Kona Grill - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
The food was good and large portions. We had a longer than usual wait for things that shouldn't have taken that long (salad and a sandwhich). I think having a calorie count next to the items would be even more helpful. Our waiter, Ryan was very nice; however, he was in the weeds so he forgot silverware, sugar, ketchup, soy sauce and we had to ask a few times for refills, but we understood and had some free time so it was fine.
Loved it! Always wanted to try this place but never made it. I'm glad I finally decided to go. I got the "Sweet-chili glazed salmon". It was DELICIOUS! The best salmon I ever had. The staff were very polite. Our waitress was very knowledgeable for it to had been her second day on the job. I definitely will return. There are several more dishes I wanna try.
We did not have to wait for our table (advanced reservation) even though not all of us had arrived. The waiter was great - took drink orders and suggested appetizers while we waited and then quickly came back over to catch our late arrival. The food was excellent, but the menu is a bit limited for a vegetarian who does not eat fish nor eggs. Still, it was better than a lot of other choices in the area. Prices were good too, considering it is right next to the Convention Center. It is a bit noisy but not so bad you can't converse. Overall definitely recommended!
Danielle was our server and she was super attentive. Even more important, she was in tune with the 4 little kids who were hungry, tired and just sat through the circus. She put their food in right away and got all sorts of things (wiki sticks), etc to entertain the kids. The food was good but the service was outstanding.
There were 6 of us and everything about this experience was great. The food options were varied and delicious -- we had my four grandchildren with us and we were each able to find something we really liked, from flatbreaad pizza to a club sandwich, tuna sliders, pad thai and sushi -- all delicious. Our server did a fantastic job and we were able to eat and get out the door in plenty of time to go see our show at the Hippodrome. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Had never been to a Kona Grill before but will look forward to going again.
Our server was very cool. This was my first visit, and I really enjoyed the Pad Thai with both chicken and shrimp. Food was perfect temperature when it arrived. My brother had the sliders, and they were excellent. An order of plump, meaty potstickers started the meal. Overall, it was a top notch lunch experience.
The food was good. The service was horrible. We got drinks, (party of 6) - she never asked for a refill. She didn't even acknowledge our existence for most of dinner. She forgot something we ordered. Left off the salad dressing and never brought it. It was really bad experience. If she didn't want to be there - she should have stayed home. We will not return.
Great food - as always. Service was excellent. Our only complaint would be that the smoked Gouda fondue appetizer just seemed too watery. It was very thin for a cheese fondue, but otherwise the flavor was fantastic and you certainly get enough apples and pretzel nuggets to go with it.
We ordered the pear and chicken salad and the salmon. Both meals were very good. Then there was dessert, if you every get the brownie make sure there is more than 2 of you to eat it! We will be back.
Enjoyed our meals and our experience at Kona Grill. Server was pleasant and attentive and the food tasted wonderful. They blacken their salmon with flavor that explodes in my mouth without being too spicy. We always enjoy eating at Kona Grill when we're in town.
The last three times I have been at Kona Grill have been lackluster and sometimes frustrating. I have had to send cold food back all three of those times. For my most recent experience, the service was lackluster and inattentive. Most notably, when taking our initial drinks and apps order, she seemed more interested in the table next to us and just turned away before we were done ordering and tended to them about something. She then wandered off. It took a while for her to return, with a plate of cold potstickers. It was another while for her to come back. After our main course was brought, she hurried off - without waiting to see if we wanted another round of drinks (we did - but we did not order any other drinks while there because of the inattention). The Kona Grill Baltimore has gone downhill and we will most likely be taking our business elsewhere, even for our regular happy hours. There are plenty of other places to go.
We have dined here in the past but were not pleased with our recent Saturday evening experience. The food took an extremely long time to arrive from the kitchen and we didn't order anything out of the ordinary- 2 salads and a Mac and cheese. My daughter' s lobster Mac n cheese was a bit pricey but we knew that when she placed her order. Her meal was more of an appetizer sized portion than an entree. It was about 1 cup of pasta with some lobster in a very small bowl. We couldn't believe it! There are many other better choices in downtown Baltimore that we wont return, unfortunately.
