. Salmon was severely overcooked. Asked for nuts and cheeses to be left off my salad and they got that wrong also. The other person at the table also had problems with her salmon salad.
Additionally a LIVE bug was found in the thin crust pizza that we ordered. which completely grossed us out. The server was nice but the service was very very slow. We have been to this restaurant before and it was fine however this particular night was horrible. I would never go back here and additionally I am putting out my review on my social media. Absolutely horrible!!!
It different which I enjoyed, a new taste. There were items on the menu I would never think to try but they were amazingly good! Will be coming back to try more of the menu, it’s very family friendly as well
The salmon entree left my dinner guest feeling, while it was good, as though it was just pulled from the fridge and warmed up. The other two sandwiches were excellent. Excellent server. Kona continues to be a favorite.
Loved our sweet waitress and the food was as good as always!!!!!
Our server Chris was amazing! Loved everything about our experience!
I came here for Valentine's Day with my friends. I was made to feel comfortable and welcomed. We ordered avocado egg rolls, which were excellent. Miso soup was good, but desired more tofu. Had to ask for wasabi for my sushi, but was brought some right away. Flatbread my friend ordered was delicious and the carrot cake was phenomenal! Will return ASAP!
They did a GREAT job of getting us in and out since it was valentines day... but didn't feel rushed or crowded. I had a filet and honestly, it was better than one I had at Eddie Merlots a few weeks back. Excellent meal!
Everything was perfect on a busy evening (Valentine’s Day) for a dinner date with my wife and daughter. Food was delicious, $4 margaritas were great and very attentive, timely service.
We have never been disappointed in the food and service but Valentine's Day special was an exceptionally good value. What I don't like is the high price of a coke, which doesn't taste good there. I've told management there several times something is wrong with their soda machine.
Great Valentine’s dinner.. Hope they put the tuna wonton appetizer back on the menu. Definitely will be going again.
The food and service were excellent as is the usual case with Kona.
I absolutely love Kona Grill and their staff. I always recommend it as a place to go to all my friends and family!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and drinks. Impeccable food and service.
We always have a great time at Kona Grill. Great environment and menu offers lot of good choices.
We loved Kona Grill...we will defiantly go back.
Server had strong, overpowering perfume. Seating was fast and great location. Server was excellent, except for perfume.
We LOVE Kona Grill ! It is always a treat and never disappoints ! We went for a "get out of the house" dinner on what was a very cold night, with the knowledge that it was only going to get colder. Great service, great food, great fun. You cannot go wrong at Kona Grill!
Even though had reservations waited 40 minutes to be seated. Not acceptable. Very loud hard to have a conversation. Food was very good but not worth the wait and lack of ability to have a conversation
We had a reservation for our family of 4 for 6:45. We finally got seated around 7:05. It took a long time for our server to greet us as they were very busy. Not sure why you take reservations if you can't make them happen. My daughters ordered chicken fingers and pepperoni pizza. The server came up to us around 7:45 and said that someone ‘stole’ her nugget order, and that our food would be right out. So then our food came out a bit later (mine was cold), and my other daughter’s pizza came out cheese. I sent it back. We then all ate while my other daughter had to wait ten minutes for her pepperoni pizza. They did knock the pizza off of the order....but I would think they should offer more than $7 for our trouble. We were not impressed, and will probably not visit again.
Great dining and waiter
Great service and delicious food! Went for a ladies night and it was perfect!
As always, the food was excellent and our server was pleasant and attentive. My son, daughter-in-law and 13 month old grandson were home for the holidays and Kona is where they requested we go. It’s a great atmosphere for catching up and enjoying company and conversation.
We always love Kona. We had great service and delicious food.
Great taste, even better environment.
Not a great first experience at this restaurant. Granted it was New Year's Eve, but it was 630p; early enough to not be slammed yet. Drinks took a long time to come out after ordering, but the food kept coming out before we finished the current course. I don't like that. First, they brought the appetizers and the salads together. I asked them to take the salads back until we finish a drink and our appetizers. Then they still brought back the salads before we finished. I asked the server to make sure that our food slows down and don't put the entree order in yet. Well, wouldn't you know it. We were about 3/4 the way through the salads and both entrees came out. I asked the server again and he said, "I don't know what happened." He tried to blame the kitchen saying, "It's NYE and they are trying to crank everything through." Those were his words. While I can appreciate trying to be expedient on any given evening, trying to turn the tables so quickly is rude, obnoxious, and certainly not the dining experience we were looking for. So that was a big strike against the service that night. Then the food. The sashimi appetizers were good as was the edamame (some of the best). Salads were average. I wouldn't suggest getting the seaweed salad. While it has a good taste, one can only take a few bites of seaweed before it gets to be too much. There is nothing else; just seaweed. As for the entrees, the spicy tuna roll was excellent. The Voodoo was so-so. My snapper wasn't good at all. It tasted like those heavy, wet, frozen fish filets and nothing that was fresh. For me not to finish a dish is a sure sign that it wasn't good. The spaetzle was dry and had no flavor. I'll also mention that my snapper dish was lukewarm at best. It was probably sitting around a while before being rushed to our table.
With poor service and mediocre food, we won't be going back.
