Kobe Japanese Steak House
The word "KOBE" suggests to the gourmet the ultimate in the finest beef, raised on delicacies, and gently massaged to perfection.
Watch....as we lovingly prepare the tenderest steak, the freshest seafood, free-range chicken, and garden fresh vegatables....all before your very eyes in true Japanese style.
Food was just ok, paying for a bit of a cooking show. First time I’ve been there in ten years. Doubt if I would ever go again. Overpriced for what you get.
Food was delicious, chef was wonderful and funny, staff very courteous and attentive. Great night out.
Fun experience. Although a little bit noisy, still fun. Would love to go again.
The food value is definitely not there. You do get a fairly large portion, but I don't consider 2 cups of bean sprouts valuable. We expected a teppanaki show, and it really was lacking. The guy was completely uninterested. If you have a Groupon or coupon then ya.. why not. Every person at our table had a coupon so that really tells you everything. I WOULD NEVER pay full price. They are trading off the name they built 20years ago, but that has really worn thin. There are many other places in the city with better quality and a MUCH more engaging show.
Chef Max was an absolute delight. Our reservations were first at 430pm which I thought was perfect as it wasn't too busy or smokey like others have complained about. Tell the chef up front if you are there for a celebration and they do extra little things to celebrate it which is such an unexpected amazing surprise. Can't wait to go back.
Our chef was so funny and the food was delicious! Can’t wait to return!
it was splendid
Russell wasn’t there, missed you Russell, and so the front didn’t know my preferences - didn’t know I do not like to go to the upper level, and that I prefer Michael as my chef. I was charged a share charge on my bill even though I ordered what I normally do. In the end, it was removed. I have to give credit to Michael and Al. I could see how busy Al was - was helping with reservations and seating and cleaning tables, and I did end up with Michael. Michael immediately saw what was going on and went downstairs to help. I didn’t even ask him. He just knew and helped. He was awesome cheffing as always, so the food was yummy!! In the end, I left very pleased with my experience. Thank you.
Been here a few times. This time our chef wasnt engaging at all. Usually it is a fun atmosphere but this time was boring. He didnt do any tricks or get the table excited. Food was alright no complaints.
Chef seemed tired and waitress where not on the ball
Great place especially for birthdays.
Our chef was very entertaining. He was quite experienced and friendly.
We really enjoyed our dinner and the atmosphere. Will go back again!
Date night, we really enjoyed the food and great atmosphere!
A big pleasant surprise as I thought it would be overpriced and touristy. The food and price was a good value. The amount of food was good, tasty and nutritious. The chef was great--good personality and good technique--didn't lose any fingers playing with the knives! It was also entertaining. We took our son to celebrate his 21st birthday and we all enjoyed it.
A fave place to go always great food and service and a popular spot in Vancouver
Entertaining as always
SERVICE VERY SLOW
FOOD NOT GOOD
TOO MANY PEOPLE IN ONE TABLE
A decent meal and a good time, until the Vancouver Gang Activity Police showed up to check ID's at the table next to us. That sure changed the mood. Food was fine, not sure it was worth the money.
Seating is kinda squishy but the food and service are great!
Good table service. Chef was great. Crap service in the bar/lounge. Bartender/server was rude and ignored us. Talked us out of ordering an appetizer.
Our chef was amazing, so entertaining and fun. The food quality and portions were very generous. An outstanding experience.
Always a good time and amazing food!! So worth it!!
We went here as a family of six with four young children including a newborn we didn’t have any issues at all the staff all cheered us very nicely. The food was great. It’s always been hard getting great service their drinks take a while but overall we had a great evening.
This was our second visit to Kobe's. We enjoyed it the first time but the safe really knocked it out of the park this this around. Our Chef (Max) was incredibly funny and engaging. The food was amazing and we just really enjoyed our experience. We will be back for sure
Everything was spotless BUT hostess and our server service.
Great experience again, good food, fantastic Chef with good sense of humor.
Great food. Great Service. Would definitely come again.
The service was good and our chef was talented and funny. It was a little crowded around the grill but it didn't detract from the experience. The food wasn't as good as I remember from past visits, it tasted bland and the steak was rubbery. You're paying for the experience as much as you pay for the food and that was as good as I remember. Everyone received more dinner than they could eat, the quantities were good and they will package up any extra so you can take it home.
It was a little pricey but I guess any nice restaurant for a good dinner is on the higher side, the chefs are great and the service is excellent and very prompt .
All your senses will be on fire, from the moment you walk into and are greeted by the wonderful hostess staff, to the constant attention from waitresses for drinks, to the amazing food that dances across your taste buds, Kobe is the ultimate sensory experience. Laughter, exceptional food and good times!
Finally tried the Kobe beef. Got a 10 oz and WOW. Amazing!
This is mine and my boyfriends favourite spot! We come here for all and any occasions! Love it!!
Great dinner. Chef was funny.
Look for groupon or social shopper coupons
Good food - very rushed dinner service otherwise good service - a bit noisy for conversation but quite entertaining!
I like the idea of a Teppan-Yaki grill, but we were charged for two rice bowls on the side and we only had one, we never got offered green tea at the end, I’m pretty sure my fillet mignon was given to someone else and I got their New York steak, my kids juices were six dollars each, and they never took my dirty dishes that I kept putting aside, even though they would come around asking if we wanted more drinks.
We do love the show though and the whole experience watching them cook your meal. The chef was great! A lot of my friends wouldn’t go for that cost of a meal with their family unless it’s a fancy or special occasion.
Fun, really great food in a fun environment
Birthday for kiddos - was great as usual.
I've been going to Kobe for over 20 years. This was the first time that I was disappointed with the flavour of the steak and dipping sauces. Chef was clumsy.
Excellent service and superb food! Table was a little crowded but we managed to scoot around the chairs to get in and out.
Always a great show. Had a particularly good and funny chef. Food was tasty and the family enjoyed the show.
