Kona Grill - Alpharetta
Fri - Sat: 11a-12a
Love LOVE Kona!!! Always great food, crowd and drinks!!
We have gone to Kona Grill for a long time, and we had a regular waitress that always took good care of us. She is gone now, fired. I don't know what else to add. :(
The ambience is very nice and the location is great! While our waitress was extremely nice the kitchen took more than 45 minutes for the food to be served with nearly an empty restaurant.....and then the order was wrong 🤔
My portion of sea bass was small considering the price
My sides (rice and green beans) should have been hotter
Birthday. Great time
Great sushi sampler !!!
Great place for a meal after a movie. We’ve been to Kona twice and both times the food was excellent, the service professional and very convenient after seeing a movie directly across from Kona.
Service was terrible. We ordered a second round of drinks, waited over 30 minutes, finally cancelled them as we were finished with our meal. Had to ask twice for knapkins and silverware. Too long between visits to bring water, take drink order, deliver drinks, take appetizer order, deliver appetizer, take food order, take second drink order which were never delivered, deliver food, etc. Many better choices in Avalon.
I had the chicken avacado sandwich and was sick that night and all the next day.
Food was fabulous. Sat outside and enjoyed the music and the water fountain. Waitress was not very helpful with menu choices. Other than that, love this place.
Chicken satay was delicious, and was almost melt-in-your-mouth. Most tender chicken I have had that was still completely cooked. We both had salads that were fresh and served with the proper amount of dressing. Had some of their specialty cocktails, which were innovative (but not particularly flammable). We shared a lemon tart for dessert, which comes with two full-size wedges. Possibly the best lemon tart I have ever had. What could be improved: Would have been nice to see the server more often, Happy Hour prices do not extend to the dinner tables, wine list is a little lean. We had a good time, though, and plan to go back. I want to try some of the non-salad items. We sat near the food prep area and saw some well presented dishes being taken out to the dining room.
Very mediocre meal. Steak was small and dry, stir fry sauce awful. Keep hoping for better here, but just never improves.
Service all around was bad. First they tried to seat us at the very first table in a bad area when we had made a reservation and there were at least 3 other good tables open. Next we were seated and my seat had soy sauceon it. The host said “you will need to wait a few minutes for someone to wipe it up. Stood there for ten minutes until someone finally came and asked me what he Problem was. Then they wiped it up. Service was slow the whole time. We were never asked about more drinks. Then the bill price was higher than expected because I got charged for a combo even though no one said anything and the menu didn’t show a higher price. They adjusted it but made me feel like I was a scammer. Not good. I will wait awhile before I go back. Disappointed.
The staff member was riding the dirty dishes cart back to the kitchen. Super unprofessional. Food and drinks took forever and it was just a regular Sunday evening
A bit noisy
Forgot to bring salad first
Side of main course not hot
Overpriced for quality of main course
Meet nephews girlfriend
Excellent service and food.
Great evening out with my wife.
Was a birthday dinner, but even though I put that on the occasion when making reservation, birthday wasn’t acknowledged for my friend until I noted it there. Usually places offer a dessert with a candle but they didn’t.
The service was ok, but the food was mediocre at best. I asked for Brussels sprouts in lieu of rice and they brought me asparagus and said “the chef accidentally put asparagus on their but said you can keep it anyway in addition to the Brussels sprouts” which were barely cooked at all and basically just had a bunch of oil on them. In fact, all the vegetables tasted exactly like that. Not to mention, what if I hate asparagus or I’m allergic to it, why would you leave it on my plate and then act like it was a favor? This isn’t Golden Corral! Won’t likely be back.
Great food and atmosphere. Had the salmon with fried rice and Brussel sprouts. Great dish.
We went for birthday celebration on Saturday night. Arrived early and was seated promptly outside. Cameron was our server and his service was very poor. He took our order and disappeared for at least 30 minutes. It was hot outside and we needed water service. We ended up finding a pitcher and serving ourselves. Then after 40 minutes, we asked another server if he could find Cameron for us. He came back and gave us this story about the restaurant being overcrowded and food service was way behind. No apology the whole evening. And no recognition of the birthday celebration that was noted in the reservation. Food was just okay. We’ve visited several times and in no hurry to return.
Loved the outdoor patio and bar dining. Fans kept us cool and we felt like we were at the beach with the sound of the fountain! Fabulous food! Well plated.
This was my first time at any Kona Grill. I met a former coworker for lunch. We shared 4 sushi rolls and they were amazing!! We really loved it, and I will definitely go back for sushi.
Food was good service
Go to place for nice family meal
Food and atmosphere were amazing but our drinks were extremely weak. When you’re paying $10-$15 for a mixed drink, you should be feeling a lil happier after 1 or 2. Our bill was $200 and we had sushi and mixed drinks w/o a buzz. Something is wrong with that!!!!
Dinner was ok. Our waiter was very good and attentive. We tried a little of everything, the lettuce wraps, some sushi, the sea bass and the chicken chili as well as some of the cocktails. Nothing spectacular. We sat outside and it was fun just watching everyone and enjoying a beautiful night.
Service is awful. We needed to ask for waitress several times. She received my 15% minimum tip.
Service was very slow. Noise level extremely high. Couldn’t even hear the person across of the table! Food just fair. Too many good restaurants around to return. This was my 4th and last visit!
Enjoyed Sushi and Fresh Sea Bass, meal was great
We had a another great time at Kona Grill. Food was excellent and Danilo, our server was attentive and helpful. Recommended.
We enjoy Kona grill as a family. Good mix if have some that like sushi and some that don’t. It is always busy so it is better to have a reservation.
we went to Kona for a Father's Day meal. We waited over an hour for our food and when we did get the food it was wrong. I would have sent it back but I was afraid of how long I would have to wait to get it back and to makes things worse the bill was unbelievably overpriced. I would not go back or recommend Kona.
While our experience at Kona is normally quite good and enjoyable: on this day it was not. Took us over one hour from when we were seated until we received our meal, then it tasted like it had been sitting for a while. My chicken satay was so overcooked that it was completely charred on the outside and hard as a rock and dried out on the inside. It should never have been served. I couldn’t hardly cut it without the table moving. And our other entree was served barely warm. Our specialty roll, which was shared as an appetizer, was so hastily and loosely assembled it couldn’t be picked up to enjoy: every piece frustratingly fell apart. Loved my daughter’s company, but the meal was unusually disappointing: quite disappointing. I understand I went on, which I rarely do, but that’s how unusually bad our meal was.
The restaurant could not be seen from the street therefore it was hard to find. The food was good but the service was not good at all. The server was slow to get to our table. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. The appetizer came before the drinks. We also ordered a salad before our dinner and it took 20 minutes to get it. The entree’s were good but by then we were frustrated. Overall it was not a good experience and we probably will not go there again.
We all three ordered the sea bass and it was excellent. Also I recommend highly the spicy chicken lettuce wraps starter. Our waiter was a little busy and distracted because the noise level was high, but overall he provided good service and took care of us.
On a side note, we mentioned that the ladies bathroom needed urgent attention-however "bathroom inventory" remained non-existent that evening (on a busy Saturday night). Didn't seem like that problem should have occurred at an establishment like Kona Grill.
Overall- a good dining experience.
Kona Grill is one of my favorite places to eat. The sushi is amazing! Can't wait to go back and get my Kona fix!
It was date night with my boyfriend. He’s never been to Kona Grill, but it’s one of my favorite restaurants! He loved it. The atmosphere was EVERYTHING! He enjoyed the ambiance. The server was polite and came to check on us often. It was a successful date night! ☺️
