Kobe Steaks - Dallas Ratings and Reviews
Kobe Steaks (Addison) is one of the better local choices for a Japanese Steak House grill experience. We've been going to this location for nearly 30 years and continue to prefer it to the others. It's been fun to watch the kids enjoy their "same experience" but through more mature eyes and still delight in the showmanship of the chefs and their knife tricks and use of fire.
But about the service and food. The service is always timely, attentive, pleasant, and of value. Every time. The food is better than similar places in my opinion. Lots of good choices from steak and chicken, to seafood like scallops, salmon, shrimp, lobster, and vegetarian options too.
I don't think they take reservations for Fri/Sat, but the rest of the week they do. Expect a wait Fri/Sat PM. The bar area is great for groups. Big and open.
I didn't like the sauces the had one was a ketchup like sauce and didn't go well with my steak. The chef kept making jokes about me and my girlfriend and it was very annoying because I was trying to take her on a nice date
Kobe's has been a favorite of mine, and my family for YEARS. I visited with a friend and her son on 8/1/17. While we were waiting, her son noticed a very large trap holding no less than 30 cockroaches hostage next to the booth we were sitting in. (Blurry pic featured below). Upon letting the hostess know, asking for a manager, and showing her the picture, she responds with, "I don't know about that kind of thing, I'm just here trying to do my job." To which she grabs another passerby (this one wearing a name tag) who views the picture, makes a face and says , "yuck" and then proceeds to walk away. Uhhh.. yeah it's definitely yuck. Also noted, was the barrel of rice chips in the bar area, with a sign requesting to not self-serve. We could only assume the horror that crawled within it. Currently investigating other hibachi's in area that's a bit less "Joe's Apartment", and a formal complaint will be filed with the City of Dallas Health Department.
I took my daughter for her first time for her 25th Birthday. We enjoyed waiting for our group to arrive in the comfortable lounge area with a bottle of wine. I actually was hoping it would take longer for a table because the lounge area was so awesome. She says this is her new favorite place. I love how cozy it feels & it's
even better with a nice glass of wine. The food was great, the company was awesome & we love coming to Kobe Steaks.
I was not impressed with the food. The cook did not seem very experienced. The service was acceptable. The ice cream was a pleasant ending. There is too much better competition even though they have a different presentation. It was not a good value for the cost.
The ambiance and hibachi show was nice. The kids enjoyed the cook's show and his humor. They advertise that they use margarine and vegetable oil in there food, which I appreciate since I'm lactose intolerant. However they did not mention that they use MSG in all their food. Got sick within an hour of eating. We were celebrating my twin and my birthday with family. We both have been severely sick past three days due to MSG. Haven't been able to hold down anything!!! Wish they would add special note on their menu that they season their food with MSG. So others that are sensitive to MSG won't also get ill! Thank you
Unfortunately on this night they were short staffed, so service rather slow. Chef didn't interact with us. If you asked him a question he only nodded. I have been there before on special occasion's and it w.as great. It will be a long time before I go back for that kind of money
Got double charged and our waitress told us there was a problem but it was fixed when she handed us the check back after running our card. We had a bad feeling and we were right. With her telling us that, the manager knew and did not come over to explain or apologize. Only after we left and checked our account did we find out a problem. Called manager immediately and he was horrible and did nothing for us when it was their mistake. Have been coming to this place for over 21 years and were treated like this. In fact the last 2 times we noticed the food was not that great like it is used to be. Very disappointed!
I have been to Kobe but not in a while. i took a group from work to enjoy a fun dinner and the chef we had was just not that exciting. I go to teppanyaki places frequently, and enjoy the show they put on, even though it's mostly the same everywhere. This trip, they put my group of 6 on a very large teppanyaki grill that held about 16-20 so we had others with us we didn't know (which is normal and fine) but the environment just seemed less cozy and the chef was not that interested in entertaining us. Additionally, the communication with the chef was often mumbled and difficult to understand so there were times when we weren't sure what we were getting and if he go our order correct. The food was good, as usual, especially the Filet, but since it was probably the most boring teppanyaki experience I've had, it took away from the meal.
