My wife and I love Knight’s Strakhouse .It is our favorite Ann Arbor restaurant. The atmosphere is lively and energizing, which is a perfect catalyst to stimulating conversation. Whenever we are in downtown Ann Arbor, it is always our #1 choice.

Very busy on Valentine's Day dinner rush. Wait staff worked very hard to keep up. Friendly, townie-ish atmosphere. We ordered salads: one with steak, another with 4oz piece of salmon. Steak was perfect, salmon was very slightly overcooked. Scallop appetizer (nutty scallops) was perfect, although the accompanying nutty butter sauce was unexpectedly sweet--I should read the menu more closely. Staff were attentive but maybe a little overloaded.

We went to Knights for our anniversary dinner. As a couple that is a little short on cash, it was admittedly a little expensive, which most people know before sitting down. The server was great, she wished us happy anniversary as we sat down. All our food came relatively quick, and the server was very attentive. We never were sitting there hungry, (she brought us bread and our salads before too long of a wait.) The food itself was fantastic, I had the Hunter Steak while she had the Shrimp Scampi (a special for the night.) The management gave us a free dessert which was an exciting bonus! The basketball game came on as we were leaving and it started to get louder, so for those looking for a quieter time, avoid Michigan basketball games. We were seated at the window, and getting to look outside at the Michigan Theater was a great view. Overall, a fantastic dinner. Would do it again.

Our reservation/table was given to someone else who said they were us. No one knew were we dining there that evening so the hostess must have asked the other party if they were “my name”. Had to wait about ten minutes for a table. NBD. Both the calamari and the Chicken scallopini had an Asian flavor which is not my favorite. I should have stuck with a steak or a burger as this is a steakhouse and my family really enjoyed what they ordered.

Pros- fun ambiance with central bar and bar seating, plenty of flat screen TVs , and a post-grad crowd late 20s-50s, restrooms on 1st floor and basement, dark wood decor, seating is booths and tables, fun drink selection and beers on tap, plenty of hooks to hang jackets

Cons- drinks and food are on the pricey side by a few dollars, even with reservations our party waited an additional 30 min for a table on a Saturday night, the hostesses need to work on their coordination of tables, waitress wasn’t the friendliest, maybe she was just tired, she forgot our extra crackers and didn’t know the types of meat and cheeses in the charcuterie board.

We always enjoy eating here. This was for our 37th wedding anniversary so we really enjoyed the excellent food (seabass and filet) and the great job by Brian taking care of us.

Food was excellent. Service very good. Asked for a quiet table; as restaurants in Ann Arbor go there are no quiet restaurants. However, the table provided was relatively quiet- wife and I could hold a conversation without shouting.
Compared to Ruth Chris the steak was just as good. Prime rib was very good as well. Onion soup very good.
Will definitely return.

We haven’t been to Knights , on Liberty, in downtown AnnArbor in a quite sometime. Pleasantly surprised how well the open table app worked for our reservation. It’s a must use for a weekend night or you’ll experience a long wait to get a table. We love sitting at their bar sometimes. However, tonight we dined with friends at a table for four . In general the wait staff was good but I got the impression our waiter had quite a few tables to man.
The food was excellent tasting next time I’ll request less salt on it.
If you’re looking for beautiful cuts of beef It’s Knights specialty.
The wine and beer menu has several choices to select and pair with the appetizers and entrees. They do have an unusual craft cocktail and liquor list.
Overall, two thumbs up we’ll repeat this soon. JTRC

Knight's Steakhouse (Downtown) is only a 10-minute walk from my office. I don't come here often enough. Visiting recently for lunch (only my 3rd visit to this location and 4th to any Knight's), everything about the experience was outstanding. Very few meals are truly memorable anymore, but this one was. Many speak highly of the "original" location on the west side of Ann Arbor--the downtown location takes all of the excellence found there and makes it easily accessible to the downtown and campus area of town as well. Lunch for 3 (no alcohol but soft drinks, soups, upgraded sides, and desserts for 2 of the 3 of us): $100 (including tip). Well worth it and very highly recommended.

I was in Ann Arbor visiting my son who I hadn’t seen in a while. Very pleased we dined at Knight’s. Our server, Frankie, was amazing. She made thoughtful suggestions for our order and allowed my son and I the specs and time to talk. Great selection of libations and very generous pours. My son had a steak and I enjoyed the pork chops. I guarantee you will not go hungry at Knight’s Steakhouse.
Planning another visit next month with my wife. I know it’s to see our son, but I know I’m already looking forward to dining at Knight’s. It’s that good in every way.

Crowded night and the noise level was high. Wait staff was working very hard to keep up with demands.
You definitely get the downtown vibe eating here. Corner location lets you people watch people headed to Michigan Theater, shopping and just meeting up with friends.

Trout Almondine had a nice sauce but the fish tasted old and it was mushy. Bread was stale and hard, had to ask for bread. Very LOUD cannot have a conversation with those at your table due to the noise level.

Food was outstanding. Our booth was along a wall that was covered in portraits of people. Cool idea, but it felt like they were watching me the whole time. Service was great. We got in early and beat the lunch rush, so it was almost like we had the place to ourselves. Will definitely be back. (Today, actually. I'm going back only two days after visiting because I liked it so much.)

Wanted something to eat before a MBB game. Wanted a nice meal but, didn’t want a big dinner. Also wanted to eat without rushing but, not spending too much time either. Having been to Knight’s downtown location before, Made a reservation thru Open Table. Seated promptly and had a great meal. Wide variety of choices. Good cocktail and attentive, friendly service. Will definitely eat here again.

I book this restaurant for a special occasion dinner. For some reason, I thought it would be an elegant steakhouse. I was disappointed to find it a fairly crowded bar-type atmosphere with TV's broadcasting hot sports games and associated noise levels very high. Even with a reservation, we had to wait 15 minutes or more. To be fair, the restaurant tells you that you may have to wait so I wish I made the reservation for earlier to account for the time delay. People were hungry and being huddled in the small space near the door waiting did not start the evening off well.

The food was ok. I had a prime rib which was fine, and another person had a filet which was good. Another person ordered the salmon and it quite frankly, we should have sent it back. It smelled fishy and didn't taste right.

I might give it another try to see if the experience is different since the unexpected noisy atmosphere was a big factor in not enjoying the meal.

I had the New York Sirloin and I am not a big steak eater and I think it may have been the best steak I have ever had. Steak was pricey but it was good. The Shrimp and Calamari appetizer was excellent. The Waiter was great... I will be going back.

I have had good food in the past, but this time all 5 of our meals were underwelming, food seemed to have sat a long time before it was served, and the beef tips lacked flavor, the fries were cold and soft. The server was to busy to give proper attention, even the first basket of rolls were not good, the second was was better.
