   Let me start by saying that her server was terrific. But that was the only good thing about our meal. The food was so bad. Two of us ordered the Asian salad and when it came, it was basically a bag of shredded lettuce with some dried chicken on top and almost no dressing. The other person ordered pad Thai and it tasted like Skippy peanut butter. All in all, this is one of the worst meals out I’ve had in Boise, and I would never eat there again.

   The restraint a filthy. It looked like a herd of toddlers spent the day feasting in there. Our server was fantastic. The drink (while over priced a bit) we’re good. No reason to pay $9 for a light beer that cost the restaurant $1.25. They have, liked most places, raised prices. However they have raised theirs to the point that it is about the same as Chandler’s in downtown Boise. The quality here is no where near the same as Chandler’s. Staff was great. Brussels sprouts were good, but we also ordered a side of $9 fries. It was such a small portion that we laughed when it arrived. It was barely more than a small order from McDonalds. And then …who puts salt on sushi. They put a salty spice on the crunchy tuna roll. Then they decided to put a lot more of the same spice on it. Gross.

   Drinks served separately with too much time in between. Food served separately with extended time in between. So noisy servers couldn’t hear, music the culprit. Host manager shined us on when we asked the rap yelling type music to be moderated(even though she had to lean in and ask us again what we’d said). The line cooks were yelling their orders and ready items at the tops of their lungs. Very annoying. The food was good! The ambiance was intolerable.

   Our server was outstanding. The food was ok. Calamari was stir-fried and was pretty good, but the serving was very small. I had a filet and it looked like it had been cooked by sous vide and they forgot to sear it afterward. The meat was kind of grey and had no char, little flavor. Another of our group got the New York strip and said it was the same. Two of our group had the French dip and said they were good. One of our group had the salmon and said it was very good but the portion was very small. The last member of our group had pad Thai with tofu and only ate a small portion of it. Their drinks were pretty good but like everything else REALLY expensive. Spent $450 total for 6 adults and a child and it’s definitely not worth that. Now I can say I’ve been there, but won’t be going back

   I made a reservation for our wedding anniversary, and the entire reservation process was extremely easy to use. We arrived about five minutes late but they were okay with that, considering the traffic at the time of our reservation. We were promptly seated, and met our waitress Max. Max was very friendly and helpful with our dining experience, considering the capacity that evening. She was very attentive and made us feel welcome. Thank you Max!

   Food was overpriced and medicare. The ambiance was great except the music was too loud to have a conservation. Our server was awesome. Just my personal experience others may love this place.

    Our waitress did the best she could considering… After my son and I sent our first fillet back because it was way over cooked it took another 30 minutes to get the replacement steaks. When we got them, they were overcooked even more and the potatoes that came back on the plate may have been the same exact ones that were on the first plate because they were completely cold. The server was embarrassed by everything and the Manager made no attempt to even come and speak with us. Great effort by the waitress and poor leadership by the Manager. Over all I would not return to this location.

    Three of us ordered different menu items and none were great. I used to love their potstickers and tempura shrimp rolls. I order both. Potstickers are now much smaller I’m size and they barely had filling-also they were not cooked properly and tough. Shrimp tempura rolls smaller and barley noticeable shrimp or cucumber. The server forgot soy sauce, ginger or wasabi. When we asked he brought it and the wasabi was so small you could barely see it! More disappointing food ordered and will not return to Kona Grill again

    Enjoyed Kona Poke, and am delighted chef was able to accommodate wheat-allergy. It was a good sign for all that poke is prepared to order ... some places which serve poke prepare fish in batches and use a soy sauce that contains wheat. Also enjoyed nice table and excellent service. Wait staff was friendly and on-top of everything without being intrusive.

    Everything was great! Service was particularly good and the Happy Hour selection is outstanding. Music can be on the loud side. Definitely worth a visit!

    The manager was standing around by the kitchen talking laughing and leaning against the window while our server was clearly over sat running around and struggling.

    My husband and I both ordered Asian salad ($18) plus protein which was an additional $8. Very little chicken for the price. My husband also ordered shrimp fried rice which was $17 and had about 6 small shrimp in a small bowl of rice. The music was super loud. We frequent Kona Grille frequently but won’t be going back at those prices and small portions. Very disappointing

    Our server completely forgot about our order and completely abandoned us We waited close to two hours to be served. Had to ask the manager for assistance and he comped our meal. His name is Garrett and he was amazing. Service score would’ve been zero, but put three stars due to garrets efforts.

    I was recommended the chicken over the swordfish. Sent it back because it was so hammered I couldn't even cut it. The replacement was passable but not excellent. It was so loud we couldn't hardly talk to each other.

    We used to go to Kona for date nights frequently when we lived by the Village but were shocked at the price increases and the decreased amount of food. We ordered a coconut roll (sushi) and it came out with 5 pieces of sushi, 1 of which had missing ingredients. This roll is $19. I expect to pay that for a single quality roll of sushi and I also expect that prices have increased due to supply chain, cost of staff etc but I also expect to get a full roll of sushi. The bar staff were great and we do still enjoy the ambiance.

    Service is always slow here. Food is extremely overpriced. The food is typically good, but honestly not great especially at these prices.

    It felt like we were at a night club because the music was pretty loud. However, the service was impeccable and the food was amazing. Our server (RiRi) was very friendly and she made sure that we had everything we needed. The prices were a little high, but I'd say it was worth it. They even gave my fiancée a red rose after dinner since it was Valentine's Day. That was a nice touch!

    My boyfriend and I come to Kona often but it’s seems the prices are raised and the menu is smaller which many restaurants seem to be doing. The food was great, but the music was blasting and we could hardly hear each other from a few feet away. Our waitress was wonderful and the food came out fast.

    This restaurant could be rated very highly. The food is good, service is nice, ambiance is good, however, the music & how loud it was, really ruined the experience. I’m all for a good pick-me up, 2000’s hit, but when you are trying to enjoy a nice, peaceful valentines dinner & can’t hear yourself think because Usher and Fergie are being blasted by the speakers around you, it really ended up being disappointing.

    I had the Rainbow Roll, which was excellent, as was our waitress. No complaints there -But we generally avoid Kona Grill because of the LOUD, thumping obnoxious “music”, but it was Super Bowl Sunday and our usual place was closed. When the manager came by our table to ask how everything was, we complained about the volume of the “music”. We were told that that’s just the way things were, although they have gotten other complaints. Exactly how screeching auto tuned voices and a bass heavy accompaniment cranked up to a high volume is supposed to enhance a person’s dining experience, I don’t know. I guess it would be great if you didn’t want to talk to your dinner companion because conversation was impossible over the racket.

    They had a "limited" menu due to the upcoming Valentine's Day. It was VERY limited. They did not have A LOT of the items that looked really good on the online menu. So, I just ordered a cheeseburger and fries - the only burger they had on the menu. No choices. The menu claimed it was a half pound burger. I think it might have been a third of a pound. When my burger arrived, it was the size of a McDonald's Quarter Pounder with a handful of shoestring type fries. There was more empty plate showing than there was food! The burger was cooked very rare. I was never asked how I wanted it cooked. I only ate about half of it and maybe half the fries. The waitress was attentive, but it took 15 minutes to get a beer from the bar and it took a LONG time to get our food. I decided to order a second beer about half way through what I ate of my meal. After 20 minutes, I canceled the order since everyone was almost done eating.
