Lovely Greek restaurant in San Fran. Highly recommended.
Fabulous food and service. Beautiful ambiance
We had such a wonderful dinner. So excited to be back after not being able to dine inside for so long. The food, as always, was outstanding. Everything was perfectly cooked and served. Perfect date night for my husband and me. Can't wait to go back.
Food excellent, ambiance as well. Service as it seems increasingly in every restaurant was rushed. We barely took our seat before waiter asked us for our drink orders, which were supplied immediately. Our food order was taken promptly after that and within five minutes came our appetizers. Our waiter came over 5 times during the meal just to ask how things were tasting, alternated by the busser filling our water glasses at least 5 times as well (would prefer to have a carafe so we can fill ourselves without being interrupted every 5 min.) right on the menu it says we can have the table a Mac or 2 hrs. I understand this is a very popular restaurant but it is also not cheap. I would categorize it as fine dining, which should be definition offer you the pleasure to relax and enjoy the ambiance, service and food without the pressure of feeling like they want to turn your table as soon as possible. Alas this is not unique, And it seems this has become representative of American restaurant service. I guess I would have thought a San Francisco institution like Kkokari would have finessed it in a more subtle way.
Our first, but most certainly not our last dinner at Kokkari. The food, service and ambiance were top notch. The menu is classic with creative specials thrown in (we tried both) and our server was friendly, warm and very helpful re recommendations. We asked for a quiet table in back, but you can certainly choose a different noise/energy level by the room you prefer. Thank you all for a lovely evening with family.
We went with the family and the food was very nicely prepared, the service was superb, and the atmosphere was casual but elegant
We had a lovely lunch at Kokkari. Initially it took quite long before the waiter came to take our order. But his service was excellent! He recognized how long it took and gave us a free plate to share. Food was excellent! I would definitely go back.
The lamb chop was amazing as usual and so was the service. I wasn't expecting the restaurant to be filled up in the late afternoon so it was a bit disconcerting since I had thought that the table next to us would stay empty due to Covid-19 that's still a concern.
We love Kokkari. Always great food. One complaint this time, the lamp riblets we not good. Full of gristle and kinda gross. But all the other food was delicious. We'd certainly recommend Kokkari but not riblets.
A very nice place for a good, relaxing evening out. The service is outstanding, the food very good and the atmosphere good. Possibly some of the tables are a bit too close to allow easy conversation, but there are other tables with a good amount of room. The wait staff go out of their way to explain the menu and specials, and they are attentive without being intrusive. The food is well prepared and hearty with many interesting dishes with an emphasis on simplicity.
The Covid protocols are good.....vaccine proof checked, waiters with masks on & properly positioned, most guests entering & leaving with masks in place and a thorough cleaning of surfaces after use.
It was fantastic
The service is epic. The ambiance is warm and authentic and luxurious. The food seems like it could be basic based on the menu description but don’t be fooled - it’s epic.
Everything was spectacular as usual. Especially the seafood.. cooked to perfection
My absolute favorite restaurant in SF!
Great for gluten and dairy free
Wonderful dinner, fantastic service, great room, amazing wine options!
Food was absolutely delicious. Service outstanding as well.
Based on the food, I'm surprised this place was packed. This place seems has all the trimmings of fine dining, reservations hard to come by and manage or update on the day of, even for a weekday lunch. Hostess at the door was great - organized, attentive, and had people skills apologizing for not be able to seat us early. During our lunch, she even saw us looking around and stopped by to make sure we didn't need anything.
We ordered, two entrees, an appetizer and a soup. Afterwards, we noticed there were chickens seemingly cooking cooking rotisserie style in a fireplace, which was pretty cool - behind a table of bread. We waited awhile, before we asked for a basket of bread that we saw many other tables receiving.
We had the fried smelt as an appetizer which was fantastic with the garlic dip and what we used for the bread as well. The soup was a bit sour to me, but my wife loved it.
I ordered the whole fish Sea Bream which was pretty good - I've had better.
My wife ordered the halibut, which i couldn't find on the online menu, but was quite awful. Really bad in fact - it included some chickpea thing that resembled mashed potato but tasted terrible and the halibut was covered in some type of cut up olives which made the halibut taste like bad medicine.
I probably would not go back
We requested a specific table for our anniversary which our Hostess made ready upon arrival!
Our waiter, Ben, and his support team were professional, friendly, and very responsive!
When we requested a bottle of Mediterranean wine to accompany our meal, Ben, quickly gave us two selections based upon our red wine blend preferences.
His recommendation was a perfect compliment to the wide variety of dishes we ordered!
It was almost like the chef has a sixth sense, because just minutes after we selected a dish it was delivered fresh and hot!
When we requested a special order Ben was responsive and timely!
We have been enjoying Kokkari since it opened. We look forward to many more memorable meals.
Thanks to all of the very hard working staff who make our experience special!
We look forward to enjoying another gastronomic experience with Kokkari soon!
John and Nancy Zeravich
Exceptional service and cuisine! It was our first time dining there and we will definitely be returning!
Perfection absolute great food and service
Very nice food and ambience. But the server's voice was so low and I can't really understand.
The food is incredible, the staff is attentive and informative, and the ambiance is warm and welcoming. The zucchini cakes and lamb chops were the stars of the show, but everything was so delicious it was difficult to play favorites. 5 of 5 stars all around.
Wonderful restaurant. Every dish was interesting and delicious. Our waiter was a great combination of humor and knowledge. And the atmosphere is beautiful and warm. We loved our entire experience.
Perfect Your front desk was phenomenal. Kind. Accommodating. Welcoming. Everything you could want. Our server Valerie was amazing. Everything about our first visit exceeded our expectations. We will return.
The food is always incredible and the service as well. We had a great meal celebrating a birthday. Always recommend Kokkari!
The food was delicious and the staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend!
Food was fantastic! We got the saganaki, feta calamari, lamb chops, whole fish and persimmon salad. Best meal we had while visiting San Francisco.
Dining in the front room with the fireplace is best, we had the saganaki, avgolemono, halibut, the sundae and apple upside down cake, all good. All who came to the table were pleasant.
Hi Paul, Bebe and Mikela,
Dinner and service was amazing as always!
Thank You for stopping by to say hi and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your families.
It was also nice running into George Marcus, he’s funny!
Great! Would absolutely go back
Muy rico todo mis hijos devoraron
El vino espectacular, la cena y el servicio.
No me hizo feliz la mesa compartida iba con hijos y en el otro lado u grupo de gente adulta tomando y haciendo mucho ruido
Awesome food and service . . . as always!
Simply outstanding—food, service, and ambiance. The lamb chops and loukoumades are not to be missed. A must for anyone searching for a foodie dining experience.
Kokarri is a wonderful restaurant. The food is great, the ambiance is lovely and the service is excellent.
A San Francisco classic. Always delicious. Highly recommend.
Customer lunch. Kokkari never disappoints!! We had the best waiter. So nice and knowledgeable. Food over the top. Thanks!!
Truly outstanding restaurant. Every dish was superb.
We were thrilled to get a last-minute reservation and loved being seated near the fireplace. The food, as always, was spectacular and the service was excellent. Our waiter was incredibly accommodating, personable, and gave us just the right amount of attention. It’s always a special occasion to dine at Kokkari!
Kokkari hasn’t skipped a beat! Consistently delicious food, excellent service, comfortably elegant ambiance. In my humble opinion…has been and still is one of the best restaurants in SF.
