This is the last time I will dine at Kona Grill. Our appetizer took long to arrive, but was delicious. The entrees took over an hour to arrive. Management nor the waitress tried to offer anything during the wait other than to say they were backlogged. After we complained, magically the food appeared that at best was room temperature. Do not bother saying you will address this with your staff. Based on recent reviews, either the staff or management have no interest to fix the problem or a clue how to run a restaurant. Truly disappointed.
Ordered appetizers that didn’t arrive for 45 minutes, server did not take drink or refill drinks regularly. Dinners didn’t come out until we had been there for over an hour and a half. And when it did come out, it wasn’t hot. Rice was cold, and the only thing that was warm was the protein and what was touching the protein. Manager came over and we let her know the issue. Nothing comped, and it didn’t seem to hurry things along either. NEVER going back. There are better places to eat in Atlanta.

We went to KG on 4/13 for our anniversary dinner. I had made a special request for either a flower or card on the table through the reservation, but that didn't materialize. So I had some issues with the service overall and generally I'm not tough on reviews. I asked our server about changing the channel on the outside TV (right in front of us) as we got the pleasure of enjoying a legal ad about talcum powder all evening while waiting for our food (about an hour). Really? Nothing happened about either when I asked about changing it or the table decoration not even an explanation. Probably busy but still Not appreciated.
The service side could have been better. The food was good but I would not recommend ordering beef. Had a ribeye with sushi, and the sushi was very good. Due to the occassion I hoped for more. I think to be fair most restaurants are struggling with staffing right now and probably will be until September 2021 thanks to some in Congress.
It was nice to sit outside but was not a romantic place. About all I can say.
The salads came out significantly after the hot food so half the people were done before half of us started eating. I asked for dressing on side but it was tossed in the salad. Salad was supposed to be chopped but it wasn’t. The bacon was a big blob of fat and not really cooked. The server disappeared for long periods of time. She never came by and offered to refill our coffee. I won’t be back.

Waitress was not attentive to table and there was a wait time of nearly 7-8 minutes of her just chatting it up with another table. Ordered an appetizer as well as it arrived when the main courses arrived which was not acceptable and I even said something about it. I wanted to send the appetizer back, but also wanted my family to have a good time. I was very disappointed in the overall experience.

Kona Grill does everything right. Great food, great service, DJ on the weekend and fun drinks. Very happy with our server Stephanie, she did a great job.
Didn't realize they pump up the music level after 6pm on Friday. Got a little loud to be carrying on a conversation but we are somewhat regulars just never noticed the music to be that loud. We asked server about it and he said yes they turn it up after 6pm on Fridays or maybe weekends?

Met a friend for dinner. My husband and I have always been fans of Kona Grill. This is the first time we were disappointed across-the-board. The table was tacky/sticky… It was super disgusting. We ordered an appetizer of calamari… It tasted like fried flour with minimal calamari meat. We ordered sliders and potstickers to share. The sliders were well done when we asked for medium rare, and the potstickers were burnt. They turned the potstickers over so we wouldn’t see the burnt side. I ordered a cosmopolitan to start off with, that was delicious! I ordered wine to have with dinner, and I got a dirty glass. I honestly don’t think we will go back. Now I know why they were offering 1000 points to dine in there.... it was terrible. So disappointed. 🙁
Anonymous, I am sincerely very sorry about your visit. The extra sanitizing with peroxide chemicals has eaten away at the table varnish, leaving it tacky. We are looking into getting the tables re-varnished in the future. I will work on more solid menu training with the staff, because our sliders are always served medium well to well done - never below that. (1/2)

This restaurant has an interesting menu and really good food. Particularly enjoyed the chicken and pork lettuce wraps and sushi rolls.

We love KG. Always good, and consistent. Ellie (sp?) was very pleasant and attentive.
The server was not knowledgeable about anything on the menu. It took him 20mins to initially take our drink orders. When it was time to order, after the waiter going back and forth asking questions about the menu, the restaurant ran out of most items on the menu: Salmon, burgers, and anything lobster based. That was almost everything on the menu!

Just ate there today and it was the worst service we’ve ever had there. The waitress seemed new and not well trained at all. After an hour/Two out of four of our dinners were served while we waited about 10 minutes for the other two to finally arrive. Basic questions about the market fresh fish- as to how prepared and what it was served with was only answered with it being grilled. We were first told we thought it was grouper, but after pressing for an accurate answer was told it was mahi mahi. Lastly, after waiting for the two fish dinners to arrive... they weren’t warm! Hope management trains staff better. Not worth the money otherwise.

The very first thing our server announced to our table was they were out of the lobster & crab potstickers that were part of the Easter Menu. He never mentioned anything about the Mimosa specials. I ordered the Market Fresh "Grouper" that was quoted $26 and later retracted stating $30, but the Mac n' cheese side item listed on the "special" menu wasn't allowed. ??? It got worse from there. I've never been so embarrassed, as I was the one who made this reservation for my family and friends! Prices were jacked up due to the holiday, which I understand, but the quality of the food and service was sub-par! So disappointed in our experience @KonaGrille.

Our family including granddaughter are semi regulars and we always have a wonderful experience. Our server remembered us and made excellent suggestions. The food was outstanding as always. We would highly recommend Kona to anyone.

Had a great table outside and that’s where the good part stopped. We ordered an appetizer and after 20 min was told they were out . We ordered another appetizer which took another 20 min. We then ordered the chopped salad with chicken which was horrible! Our waiter was sarcastic and non caring. We were very disappointed in our experience.

Wonderful experience dining here! Everyone was very friendly, starting with the hostess. We got seated promptly and our waiter Alex was friendly and helped us navigate the menu, giving us some excellent recommendations. We sampled many items off their happy hour menu and everything was incredible. Mask wearing was enforced which we appreciated. We’ll be sure to visit soon!

We enjoyed our drinks and appetizer. Our appetizer order was not put in on time and our entrees came out cold. The manager tried to make it up to us by comping the appetizer from our bill.

Most of meal was great. Lemon penne had wayyyy to much red pepper but grouper was good. We had a first day on the job waitress who did an excellent job so we tipped big.

Ribeye meal was amazing and cooked to perfection. I normally use steak sauce, but the flavor of the steak was so good that I did not use it. Met the chef while dining and he was super nice.
OK... I was the responsible for choosing a Saturday night for my first visit. My table wasn't visited by the wait staff for ~30 minutes... her first night and not her fault the kitchen was rather slow. So Serena received a generous tip along with my best wishes for her new job. Will never ever return there on a Saturday night... maybe a Wednesday or Thursday and hopefully receive more normal service rather than apologies for the incredibly slow service on the 27th.

We hadn’t seen our friends in over 5 years! They came to Alpharetta, we had an amazing night at Kona. Each table was enclosed with plexiglass so we were separated from the parties on either side of us. Felt safe. This was our first time back to Kona since Covid. Food was delicious! Patio Bubbles cocktail with mango vodka was so refreshing! Serena was our server and she did a great job. Our friends were impressed and we enjoyed being back to Kona!
