Kona Grill - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
I made reservations weeks in advance for this dinner and the hostess attempted to place us in a small round table in the center of the bar. When I asked to be moved, you would have thought that I was asking for a million dollars. When reservations are made in advance, the better tables should be reserved, not the left over bar tables.
This was our first time. My husband and I came for Valentines. We ordered two appetizers and we both ordered surf and turf. It was fantastic the filet melted in your mouth. The server Matthew W. was great and very patient and informative...We were asking so many questions trying to decide on what to order with so many menu selections great. Following, I went to another fine dining place in Annapolis for filet Mignon, but it was not as tasty and quite pricey. We will definately be back!!!!!!!!
Be sure to request Niko as your server when eating here. You cannot go wrong with the Pan Asian Noodles. Sushi is great, shrimp tempura naruto roll is the best. Raspberry crush martini! My daughter loves the variety of items available on the kids menu and you cannot beat the price. This is a must visit place in Baltimore!
Enjoyable night out! We did have some small service issues but overall everything worked out. if you like huge portions...this is the place for you. Food is always very good and servers try their best. Problem was with the kitchen putting out the entrees when we had just gotten the appetizers. Manager rectified the issue by not charging us for the appetizers since we really could not enjoy them before the meal showed up.
We enjoyed the Kona Grill in Lincolnshire IL so we went out of our way to try the Kona Grill in B-More. We had a wonderful meal & dining experience. The huge menu & beverage list should please most diners. Our Server Kisha was Spot On in recommending the Miso Glazed SEA BASS, which was sooo tender & tasty. The Shrimp in lemon sauce was also amazing. You're Missing Something Special if you haven't been to Kona Grill. Foodie Jim Dessert from Columbia.
A fairly wide variety of American food, maybe with some emphasis on seafood. An appetizer of brie and apples on flatbread was the most surprising. Sweet-chili glazed salmon was delicious. The waiter was not hovering, but always seemed to be around when needed. Expensive but _very_ pleasant lunch near the tourist goodies.
My date and I enjoyed a lovely meal. Even with our server responsible for a large table of patrons we never felt ignored. Everyone was so attentive and the food was a large portion size with reasonable prices. Very quick service and tasty overall. I was quite please at how low the check was considering the great decor and food presentation.
A good friend recommended Kona Grill was, so I went to Kona Grill for my birthday dinner. The restaurant is nice but small. My food was good; however others in my party didn't enjoy theirs. The waitor we had (can't remember his name) was not good at all. I'm not sure if he was new or not, but he didn't know the menu, he charged guess for things they didn't order & was extermely slow. It took over 30 minutes just to get our drinks (we were provided with water until our drinks came out); about 10 minutes later we got our food, which wasn't hot. The waitor just seemed overwhelmed and my party wasn't large at all; only 11 people. Overall, this place is just okay and for the price of the food, I would rather dine elsewhere.
The restaurant is very open and has 2 huge fish tanks near the entrance. It has tables and booths and is casual but nice. We had a really good sushi roll for an app and interesting cocktails which were also good. The entrees came out super fast like as soon as the 2 of us finished the roll we were sharing. Too fast. Maybe because it was New Years Eve. Server was pretty good and seemed to handle the crowd. My fiance and I both got fish. My dinner was lukewarm which bothers me a bit. It was also supposed to come with jasmine rice but seemed like plain white rice to me. All in all both dinners were good. It was not that expensive so for the price I would go back. I would probably just do sushi next time as they had a wide variety.
We had dinner there new years eve. It was the perfect place for us! We started with cocktails, I had the pineapple honey mojito which was very tasty! Then we split an appetizer of the chicken lettuce wraps. These were amazing and the hot sauce was awesome!! I could have made a meal out of this dish!! For the entrees 2 of us got the sea bass, 1 person got the ahi tuna and the other person got a steak. The sea bass was perfect and very flavorful Only complaint was the mash potatoes with the steak tasted microwaved. They were "gluey". Dessert was the brownie a la mode. Probably the best brownie I have ever had!
Overall the food was very, very good, and the service was good . I would definitely go back and definitely recommend the restaurant!
Located a block off the harbor, I feel Kona Grill does not get the recognition it should. Of all the restaurants in the city, this is one of my favorites. The selection is wide enough for anyone, yet unique. Also, the sushi, though maybe pricey, is amazing. If you're by the harbor, I'd definitely suggest stopping by for lunch or dinner.
Kona's menu is outstanding and the food portions and quality is excellent. It was a wonderful experience. Our server was outstanding as well. He really understood the menu, accurately answered our questions, and gave us several recommendations. We did not feel rushed and were well attended without feeling hovered over.
My husband and I went for dinner during happy hour and got the avocado egg rolls, potstickers, wave roll, and atlantic roll - everything was delicious! We also got the rainbow and yamada rolls to go, and both we're still really good the next day! I would definitely dine here again.
Myself and my girlfriend chose Kona Grill because they always have awesome service, good drinks and wonderful food. This outing was no different. What was extra wonderful was that it was very quiet and we were able to talk and enjoy our meal. What can we say we, love Kona Grill.
Kona Grill has wonderful decor.... but the food is just OK! I expected a lot more from this restaurant, we ordered spicy shrimp with crunchy noodles for an appetizer, which was delicious!!! Our main courses were shrimp thai salad and a roast beef main course......very boring! If your just visiting kona for drinks and sushi you may be satisfied, however we were not.
Kona Grill is a chain, but definitely more on the trendier and nicer side of the spectrum of chains. The food is reasonably priced for the quality, which overall is quite good. This particular location is convenient being in the Inner Harbor and also because there is a Charm City Circulator pickup/drop off right in front for the Banner and Orange routes. We come here quite often as a result. The happy hour specials are also great.
Had a reservation for 9. Food came out on time and all at once. Appetizers were great (Avocado Egg Rolls and the pot stickers). Plates are reasonably priced. A good amount of food for each meal. Very friendly service that did a great job explaining the different dishes and seasonings.
I work in the building upstairs and while there are many choices close by, Kona is a favorite of mine and many of my co-workers. Excellent and diverse menu and quick service, which is always a good thing on lunch break. Food is always excellent and the waitstaff is friendly.
There are few things to find fault with at the Kona Grill, a somewhat seasonal menu, with standards that are always available. The sushi selection is good and the preparation is near perfect. The wait staff is attentive, without being annoying. The one thing that I have noticed as of late, The Kona Grill was more always more upscale or business casual, but as of late it seems that straight casual is acceptable and not only with the patrons, but the staff has become much more relaxed about their appearance. This is the one disappointment I have. For an establishment that uses the finest ingredients and presents such artistically created dishes, the staff should look equally well presented.
This was our 5th visit to The Kona Grill. We went in for a late dinner on a cold Friday night so we elected to sit in the bar area near to the fire pit. Our server was pleasant but had tables in the bar area and the main dining room, so he wasn't always around when we needed something. The food was very good - served nice and hot. The menu is very eclectic, and has a wide variety to appeal to all appetites.
