Koi Restaurant and Lounge Ratings and Reviews
We had a great time at Koi. The food was amazingly delicious with unique flavors that made us want to come back. The ambiance was quiet, romantic, and just about everything we wanted on our date night.
The pricing is a tad expensive, but we used a Groupon and received excellent service from the friendly and attentive staff.
We picked the Koi as a place to dine before a show because it was located near the theater, had a unique menu, and had good recommendations. We were not disappointed. Our server helped us pick dishes (I like spicy and my wife does not). The service was great and we enjoyed the ambiance.
We started with sushi lobster roll - excellent cream sauce. I had tiger prawns with asparagus and mushrooms on the side which were very savory. Also recommend their take on Jameson and ginger cocktail. Very busy and vibrant atmosphere with very attentive and friendly service.
We enjoyed our meal for sure! He ordered sushi- spicy tuna and one other that I can't remember. He enjoyed both. I had the filet and it too was amazing. Cooked just as I asked. The service though, like the other reviews was not very good. Waiter was nice and answered our questions, made suggestions as we requested regarding sake, however once we placed our order, we NEVER saw him again until we asked for the bill. The assistant did a great job keeping our waters filled. We actually ordered more food through him instead of our actual waiter. The ambiance was nice and it wasn't that crowded. We were sat at our reservation time and the food did come out fairly quick. I would go back to eat here- I thought the food was that great!
We had the crispy rock shrimp, diver scallops, miso black cod, Sunrise roll and Gelena roll. Everything was delicious!! If I went back I would opt for the appetizers and entrees over the rolls - the rolls were good but the others were to die for. Service was top notch!
Myself and my husband ate at Koi for our last night at our honeymoon in Vegas. It was a Wednesday night and had a very relaxed vibe, while still being a nice restaurant. We were able to sit and eat and drink and recap our wedding and honeymoon. It was the perfect place to enjoy an incredible meal with notable service while still being a nice romantic and quiet vibe.
How a restaurant handles a problem is truly what makes them great in service, and in this case Koi failed miserably. But let’s start at the beginning.
Upon walking up to the hostess desk to announce our arrival, 3 girls were huddled around the podium chatting. The one that ended up seating us stayed leaning against the podium, with her back to us. Not a huge deal, but first sign this restaurant is poor in service.
My wife ordered a green tea, asked for sugar, and her request was forgotten, so we had to ask again.
Placed our order, has my wife’s plate delivered to the table, and no less than 10 minutes later, the waiter came to apologize, saying my entree was not submitted. He gave me a couple pieces of tuna on fried rice (was ok), and said they are working in my bass. I told him never mind (wife was just finishing her plate). A manager came to apologize and offered us a free drink. Seriously? A free drink? My evening dinner, which should have been very special, was ruined, my wife st this point was finished eating, and a free drink is the answer? They also offered free dessert, which I declined.
Had this been my restaurant, I would have comp’d the meal, but I received the bill for what was consumed.
Never again will I set foot in this restaurant, or any of its affiliates, as they really don’t care about the customer experience, and the food we did have was just average.
please make sure that my reservation was acknowledged on open table. I have a notice that it was cancelled for some reason but we were there with my reservation under Cindy Meyerer 7:30 Wednesday night. I would like to receive my open table points for this experience.
Really enjoyed dining at Koi. The restaurant was nicely tucked away above Planet Hollywood casino floor and was convenient as I was staying at Plant Hollywood for the weekend. My date and I ordered the three course prix fixe and were blown away with the quality and amount of food. The creamy shrimp tempura and hamachi fusion were top of my list, a must order! The geleno roll and sunfire roll were also great, super fresh and beautifully presented. Can't wait to come back to Las Vegas and eat at Koi again! Only complaint was the dining area was a bit noisy, but that was due to a large party whom were celebrating a little too loudly ;)
Took my gf to KOI for her bday dinner before the Jennifer Lopez Concert. Her gf showed up for a surprise with her husband for her bday too. So, the visiting couple are not fish eaters but they offered kobe steak and chicken etc. We ordered chiliean seabass and black cod miso which were fine and they ordered land food. We waited for over 40 minutes for their siracha chicken and other dish. We were finished before their chicken arrived. No real apology no offer of a discount or anything, just a feeble apology from waitress who was nice enough. I should have been more aggressive with our displeasure but we had a good time talking. Concert was great btw, but I wouldn't go back to KOI.
We visit Las Vegas at least once a year and have our favorite restaurants but like to try at least one new restaurant a visit....KOI was our choice this time. We were not disappointed in the food (the miso cod and lobster tacos were fabulous and we would order again!!) but the service was horrid. We saw the waiter just a few times from the time we sat down until we requested our bill. It was quite clear the restaurant was understaffed but I must give definite high marks to the staff that backed up the waiters.........excellent service from them and quite willing to help us get the attention of our waiter!!
Ok so just be clear, the food is PHENOMENAL. No if and or buts, the food is exceptional. Unfortunately we caught them in an off night for service. They were overwhelmed due to the Jennifer Lopez concert. Service lacked due to either understaffing by the restaurant or just the number of people who showed up. This doesn't change my perception of Koi. I will be back but service was lacking tonight.
