Way overbooked, had to wait a long while after arriving on time for our reservation. We were rushed to a table, rushed to place our order, rushed during the cooking and it was over. Spent over $300, just did not want to be rushed! Waitress had no personality or could care less if we were taken care of, but it was likely not her fault. The place was way overbooked and too crowded.
Everything is delicious.
We came out for our Birthdays, our cook barely said two words to us, not fun!! People next to us didn’t talk at all, thought I was at fun place!! Said it was my friends first time, very disappointed!!!
I made the reservation for the birthday of a friend. There was another person at the table (tepan table) with a birthday. The waitress "celebrated" the other birthday with cake, etc, but when I reminded her of my friends birthday, she ignored me and did NOTHING. I was very disappointed. Even the other couple told the waitress that it was my friends birthday, still NOTHING.
They also had the grill on when we arrived and left it on until after the wait staff cleaned the table. It was VERY warm sitting there for so long with grill on.
Overall nice evening. We ordered chicken for the 3 of us, for the price chicken was grizzly & tough. Food was good except for the chicken.
My family has been coming to the Palm Springs area for almost 30 years. For the first few years we went to Ichiban and when it closed we were so happy to find Kobes. We make it a point to come to Kobes at least once during our stay and have never had a bad meal and/or experience.
Food is great nice environment and you get to meet people and have a nice conversation
This is a teppanyaki grill. Those familiar with the old Beni-hana restaurants will have a good picture of Kobe, complete with chef showmanship. Our chef, Miguel, was a very capable cook and excellent showman. The restaurant also offers sushi, sashimi, and tempura dinners which are prepared in the kitchen rather than the grill. Only one basic type of steak (New York) is offered, although filet is available at a modest upcharge. Kobe's most distinguishing feature in my opinion are its country inn architecture, replete with koi pond, and some excellent examples
Japanese pottery. Food quality is very good.
It has been years since we went to Kobes we had a reservation at 7:15 and didn't get seated until after 7:30 we had 2 children and it was my 8 year old granddaughter birthday we didn't leave until 9:30 we had a hard time getting drink refilled. I thought it was cause we were not drinking alcoholic drinks? One of the managers did provide us with tempura as we sat down for the wait which was nice however it was downhill for there. we tried to make eye contact and no luck. Sad because we had such great memories of Kobes from past visits and now its not a big deal to go there anymore. Food was great and the cook was super!
We had a 45 minute wait that I mentioned in my last review. I am more than pleased that Jamie, a manager from Kobe’s, called me and responded to my input with care. What great customer service. She was truly concerned because that is not the way they operate. I appreciate the way it was handled and can’t wait to return now. The food is delicious, and I was happy to learn that what we had experienced before was not the norm. Thank you Jamie and Kobe’s.
