Loved just about everything about Kona Grill other than the fact that they could not seat us until 25 minutes after our reservation. They had empty tables, but they could not handle the demand with their staff. Once seated, the service was expedient and excellent.

I used to love Kona and would go there all the time. Was incredibly disappointed with my last meal there. Even though I had a reservation, I had to wait 15 minutes to get seated. Miso soup was cold and no one brought me chili glaze for my salmon even when asked twice. Manager told me they were going to discount my check accordingly but never did. Asked three times for a refill of my water which never occurred. Food was mediocre even though priced extravagantly.

We’ve eaten at many similar place; ordered Sea Bass, much too small a portion for &40, came only with bok choy. I asked for rice to go with the fish & they charged me $8 for a small bowl of plain rice!! Also had Hamachi (yellowtail) sashimi which we’ve had many times, again poor value, 5 small, thin slices for $25! We’ve NEVER paid so much for so little amount of food!! Japanese dishes can be more expensive, we’ve had this cuisine all over the US & abroad, but this was the terrible! Anything you can do to compensate in some way?

This location was not great. In An office building and in the middle of the city surrounded by people trying to use their restroom and charge phones outside the front entrance. Wait staff was slow and rude. Drinks Were expensive, small, and watered down. Food all seemed like defrosted frozen meals Including the expensive ribeye that had no seasoning and the salmon full of bones on top of dishwater rice. No thanks. Would not visit again.

Our server, Sam, was most helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. We were celebrating a retirement, and she just made it fun for us. The appetizers/happy hour came out hot and delicious. We enjoyed our visit.

Friendly professional service. Quality was excellent overall but many items from the Chicken & Shrimp Lettuce Wraps to even the side of tomato with the red sloppy joe burger was salty. The fires were salty, but undercooked and not crispy at all. However, the sushi was delicious.

I made the reservation and noted it was a birthday celebration. The restaurant never acknowledged it. I requested a booth and was seated at a table where there were 3 booths available. Then they moved us to a dirty booth. We had to walk back to the hostess station and wait for the table to be cleared. We ordered drinks with the manager. 20 ins later a server asked for our drink order. I ordered a bourbon on the rocks and it came in a soda/iced tea glass. Appetizers came fairly quickly - but there was no cutlery on the table. It took 11 mins to get some. Now the appetizers are cold. Ordered ribs with sauce on the side - ribs came out covered in sauce...things never improved.

Great 9PM to close happy hour menu. Disappointing not all of the cocktails are on the happy hour menu. The happy hour menu items were not overly salted and excellent overall.

We were hungry and tired and Kona Grill was convenient to our hotel. To our delight the food was delicious, and the bartender Janae could not have been more attentive. It was a welcome end to a day of travel and touring.

It is hard to say anything good about Kona Grill. The place looks like it’s all run down and doesn’t really care. Everything tasted off, old or just heated up. This place is more like a watering hole than a restaurant. Nope. Not a fan.

Was really happy we chose to have dinner there after the game. Fresh, delicious food. Dan the manager came to check in on us and was very nice. Really good experience. Look forward to next visit. Also a huge fan of the aquarium there!

Went for the first time during restaurant week. Despite not being busy, it took at least ten minutes for our server to greet us. The margarita tasted awful but the manager was nice enough to remake it and it was good. The mashed potatoes and ribeye meatballs were room temperature when they arrived and we were there for close to two hours. Music was good and the staff were nice but I wouldn’t recommend going here based off this experience. I will be back though to check out the late night happy hour…stay tuned!

The overall experience was fine. Had to wait a bit for our server to greet us and take drink orders. The bar staff didn’t seem too busy but the drinks took awhile to arrive. Our booth was never set up with utensils and napkins and we had to ask for them when the entrees arrived. The sushi rolls and entrees were excellent and our server was very apologetic for any delays.

We selected from a special restaurant week menu. We all chose a different first course (sushi roll, salad, and a very unique meatball appetizer) and they were all delicious. We all order the prime rib medium rare and all three were served well overcooked. It was pretty disappointing considering they presented steak as one of the restaurant’s specialties. The dessert course was good.

