Kona Grill - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
Main reason for my negative review is that the service was very, very slow. We visited for lunch: Our meals all were simple (salads, sushi) and could well have been delivered in a reasonable amount of time. From ordering to service took an hour. The food was good but not special. The service was friendly but a bit neglectful after the order was taken. Wish I could have given a better review because the site is extremely convenient to the Convention Center.
We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at the Baltimore Kona Grill. It's anchored at a great location near the Inner Harbor.
Our server mentioned they were redeveloping their cocktail menu, but had a list of their specialties. We enjoyed the Margarita made with Patron & Kentucky Mule. For appetizer we usually go for the Chicken & Shrimp Lettuce Wraps, but tried the Avocado Egg rolls. They were crispy with abundance of avocado, but we still love the Lettuce Wraps.
For the main meal we tried the Salmon & Tuna Nauto and the Sushi Sampler. Both delivered! The sriracha in the Naruto really gave it a "kick" and it was an interesting twist using cucumber wrap instead of seaweed.
We ordered the avocado egg rolls for an appetizer and shared ahi tuna sliders. Both were flavorful and delicious. Would definitely go back just to order these. My daughter and I had two cocktails each in addition and the bill was definitely reasonable. We had arrived 10 minutes before valet parking start time and the manager made sure this was taken care of to our liking. Cannot wait to go back with my husband!!
Pre-game dinner before walking up to Camden Yards - Kona Grill has been a great go-to location with excellent salad and healthy fare options, wonderful comfortable location Split a greek salad with the husband, he had the Lobster Mac and cheese (great lobster, could have been hotter) and I had the chicken broccoli stir fry. Friends both had steaks and loved the way they were grilled and the sauces. Lots of healthy options if avoiding gluten or carbs. Excellent drink options. Service was wonderful and accommodating
Our server Jasmine was a doll. So friendly, smiley and cheerful. Very attentive as well. The food was great but we did get a hair in our calamari order. However the manager came right over to apologize and make things right. The sushi was also outstanding and fresh.
Our party of 4 had lunch at Kona Grill and were delighted in every way. The menu offered a nice variety of choices and the service was outstanding. We enjoyed the tomato basil bisque soup, the Caesar salad, the cheeseburger sliders, the Kona chopped salad, and the grilled chicken and pear salad. There is a parking lot on the premises, but $12 valet parking is only available after 5PM, and we had to pay $28 to park for lunch!
The evening started out well. We ordered drinks and apps the waitress was friendly and accommodating until the entrees came out. One of the plates (seared ahi w/ rice and veggies) came as slider sandwiches which was the wrong item and was sent back. The waitress disagreed and that that was what was ordered. Another plate was shuttled on to the table with no explanation as to what it was other than it was a blackened white fish... far from ahi again. We were totally ignored after that and once the bill came they charged for both plates. It took some time to get the staffs attention again to question. I believe one of the overcharged plates was removed after some deliberation with the manager.
The whole thing could have been avoided if the server had just come out and said they were out of Ahi and if we wanted something different. I'm sure the rest of the food was fine there... There was no Aloha at the Kona Grill that night sad to say.
Our First experience at any Kona Grill was in Baltimore and I am very happy to know there is also a location in Arlington VA. We had a great experience. Our server was very friendly and answered our questions regarding the menu. She suggested the shrimp and chicken lettuce wraps and they were fantastic. Great way to start the meal. Will definitely order them again. We loved the barbecue pork sliders and ordered sushi as well. The entire meal was delicious! I Reccomend Kona to anyone who has not tried it!
