Went to eat at Knife Dallas as my girlfriend and I are huge fans of Top Chef and John Tesar. Ben, the sommelier was amazing even before we ordered our food. He helped us figure out what to drink just by asking what we thought we would order. We ordered the yellow tail and beef tartare to start, and both dishes were amazing. Next up was the garden salad, and 6oz filet. The chicken in the salad was cooked perfectly, and the steak was the best I have ever eaten. The truffle pasta dish was absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!
The waiter had zero personality. The steak was so salty it was inedible and the 2nd steak was raw and it couldn’t be cut. The spinach was not creamed but soupy. The waiter never even offered us the bread basket. The manager did adjust our bill but it was not a good dining experience.
Took my beautiful wife there for her birthday and loved the restaurant.
I ordered the new age Ribeye and requested a medium plus which should of been medium well. The steak was delicious but I was disappointed in the texture. My wife ordered the well done steak and it came out medium well. I guess it was a mix up but the customer experience was great.
I've been looking forward to dining here for a while. Steaks of course were delicious. Burger on English muffin was super tasty but just was sloppy looking. Fries could have been seasoned a bit better and tossed in a bit more salad Verde. Charcuterie board was not served with anything like crostini or crackers. Server brought some out. We had questions about some the salumi varieties offer and not even the kitchen staff could give us a definitive answer. They seemed unsure.Used to charcuterie boards that offer a bit more accompaniments and variety. Flavors were good, chorizo pate was the highlight. That was delicious. Been following desserts on Instagram and the thing I was the most excited about blueberry, corn panacotta , thyme dessert was okay. It looked amazing but the cornbread croutons tasted stale. Flavors of each component were lovely individually but together ...eh.
It wasn't a bad experience it was good enough, I guess maybe I should have lowered expectations a bit when I was expecting some part to have a"wow" factor. Our server was wonderful and very attentive
Best steak I've had in a while. Service was great and well worth the trip to the restaurant.
Dinner was fantastic. Service was impeccable. Perfect for a special occasion.
The service was quite good - we had a great server and the sommeliers seemed reasonably knowledgeable about the extensive wine list. The cheese plate included a generous portion but would have been nice to have smaller portions of more of a variety of cheese. The arugula salad was delicious and our main courses (filet and lamb) were cooked well. One annoying/gross thing that I'd seen on previous reviews were gnats. We had at least two buzzing around our table all night ... not exactly the experience you want throughout a $300 meal. All in all, we enjoyed the night and the restaurant but will be inclined to explore other Dallas steakhouses before we go back.
Working our way through D Magazine's best steakhouses and this one really impressed us. We sat at the Chef's counter and enjoyed watching the kitchen. We ordered an appetizer, shared a very large bone in rib eye and had a vegetable side. Everything was cooked perfectly and was so delicious. Our waiter was professional and helpful. We had an early reservation so this place was not very busy or loud. We appreciated the ambiance. This is definitely a "new" steakhouse in that they don't offer only traditional salads and sides which we really appreciated. I hope to return again and we will bring some friends along !
Our waiter could not have been more welcoming. He was very patient with us and made sure we were well educated. He even gave some awesome recommendations. The steaks were amazing and cooked very well. Only downside was the onion rings were a little salty. We were there for a Birthday so it was very nice of them to add the free dessert at the end with a Birthday sign on it. Best part they gave us delicious muffins to take home for the next day. We will definitely be returning!
The staff, Terry, was excellent with overall service, recommendations and anticipating needs/wants.
Food was excellent and we were able to be seated promptly. Great experience!
Loved the atmosphere and our server was fantastic. My girlfriend and I shared a wedge salad, 44 farms 107 45 day dry aged ribeye, with sides of corn and Mac and cheese. Wedge was decent, steak and corn were amazing but the Mac and cheese was terrible! We also had a banana dessert that was really good. Only knock on this place is that Mac and cheese. Other than that I enjoyed it.
The overall experience was good but not remarkable
The bacon sampler and short ribs are the best. I would highly recommend to anyone who loves meat.
First the bread that came out taste like it was a day or two old. Had that freezer taste. We ordered a stake medium and came out rare. We sent it back and it was over cooked. I also overheard the people to the table next to us complaining about the same issue.
The Mac and Cheese was just Mac and cheese not worth the calories. The spinach was okay but nothing exciting.
Have to say I was extremely unimpressed. And would not go back. WAY better steakhouses in Dallas, Al Bienats, Ocean Prime, And Nick and Sams!
