Kon Asian Bistro & Hibachi Grill - East Greenwich, RI
If you would like to reserve Hibachi, please request a Counter Table.
Kon is one of my favorites and our most recent visit was outstanding as usual. The waitstaff were polite and courteous. Making the reservation ahead of time on Open Table meant we could bypass the line at the door.
Food is fantastic. My kids love to sit at the Hibachi Grill; always enjoyable. Cocktails are excellent!
Incredible service, and food as usual. Been a frequent customer for the past 5-8 years and I’ve hands down never had a bad experience. This particular evening was a first-and last first date. My woman loved the rolls and vast array of drink options. Kudos to the entire Kon staff for all you guys do!
We had a great time and great food as always.
Waitress could have cared less about serving us, was barely present. Food came out at different times and my fiance had a drink spilled on her. First time sitting in dining room, always usually sat at hibachi which was usually excellent. Definitely not worth the price
Moved to RI about two years ago. It was our first time to this restaurant and we were favorably impressed, compared to other similar restaurants we used to patronize back at our former home. The food was of good quality and well-seasoned. We ate at a hibachi table and our chef was pleasant and capable -- not as dramatic as some of the others, but I don't really need the big show.
We had reservations for 6pm and didn’t get seated until 6:20
It was last a minute plan to go out on valentines day. The food was good but the area we sat at was quite chilly and the booth seat backs were so loose that every time the person behind us leaned on it, it would push against us and likewise, the same from us to them. It made for a not so pleasurable dining experience for us, and them.
Waitress was not attentive at all. Only asked what we wanted. We got a scorpion bowl that did not taste right. She never asked us if we wanted another drink or needed anything else. We had the mango shrimp with 75% mango pieces and 25 shrimp. The pineapple fried rice was wet. Overall not a good experience for a Valentine’s Day dinner.
Fun experience with the family. Great service.
Food was delicious and service was excellent
Booked a reservation. Confirmed it on app and with a phone call. Still waited 30 minutes for our table. Food was good but pricey for what we got.
Great time and great food
Everything was fine and would go back again
The service and food were amazing
NYE 2019 Service was good food was good.suggest reservations.we were seated immediately, however many others were told there would be quite a wait .Honestly to be expected on a holiday
NYE’s eve. Was great
Overall grea t, little rushed for new years. Felt they need ed us to move on.
Made my reservation for a party of 10 a day in advance on OpenTable and noted it was my daughters birthday. We waited 50 minutes for our table. The hibachi cook was inexperienced and not friendly. No “saki (or water) squirts”. Cook gave away all the shrimp to everyone and the one person who ordered shrimp didnt get a dinner till he realized he gave away all her shrimp. My filet mignon was chooped up in small cubes and cooked in butter - not very good. And my daughter dint get a gong or cupcake on her birthday. And it was not cheap.
Went out with 6 girls and the drinks kept coming and the food was great.
The food as always was excellent, it is our go to Asian restaurant. New server was pleasant, but management should do a little more training to get servers better acquainted with the menu options.
Seating could be updated, but all in all we had a great meal.
We took our daughter there for her 10th birthday she loved it! The food was delicious as always we frequent kon on date nights. Awesome food, awesome staff and fun time overall. We will definitely return over and over again
Great food. Priced Well
Food was pretty good. We had hibachi and were quite entertained by the chef; his skill level was impressive.
The waiter was a little new, we think, and a couple of our orders were incorrect, but overall we had a good time, and will most certainly go back sometime.
would not recommend for sushi- mediocre at best. crispy peanut chicken however was very good.
Waiter was not as attentive as I would like. The food was bland. Great concept.
Music was techno on a loop, otherwise nice evening
Kon Asian Bistro is not the place to go for an authentic Asian food experience. The focus on the adult beverages and Asian foods that are currently trendy in America, the restaurant is more of good-time party experience than a gourmet experience. Still the hostesses and wait staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is competently prepared, but not overly exciting. It's a good place to take the family or take a date for a fun time.
Hibachi was excellent. Our chef was very entertaining. Always have a good experience at this restaurant.
Everything was great
Pleasantly surprised - upon first entering, thought it might be too aggressively trendy/hip for three ladies in their 40s, 50s, 60s. But enjoyed great creative cocktails and excellent sushi in a fun, vibrant atmosphere. Though we were almost certainly the oldest party there. ;-)
The food and hibachi was amazing! However I made a reservation for 5pm and the hostess told us “the hibachi isn’t cleared yet”, when we arrived at 5:05. We ended up waiting 20-30 minutes to be seated despite our reservation. Other people who showed up after us were seated before us with the same number of people in their party. Overall it was a great experience but frustrating that we make a reservation only to have to wait in the end.
This place is just an all around awesome restaurant. It was Mothers Day this time and we finally did the Hibachi. I only have great things to say about it. Definitely one of my favorites
Service was a bit slow and the kitchen was out of many things on the menu. Server spoke poor English and gave people the wrong dishes. However the food is quite good.
Seated promptly, food and hibachi show was great. The place is very energetic and probably one of the best hibachi restaurants around.
The best sushi in RI
It was my first time here. We were celebrating my friends birthday, her recommendation. The service, food and selection was great!! Staff very friendly and attentive. My only negative about the whole dining experience was the back ground music. There was club music playing the whole time. I love to dance but it was very strange eating with this music playing. There is a time and place. Bummer.
Usually Kon is great but I have not been there in a couple years. We went for my daughter’s birthday. I called the restaurant after I reserved to confirm we were having hibachi and that it was my daughter’s birthday because they do something special. She made a note on the reservation. After being seated, we had a longer than normal wait until our chef came out. He seemed pretty distracted the whole time - egg in fried rice just about burned, forgot shrimp appetizer, food a little over cooked. Then we never got the birthday special which is fried ice cream and the gong and song. A little disappointing...
The chef knew my son wanted white rice instead of fried rice from the hibachi menu and when my son saw the fried being cooked he wanted to try some and the chef did give him a little serving which was great but sort of with in an attitude that didn't need to be. He's 9 and wasn't sure if he would like it so he wanted to try because the chef made it look good :)
