We love this restaurant and have always had a wonderful experience! But we arrived at this restaurant, but this place was closed! I believe they lost their lease. :(
Restaurant was evicted. I had planned a celebration for 8 people and made reservations in advance. No email, call, text, bat signal, nothing. Super awesome to see my family's face when we walked up to the place. The sidewalk was warm and welcoming, I would say however that the feeling of crushing embarrassment did temper the overall ambiance a bit.
Although we received a confirmation email, the restaurant was closed.
I'm appalled that I was able to make a reservation at a business that was not open on Tuesday the 22nd.
I booked this place to take my family for their special 20th anniversary and had to end up at a crappy place because this was closed
Don't like the new menu.
What amazing food. My friends and I didn't quite know what to expect but as soon as we opened the door and the smell hit us we knew we'd picked a good place. The servers were attentive and the food was authentic and full of flavour. Recommended ordering the peppered lamb starter.
Great apams and avail (Kerala cuisine). The rest of the menu looked really inviting. Will go back to explore further.
Nice, low key, dignified service.
Food was delicious ! we ordered the fried prawn for appetizer, the lamb curry and fish for mains along with the biriyani. Everything tasted good. Service was ok. Nothing over the top for such a place. Will be back just for the food!
Amazing all around
We had a party of 12 to celebrate a birthday. The staff handled all of us very well, food came out hot and fresh (not to mention delicious!), and were very accommodating. The chef specialty curries are delicious, we didn't feel the need to try the more North Indian "typical" options they'd added to the menu. The dosas were also delicious and authentic. We chose Kokum because we had a wide variety of people (some who ate mostly meat) and Kokum had meat options in curries and dosas, which worked out best for us.
Way overpriced food that is unremarkable. It's not that the food is bad, it's just not interesting or complicated as South Asia food should be. Service was excellent.
The guys at Kokum really know what they are doing. Some of the best, more authentic, Indian food that I have had over the years in NYC. The service is top notch. The ambiance in the restaurant is on point, very hip. Overall wonderful experience.
My Food was ok. My husband's was too spicy. He asked to make it mild prior to ordering. Real photo pictures on a Menu would be helpful for those who Are not sure what to order.
They recently changed their menu, and it feels a bit more generic now. This used to be my favorite South Indian place in curry hill.
Once we got over the old bottles used instead of proper glassware, we enjoyed the food. Loved the fried Prawns and Chicken. Will definitely be back to check out other dishes on the Menu.
