Come to Kokkari Estiatorio in the Financial District to feel like a big shot. Maybe even throw on a suit and tie. It's a Greek temple of lamb.
Great best martinis and delicious
Un lugar que ofrece una muy grata experiencia tanto de comida como de ambiente
Our server, Kris, suggested all the right things, and all the food was fantastic! Would bring family and friends here again.
Kokkari is an old favorite, and never disappoints, with delicious, well-prepared food, served by excellent, friendly wait-staff, in a beautiful setting that can make you feel you're on a Greek island even on a foggy day in San Francisco. It's not inexpensive, but it is high value.
Wonderful restaurant with great food and top quality service.
This was a fabulous meal and dining experience....absolutely delicious food, friendly, helpful service, great atmosphere.
As always, excellent. Service, food, ambiance is so pleasant.
Had lunch with our 15 year old granddaughter on Monday. We’ve enjoyed many a great meal at Kokkari over the years and this was no exception. So special to see how much the teenage foodie loved everything. And our server helped make it truly memorable.
Extraordinarily delicious lamb and great wine. Service was just okay.
The food was great.
Our waiter was excellent!!! He was absolutely outstanding! He has been working there for 8 years.
Food was good. Gigante bean and Goat stew dishes I would order again. Rhubarb dessert was over the top. Service was impeccable. I would dine here more often if it fit my budget.
Obviously still very popular after many years, and we found it fine but not worth the price after the recent revisit.
Great food. Only disappointed we don’t come with more people so we could try more things. Authentic Greek food.
Very nice restaurant, but VERY overpriced. Service uneven. Some of the waiters are just tired of it and it really shows. Others are terrific. Food good, not great. Great wine list.
Wonderful experience as usual!!! Great food and amazing atmosphere! Thank you!
One of our favorite San Francisco restaurants! We visit a few times a year from Louisiana, and we are never disappointed. This time we made a lunch of starters: special of the day was fried whole fava beans, and we also had the amazingly delicious grilled shrimp, the grilled calamari with a citrus vinaigrette, and the fried smelts. Though we were satisfied, we couldn't resist the dessert of custard-filled phyllo with blood orange sauce and pistachio ice cream. Don't miss this
"old"restaurant when you are looking at lists of "new" restaurants!
Kokkari is simply one of San Francisco's best restaurants. If you like Greek food and want a 5 star experience, it is a must. You won't be sorry.
Pork chop was great! Love this place, my go for food!
Like every time I go there it was fantastic. They are so professional. Without a doubt one of finest restaurants in SF.
The best dessert my husband has ever had before anywhere
This is the second time I have been here and I was floored again. They have their service nailed. While waiting for our reservation - we got there a tad early, we were at a crowded, fun bar where the bartenders must have eyes at the back of their heads- they were attentive, got our drinks quickly and made an awesome old fashioned for my husband.
When we were seated, we were served by a friendly waiter- Jeff who spent that extra time to help us figure out the best way to do a vegetarian fare that night and was super attentive to all our needs without overwhelming us.
The food was phenomenal - we had fava fritters, zucchini cakes, eggplant and artichoke skewers, haloumi cheese, the summer ravioli and the semolina custard pastry with pistachio icecream. I really can’t pick one dish over the other.
You would expect a place like this with food like this to be a tad stuffy at least- not this place- it’s like one big fun party where everyone is dressed up but knows each other very well.
Love love love Kokkari and I’ll be back soon to one of my favorite spots in SF:)
Kokkari is always a special occasion whether it is a business lunch or a romantic dinner. The food is always excellently prepared and the staff are very professional. It is always my number one choice.
My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and we had an outstanding experience, as always. Many thanks to our wonderful waiter and to Dimitrios.
GREAT restaurant! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE unstable rickety unsupportive wicker chairs. The padding in the chairs is not helpful.. Need new chairs.
Great meal last night. The branzino was excellent as always and our apps (octopus and loukaniko) were delicious. The waiter did a very fine job. Love the ambiance of Kokkari - my favorite restaurant in San Francisco.
I'd heard good things about Kokkari from colleagues. On a trip from NY, I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, while the food was good, it wasn't great (and it ain't cheap, either).
My experience didn't live up to the hype. The food comes out so fast, it seems it's prepped and waiting under the lights for someone to order - it simply has to be picked up and delivered to the table.
I'd definitely go back but I'll make sure to temper my expectations. It's good, not great.
Everything was simply delicious!
Thank you yet again for a wonderful dining experience. Always a pleasure to spend a birthday at your restaurant. Compliments to the hostess, waitstaff and chefs.
Food was fantastic. Ordered the lamb meatballs, cooked to perfection. Zucchini Cakes, crispy on the outside perfect consistency inside, great flavor. Ribeye was cooked perfectly and had a nice hint of lemon. The service left a lot to be desired. We arrived and were seen 10 minutes later, the waiter then said he would be back in a minute. Asked about a wine, and they proceeded to give a fake answer before saying they actually didnt know. I later mentioned it was the first dinner on our honeymoon, full exposure hoping for a free desert. Did not happen. Restaurant food was amazing, service left something to be desired.
Excellent. Great server.
Waited an exceptionally long time for food to arrive. When it finally was brought to the table, it was cold. Made me think it was sitting for a while before being served.
Food was ok. Maybe I ordered the wrong menu items.
Most likely, will not be going back. Too expensive for a mediocre dining experience.
It’s all started, as restaurant placed our party of five in a table for four, and one had to sit on the walkway. Our first request to change table was denied, and fortunately second request worked, and we got a normal table for five. Service was excellent, but food was not. Three of us ordered souvlaki. Order of medium well was row. We asked to grill it more, and when it was brought back , it was not medium well, but rare. On top of it, lamb had way too much grissle in it. For the restaurant of that level, quality of meat was not acceptable.
There were some good appetizers— octopus, and smelt.
Desert was good.
My cocktail glass came sticky, and was not pleasant to hold.
Waitress was very knowledgeable with the wine list , Food and service always on point !!
Wonderful everything was exceptional
Cena muy buena, algo ruidoso.
Excellent food and wine! Would highly recommend!
Excellent food and service very consistent every time we dine there
The food reminded me of my trip to Greece. Loved the sausage.
Service was great but food was disappointing and over priced
