Kona Grill - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
My friend and I had dinner to celebrate my birthday. I appreciated the $15 off coupon received in the mail. Really Cool!!
Our waitress Nicole was fantastic. Her personality was infectious and she was attentive to our needs and request throughout the evening.
The food was incredible and well-prepared. Possibly, the best fish we have dine in in years.
I’ll be back😊
Some of the worst service I’ve experienced in a long time. We were not asked if we would like to order drinks but were rushed by the surly waiter to immediately place an order for food. I don’t know when I’ve felt more like I was inconveniencing someone than I did when encounters Ng our waiter. Several plates were brought out and then 10-15 minutes later a couple more and the food nap meal was served as the first of our group was finishing up. Sushi was good but the meals from me the kitchen were very bad, including pad Thai that was inedible pasty. Never again.
As always this restaurant provided phenomenal service and great food. My group goes every year for New Year’s Eve with a mix of adults and small children. They are very accommodating from when we show up (even with having more people than we reserved for;) to when we leave. Everyone we encounter are so nice and friendly and go out of their way to help and serve us. The food and drinks are wonderful too. We all love this place!
overall, this was a great fit for my vegan and GF dining companions for a casual Xmas eve dinner. our only issue, relatively minor, was that our 2nd round of drinks weren't made correctly. our awesome server acknowledged this was true, and went back to the bartender to correct our beverages. we were surprised to hear that the new bartender had already closed down the bar and she was unwilling to remake them, such that the manager had to do it instead. a bartender that refuses to make drinks (or remake drinks that weren't correct) sounds like an unemployed bartender, or one that should be.
Jilani made the evening very special for us. We had dinner reservations post a very wet and unexpectedly cold Ravens game. Jilani delivered our much needed hot tea promptly and engaged some very soggy fans. His recommendations for the meal and coordinated the flow of our dinner with the kitchen well. The special treat was the HUGE carrot cake everyone received on Christmas Eve-Eve (the 23rd) added a nice festive touch to the restaurant atmosphere and had every guest leaving with the memory of a great meal and a welcoming and friendly staff. Well done! Not only will the 505+ parents return, the 21 yr old and 19yr were very impressed with the liveliness of the spot and potential as a hot spot (when the younger is the appropriate age of course).
We ahve been here before and loved it then. We were even more impressed on this second visit. We don't usually come to Baltimore but when we do come Kona Grill will be a go-to location for us. Even sitting next to a party of 10 wasn't too bad. My wife and I shared the Pad Thai and got our own sushi rolls. Very affordable and yet quality far surpasses the price. Give it a try!
The food and staff at Kona Grill Baltimore was just outstanding and pleasing to everyone's diverse tastes. We were greeted in a prompt, friendly, and professional manner and seated immediately where within seconds our wait-staff was attending to our every needs. The drinks were fresh and delightful, the water was nicely chilled and refreshed frequently. The menu was filled with surprises and the wait-staff knew about each dish and how to describe them to fit our taste buds. I invite you to try the Melted Smoked Gouda with pretzel bits and apples, wow!
However, there were many other choices that I also wanted to choose from for our first course too, next time...another appetizer.
Our proteins of beef and chicken were amazing alsong with the starches and fresh veggies cooked perfectly...amazing asparagus! We hit the dinner rush just before the showtimes, but that did not stop the staff from producing the right amount of food for the entire house and they even had two checkouts so that there was no delay in processing your check and to be on your way. We however, stayed around to relax and we were never asked to move or put pressure on in any way.
We did see the management staff being extremely helpful and engaging with the customers and we want to thank the General Mangager Jay for even stopping by to see that we were enjoying our evening and our meal. How wonderfully professional that he would greet anyone in his resturant! Great location with plenty of parking in the area and right next to the Inner Harbor of Baltimore, Maryland; the convention center and short walks to Oriole Park and Ravens Stadium.
Enjoy your dining experience!
The first time that I have gone to a Kona Grill. It is not bad but not memorable. Usually when you try to do as much as they do by way of your menu, you get mediocracy. Its great for a quick bite or if you are looking for something between bar food and a really nice restaurant.
Our servicer (Cena, I think was her name) was really nice, polite and attentive.
The food was awesome as usual. I had the avacado chicken club which was perfect, a little messy to eat but so delicious. My friend had the pad tye (sp?) w/chicken & shrimp and it looked really good.
We will be back, probably next week! :)
We enjoyed a very nice lunch at Kona Grill. We had two of our regular favorites from the menu, the macadamia nut chicken and the Kona chopped salad. Both were well- prepared and delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. We are very glad Kona is in our neighborhood.
First time at Kona Grill and very nicely surprised. Went to celebrate our anniversary and found the food and service to be terrific. We told our waiter we wanted to take our time and we actually were able to relax and enjoy our drinks, appetizers and meals at a leisurely pace. The aquarium at the entrance was also very enjoyable to see.
It was the Thursday night of a Raven’s Home football game. The bar was crowded but the restaurant, not so much. We had reservations so had no problem getting our table. The server was friendly enough but it took almost 40 minutes to get our drinks. She offered bread for the table, which we never got. Everything took a long time - most especially anything that had to go with drinks. Took a long time to get the check settled. The management should have staffed better in light of the football game crowds! Food was tasty enough but it was not worth a two hour dinner.
My date didn't like her meal at all and I couldn't eat mine -- a hamburger ordered medium rare that came out as a hockey puck. The server agreed with me it was wrong and offered to have it redone but because of how long it took to get the meal, we didn't have time to wait and I had to run off to an appointment hungry. They did take the cost of the burger off our check but it still was not a pleasant experience.
Swatting away fruit flies the entire time, waiting for 45 minutes between ordering and getting food, our appetizers and entrees coming out 5 minutes apart, and not seeing our server that entire 45 minutes. Not a great start to the only night we were in Baltimore.
