Kome Fine Japanese Cuisine Ratings and Reviews
Food was amazing to see, smell and taste. Service was great...Not rushed and courses came out as expected. Only negative was temperature of our table was a bit cold but could have been the unexpected cold weather and a door to the outside unexpectedly opened.
Multi-course dinner. Live scallop is one of your best creations. The boar special is excellent, both flavors and texture. Red snapper and medium fatty tuna sashimi were great as well. Jeff’s service was great as usual. We look forward forward to our next dinner.
Nice spot for dinner with friends! Main dining room was crowded but not too loud...booth seating makes it easier to have a conversation. The special rolls are delicious and filling! I loved the apple jack roll! Drinks are good but a little weak. I will stick to wine next time but I will definitely go back, I need to try more rolls!
We had a nice time... party of three. Three apps probably 6 drinks with three main courses and 3 deserts was $200 including tip. The food is prepared well but presented better than that. Everything was very tasty and fresh. I will be going back again for sure.
I chose to dine at Kome for my celebratory birthday dinner date with my husband. I had been one before and was highly impressed with the sushi and cocktails so I was eager to take my husband, who also immensely enjoys sushi. He was very satisfied and a bit surprised at the quality of the sushi/sashimi. We are accustomed to our local sushi restaurants quality and Kome is well above theirs. Usually he gives me his salmon sushi/sashimi as he is not a fan, however he happily enjoyed all of his, stating that he was thrilled with its quality. The cocktails were delicious and made top notch- my husband enjoys vodka cranberries and he was pleasantly surprised when his was beautifully balanced. My martini was also very pleasing, which says a lot as I am not usually a martini drinker. Our waiter/server was brilliant- very attentive but did not linger. Dessert was spectacular- the green tea creme brulee and green tea ice cream are heavenly. The prices are a bit higher than we prefer however it is absolutely worth it. We are very much so looking forward to our next trip to Kome.
Who would have thought that between Bethlehem and Allentown you could find a "real deal" sushi restaurant. the service is very personal and friendly. Our server couldn't have been nicer and was very knowldgable about the menu. Restauant is pretty spacious but is organized so that it feels intimate. the hibachi tables are set of to the side so they can be as lively as they want to be.
Edamame was the only good thing about our experience. Extremely disappointed with our entrees from the kitchen.. Probably should've just stuck with sushi. Waiters were slow to refill waters. Shrimp and scallops were flavorless. Steak was ok but not tender. Very overpriced for what we got
Not that great. We had the shrimp and vegetables tempura for an appetizer. It was okay. The vegetables could have been seasoned and the cuts were large, not easy to eat. The shrimp was good. The best was the ponzu dipping sauce. Entree was okay. The Rib Eye To Ban was okay. The chef should have removed the fat prior to serving. The Sangria was the best.
We chose Kome to celebrate our anniversary, based on our previous experience with lunch at the restaurant. The decor is sleek and modern, but cozy at the same time. We enjoyed several seafood based entrees- Char Grilled Shrimp and Scallops, and the Seared Ahi. Both were delicious and perfectly prepared. The service was also outstanding. I would highly recommend Kome for any special occasion.
We go here once a year because my 10 year old likes to go for his birthday. I wouldn't go for much else. It's your standard issue cook in front of you Hibachi place. Over-salted, WAY over garlicked, and not particularly good. Freaking fraud in this case you don't really get what you pay for. It's just standard Chinese food with a higher price.
An excellent experience. The receptionist greeted us promptly and asked my wife, "How man?. Regular dining room or Tepanyaki room?" My wife answered "Two". After dinner I told the hostess we had reservations and the name causing confusion confusion at Open Table thinks no we were "No shows." That was the best nay poor part because f the evening.
The large dining is decorated in minimalist contemporary style wth mainly banquets, well spaced, with good sized wooden tops. Our waiter was prompt, professional, and answered our questions knowledgeably.
The menu has a good s.election of sushi & sashimi selection. The menu is rich with a wide selection of entrées and appetizer seldom found in Japanese restaurants in this area. Nan had a wonderfully acidity corn ceviche with seafood, a tantalizing heat intensifying the the flavors, and a textural contrast between the corn kernels, the fish, and the crisp vegetables. My soft shell crab roll paired the tempura hot crab, the rice and the vegetable crispness.
Nan's sous vide salmon with a sweet sesame sauce was moist with full salmon flavor. The neatly stacked yellow ad green beans created a visually beautiful plate that matched the size Bitler flavors of the food. My duck breast was moist, strong duck flavor accentuated by the subtle sauce. My grilled asparagus, grilled zucchini, and grilled eggplant stacked like firewood, made an inviting presentation, matched by the deep purple understated flavors.
For dessert we had the Bento Box selection consisting of a deconstructed smore's, pistachio pudding, a Japanese "for Noel cake" interpretation, and an unctuous chocolate covered roll that contained nuts among other items. A fittingly creative ending to a wonderful experience.
We were in the restaurant side this time and wondered why we waited so long to do it! The food and service were truly outstanding ( thanks, Jeff), and we highly recommend choosing this side over the hibachi show. I could go 6 days a week just for the tuna carpaccio appetizer!