Food was good but had some of the worst service I've ever experienced. Waiter took over an hour for each order of drinks even when it was late at night and the restaurant was completely empty. Was expecting an 1.5 hour dinner, but was stuck there for 3 hours due to the slow service with no refills of water.

I went to Kona on a Tuesday during restaurant week. Had to ask the greeter for restaurant week menu. They didn’t have prime rib even though it was an option on the restaurant week menu. Our entrees came out 15-20 minutes apart. Ordered a beer, waited 15 minutes..cancelled the beer ordered. Desserts came out 10 minutes apart. The manager was new to this location and very understanding when we shared our experience.

I was not impressed with the service, ambience or the food. We sat for 30 minutes before someone came to take our order. Our drink had a hair in it and the food didn’t taste very good. I would not recommend and will not be returning.

I visited for restaurant week on a Friday. It was not overly crowded. I was seated promptly. My order was taken right away. Shardae and Jontae (my aplologies if I misspelled their names) wewxAMAZING. Top notch service. The food was good. The Ribeye meatballs were wonderful. The surf and turf were okay. The steak and green beans were cooked to perfection, and the shrimp was a bit overdone. All could have used more seasoning. The drinks were great. My only complaints were that my initial drink took 45 minutes to get to the table, and they ran out of ice cream to go with my Brownie. It will definitely visit again.

If this were our first visit to KG I might not recommend it. Normally this a great place to eat if you are in Baltimore for a concert, game, aquarium, etc. but make a reservation or you won’t get in even though it may appear to be empty, Food is great but service is always slow so give plenty of time. Macadamia chicken was delicious, not sure why they serve this with bland mashed potatoes. Sushi was delicious. Bento box for kids meal was great, our 7 year old was very happy with his meal. Calamari appetizer was served after we got our entrees, and wasn’t cooked properly - coating was missing from many pieces. Drinks were very slow coming from the bar even though the restaurant was nearly empty at 430 pm. Second mojito ordered when our entrees arrived came with dessert. Butter cake is yummy, Servers were very pleasant, but no one seemed interested in clearing our plates before dessert arrived. We have had better experiences here.

Everything about our experience was terrible. The floor was sticky, our waiters had no clue what they were doing, and the food was sloppy and tasted like hand sanitizer. We finally paid or $180 bill after 90 minutes of this awful situation because our servers were nowhere to be found. Avoid this place!

UPDATE: We returned to the restaurant after our convention ended for the day to have a more detailed discussion with the manager. He was extremely kind and respectful and apologized sincerely multiple times. He is new to this location, and was mortified that our experience was an absolute nightmare. He offered us a table and let us order food and drinks on him to make up for our experience. This does not excuse what happened, but he did his best to make it right! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I wish I could give the Baltimore location 0 stars. We were in town for a convention and stopped here for lunch because it was close by and sounded good. We made a reservation early that morning because we predicted it would be busy with the large conference group. We waited at our table for an hour and a half after we sat and ordered and never got our food. The restaurant was crowded, but tables around us got food and drinks while we continued to wait. We watched tables sit and then leave when they were told the kitchen was backed up. Our server never mentioned any kitchen issues to us, and reassured us that our food was coming when asked. When we still had nothing, and needed to leave, we asked to speak to a manager. He was apologetic and was able to cancel our charges, but we found out when we asked to get our food to go that the ticket must have never even made it to the kitchen, because our food orders still did not seem to exist. We never got our food, left empty handed, and were late for our afternoon conference session by at least half an hour.

We usually have a good time but we were greeted by a gentleman texting on his phone who didn’t speak until he was done his message who also had his underwear hanging out of his pants. The waiter was not inviting or welcoming at all. Straight forward, what can I get you, never asked if we needed refills or anything. After 10pm you wouldn’t expect to hear screaming children crying in a restaurant of adults. Food was good but the service and employees definitely need more training on customer service and etiquette.