The overall experience was poor - from the nats (gross) that kept landing in our good to the slow service. The food was ok but not worth the price - there are too many good choices in Dallas.
The bacon tasting was great - the bacon jam was to die for. There are lots of options on the menu - but our steaks were slightly over cooked and nothing to write home about. The creamed spinach was “okay” and the pasta dish we got as a side was the best thing we had besides the bacon tasting.
Had it not been for the great service - we might have complained about our steaks.
Annual steak dinner date with my nephew.
Overpriced. Way too salty. Bizarre flavor combinations (lime French fries, pure vinegar salad 'dressing').
Chicken takes 1 hour to prepare!? Are you running to Central Market to get one from the precooked meal section?
Heard the buzz about great steaks, but these were average, and the rub was sub par. Don't bother.
We eat out regularly at fine dining restaurants, and this is not even close to that category. Our table had the plastic veneer peeling off the top, exposing the particle board. A bit too 'rustic chic'...
The only edible part of the meal was the three mini desserts 'bonus'- a cookie, a sugar mango cube, and a breath mint.
From the moment we entered, until we departed, our evening was a most gratifying event! Service was exemplary, the fare- well, we had read it would be a treat- but didn’t fathom our food would be so truly satisfying.
Thank you . We congratulated ourselves for ordering the lamb meatballs- delightful. Our steaks and sides lived up to the expectations that had been previously reviewed !
We will return !
We had a great time! The food and service were great!
Yellow tail appetizer was excellent. Bacon tasting was good but very heavy for one person. The aged steak was nothing special. The sides were very salty. Overall, not as good as I had expected.
This was the best steak I've eaten in Dallas so far!
The service was spotty, our main server was not very nice, telling us to look for beer on their ipad in a very offhandedly manner. The server who brought out some of the dishes was very clear, knowledgeable and friendly.
It is VERY pricey
Not much to add-pretty solid food and wine list. My server, a big guy, don't know his name, was a real pro and fantastic!
I have been to many of the best steak restaurants in Dallas, and all have good steaks, but the addition of great service (Jeff) and quieter setting made Knife a more enjoyable dining experience.
Everything was excellent, but the steak tartar was to de for! Steak was also outstanding and a great wine selection. Service was outstanding!
The blond hostess and Jessica our waitress were exceptional. Bone marrow is different but disappointing if you had it traditionally at other restaurants. Delivery of food slow due to larger parties, but overall s 7 our of 10. Great for s hotel restaurant.
phenomenal food, a creative menu expertly prepared, great staff. It was a wonderful experience.
Felt like we were in an airport fast food restaurant
Great atmosphere, great food and fantastic service!! Worth the trip from TN!
Only steakhouse that I’ll eat in Dallas. Period.
This place was a great experience. We had one issue with the lobster risotto being cool when it was delivered to the table, but our server corrected this expediently and with great finesse. She was great, and great personality without being to intrusive. If you go here, do not pass on the bacon, and do not pass on the desserts. These were our favorite parts of the evening, and my wife is still raving about that chocolate hazelnut passionfruit dessert as one of the best she's ever had (which is quite the statement).
We found the tables to be a bit oversized for an intimate setting, and we ended up spending just under $300 for a 4.5 course meal for 2 with a child. They did provide extra's for our anniversary, as well as muffins for breakfast the next day.
Not for everyday dining (less you have that kind of $$, we don't) but a great place for a special occasion and just being treated well.
Great service Food was delicious
Ordered the chocolate dessert.....oh my was it great
Went for an anniversary dinner. Not a good ambiance for a romantic meal. Large tables make it hard for intimate conversation. Had to request to be reseated in order to have a nice conversation with my husband. Request was granted with no issue. Attached to an upscale hotel, but still had the ambiance of a hotel restaurant. Would be a nice place for an impressive business dinner or dinner with a group due to the larger tables.
The food was absolutely phenomenal, but the service might have been the worst service we’ve experienced in Dallas.
Flew in from Los Angeles to celebrate my brother’s bachelor party: a coed classy group looking for a good Dallas steakhouse. We sat in very bland private room with no ambience and no music. The food was inconsistent. A few dishes were great (the meatballs, the bacon). A few dishes were not so good (the pimento burger). The wagyu skirt steak was over-salted. The oysters did not come out with their mignonette and it took 4x asking and a full 20 minutes for that to arrive. The stingiest wine pours I’ve ever had (I thought everything was bigger in Texas). Middling.
Service was great and made our anniversary special.
We stopped in on our way to the symphony. In & out in less than an hour with great service, food & ambiance.
This MEAT is so good!
