   It’s been over 10 years since I have dined here. I was super excited based on past experience and lots of good reviews. The main disappointment was what I thought would be the highlight, the lamb.(souvlaki). Every piece of the lamb contained strong connective tissue that I couldn’t trim out. It seemed woven through the meat making a good amount inedible. This was not fat that you can easily chew through. For $42, I expected a much better cut. The dips, octopus and wine were terrific. The service and ambiance was terrific. For $270 for lunch for 2(including gratuity) I will likely wait another 10 years.

   Front of House and Wait staff were excellent. very accommodating and professional. The special felt an little uninspired and lacked good seasoning. The Pork in the Gyro was dry and god have used more seasoning. Great ambiance.

   I’ve had the pleasure of dining here many times. The food is incredible and literally everything on the menu is delicious. Favorites include the zucchini cakes, taramosalata, whole fish, lamb chops and all desserts! Having said this, the highlight is always being welcomed by Michele and it is reason alone to visit. He is the consummate host, making you feel at home the second you open the door. Kokkari and their staff rise above the rest. The people make the restaurant!

   We were disappointed. We spent time in Napa and San Francisco to celebrate my husbands birthday. I made the reservation over a month ago and advised it was a milestone birthday. We had an average table in a busy area and the only acknowledgment was a “happy birthday” by the server. The food was tasty but we’ve had better. We wont be back ever again. We made a point to share our disappointment with those who recommended this restaurant including the concierge at our hotel. Thankfully the rest of the trip has been wonderful.

   We had an outstanding meal. We had several appetizers, zucchini cakes, grilled octopus, hallumi to start. Then we had the ravioli stuffed with artichoke cheese and wild mushrooms. And lastly we had coffee and the special dessert, spanokopita filled with lemon curd and pistachios with pistachio, rosemary ice cream. Service provided by Mare was amazing. Just an overall perfect meal. Thanks to you all for making our first meal in San Francisco memorable.

    good food and good services, visited this location two times now, both times are good. i only drew back on this is on the special recommendations should be address on the menu ( or seperate special menu ) instead of the having the server communicate on it.

    Todo estuvo muy bueno, el lugar y ambiente muy agradables. El servicio de repente le batallaba uno para que lo atendieran pero en su conjunto comida, servicio y ambiente vale la pena conocerlo. ( los pescados muy ricos )

    My husband and I have been wanting to dine here for a while. I had read that it was like going to a Greek family's house for a special dinner, and that is exactly what it was like. The food was delicious, the service attentive but not intrusive, and the environment welcoming. We look forward to going back sometime very soon!

    We chose Kokkari for a project celebration, and some of our team had been there before and highly recommended. We were not disappointed. From the very first appetizer, to the final crumb of dessert, we loved every bite of our dinner. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful, recommending certain dishes and wines as amongst her favorites, and we loved all of her choices. I highly recommend the fried cheese appetizer, and the octopus. We will absolutely return the next time we have a reason to celebrate as a team.

    Last rainy night in SF spent in this intimate, dark, warm with a fire space. Lovely, high-end Greek food - every bit was delicious. Star starters included saghanaki (recommended by waiter, spot on), zucchini cakes, kalamari. Main for two of us was the arniso souvlaki which I might have wanted marinated longer. Baklava for dessert was flaky, great ending. Service was slow to start but once we got going, all was well.

    Kokkari is perfect for a special occasion meal. The food, service and ambience are all next level decadence. (The pigs roasting in the fireplace are simply mouthwatering to look at!) If you’re in the mood to celebrate, and don’t mind moving up in price for a great meal, then Kokkari is the place for you.

    The ambiance was excellent, well lit, variety of different environments, nice bar! Our server, Cindy, was so unobtrusive and knowledgeable about her own wine list. She found us stewed goat which was not currently on the menu. We traveled from Lake Tahoe wishing to eat that dish. Moussaka was delicious. Zucchini layers as good as home in my Turkiye. The best Greek food my CA born hubby has ever had.

    This was my first time to Kokkari and I went with my partner to celebrate our Anniversary. He has been to Kokkari and said it was a San Francisco favorite for him. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and shown to our table (zero wait time!). Our Server was very knowledgeable about the menu, had great recommendations, and had the perfect pace as far as when he checked on our table. We were able to have a very relaxing and romantic dinner and were very surprised "Happy Anniversary" was written on our desert plate. We will certainly be back on many more dates together.

    The restaurant is beautiful and the staff was incredible as was the service. The food was good - but not great. It lacked seasoning/salt and any deep flavor. We had the following items that were all ok but just bland: lamb dolmas, grilled stuffed calamari, Greek salad, lamb chops, and ribeye. Nothing was bad. I just wish everything had more flavor. It was anniversary and they were sweet to give us a complimentary scoop of homemade rosemary and olive oil ice cream which was delish. Our server was amazing.

    AMAZING! If you want a Great meal from start to finish this is the place for you. We tried a variety of dishes and each one was superb, beautiful flavors and prepared perfectly. Do not miss the zucchini cakes for a starter and the leave room for dessert. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant. Frequented by the business community as well as locals and tourist. This will be the first place I book on my next trip to SF .
