Knife & Fork Inn Ratings and Reviews
This had to be one of the best veal chops I have had in the city in a long time. This place has it all class, atmosphere, and most off all service. Our server was 100/100 , he knew every items and every cocktail they had to offer. He even knew good vegetarian options for my wife. I am reaching here when I say I found one problem and only one problem. I am REALLY reaching but I noticed one of the servers check what tip she got from one of the other tables, since this was not my server I did not care to mention anything. Like I said I was reaching to find something wrong, other then that tiny little detail this is one of the best gems in Atlantic City.
The Knife and Fork provides the best value of any steakhouse in Atlantic City. The price points of their appetizers, entrees, and side dishes are very reasonable in relation to the quality of the food and the excellent service which you are provided.. The servers are long tenured which suggests that this restaurant has a steady and consistent clientele to keep it in business and enable the wait staff to earn a decent living. The bar scene is quite vibrant and the free valet parking makes this an extremely convenient choice for those traveling by car.
We were very disappointed. We usually go to Docks Oyster House which is owned by the same people. We always wanted to try a Knife and Fork so we took our son and his fiancée before she played with Manheim Steamroller in AC. The waitress was mediocre at best. She said to get steak if you like it, as theirs was the best. I had two bites of filet that was all gristle. My husband did not like his strip steak. I was so mad at myself for not sticking to Docks, which is top notch from the servers to the food.
Fabulous night out with our clients. Very impressive dinner and they loved the way the restaurant was decorated. Being from Northern Jersey, they are use to the fan fare. Now they can go back home and tell everyone that they were at the Best Restaurant in AC! Our compliments to Knife and Fork for a job well done! See you soon!
Food and service were excellent as always. Portion size on the scallops was too small... 4 scallops leaves you a little hungry and certainly wanting more... but they were cooked to perfection and probably the best prepared you will find anywhere. The lobster risotto was absolutely amazing!!
It's one of those meals that you dread eating for the rest of the week because this meal so was incredible . From the wine service to table-side to the meals ... everything was so awesome. Everything cooked to perfection, seasoned perfectly and served hot food hot cold food cold. Do not miss this restaurant when you are in the area.
We went for Thanksgiving and the restaurant was very busy. The special Thanksgiving menu was a good value, but alas the turkey was so dry that neither the gravy nor cranberry sauce could overcome its arid texture. Fortunately only one of our party of four chose the turkey dinner so we compensated by sharing. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked. Our server was very gracious. The kitchen forgot one of our salad courses until the dessert courses arrived, but they deducted the cost from the bill.
My "review" is for OPEN TABLE.....On Wednesday afternoon, I received an email from Open Table, stating that my Knife & Fork Thanksgiving reservation (made on October 25, 2017) had been CANCELLED by the restaurant. As I check my email account every morning, I didn't see this cancellation until Thanksgiving morning. Repeated attempts to contact the restaurant resulted in me leaving a VERY FRANTIC message on their answering machine. Thankfully, Marissa from the Knife & Fork returned my call, stating that she didn't know why we received a cancellation email from Open Table and that our reservation was in their system and they would see us at 5:45. WHY DID THIS HAPPEN?????????????
Thanksgiving dinner was absolutely delicious. Perfect place to share the holiday with others who are unable to be with family on the holiday. Everyone from the valet, hostess, bartender and waiters made our holiday special. It was the first Thanksgiving that we did not roast a turkey or bake pumpkin and apple pies in our 40 years of marriage. The only thing missing besides our sons and their families was the leftovers, although we did leave with a doggy bag of turkey. Thank you Knife and Fork...we will return. Easter...??? The stuffed lamb chop was recommended by two other diners.
After swearing off K&F after our experience last Easter, we ended up back at K&F a couple of times in the fall, and again on Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving was good, not great, but a solid "good." Had the Thanksgiving special: turkey, REAL mashed potatoes (thank you!!), mixed vegetables, stuffing, and decent (very good!) gravy. You had a choice of two soups for an appetizer (butternut squash bisque or corn/crab chowder), a choice of two salads (caesar or harvest which has the nuts, raisins, and cheese over greens); and a choice of two desserts (pumpkin pie or a bread pudding with bourbon sauce). We were seated promptly at our reservation time, and they accommodated our request for the first floor to avoid the stairs. The room we were seated in had only two tables for 2; everything else was set up for larger groups or families, of which there were quite a few multi-generational groups this day. The bar was also hopping with the younger members of the crowd. One more plus: we ended up with plenty of leftovers for dinner a second night, and there's still food left.
We went for thanksgiving. They have a set meal and it was up and down.
The squash soup with an apple fritter was superb, the salads were virtually berift of dressing, the rolls weren't as fresh or tasty as they have been on other occasions
The turkey was near perfect the veg were good the stuffing wasn't seasoned well the alcoholic drinks were fine, the pumpkin pie was pretty much what any good diner would serve, albeit with excellent whipped cream.
Service was professional but not quite flawless, however considering the holiday likely led to short staffing and a busy house I'd say service was ok.
All in all a very good meal served in a comfortable room for about 70 a head including tax tip and 4 drinks from the bar.
The ambiance is absolutely magnificent. I feel like I’m in another, more graceful era when I dine here. Service is terrific and the bar men are always talented. Food can be uneven, but basically good. Excellent half price apps at bar during happy hour. I love coming here!
It was a good dining experience. We had a nice waitress and she tended to us very well. The dinner was good too. I'd definitely recommend this place. The only thing I forgot was to use my coupon for $10 off the check. Is it possible to reuse it for a different restaurant ?
I have always liked the knife & Fork but was surprised at the slip in service. We arrived 1/2 hour early thinking we would have a drink at the bar. But the 3 young hostesses said they would take us right up to our table. Ok no big deal. We can have a cocktail there.
The waitress offered drinks and wine list immediately. We ordered wine. She immedistely told us the specials and asked if we had questiins. We said no but were not ready to order. A few minutes later she was back asking again. We ordered an app. Oysters on the half shell. We specifically asked If they were opened to order and were told yes. They arrived and you could clearly see they were preopened. Ok. We didnt say anything. The waitress came back again amd we finally just let her take our order but said we didnt want to be rushed. We ordered more wine. I indicated we would be sharimg the salad. The salad came along with the appetizer my husband ordered. So he had to either eat his hot appitizer or the salad. The salad was not spilt onto 2 plates so we could easily share. Then to my amazement when my new glass of wine arrived the waitress picked up my current glass and poured it into the new glass! OMG. Who does that?
Overrall we felt rushed when specifically said we wanted to take our time. Other then the oysters the food was very good.
I would have preferred a bit more polished service for the level of dining they portray as well as more time before and during courses and cocktails.
The food was outstanding, the service was good, on a Sunday evening in November the restaurant wasn't that crowded, yet they seated another party right next to us, bathroom was tiny, no heat, and no soap in soap dispenser, had to walk downstairs to first floor bathroom to wash my hands.
We had a reservation , but went an hour earlier. No problem , they had a table for us and sat us immediately.
I mentioned to our server that we were not in a hurry and she took her time in between courses so that we could relax and enjoy our dining experience. I had the sirloin steak and my husband had the pork chop special. Both were prepared perfectly. We always order the pomme soufflé .. they are unique to this restaurant and taste amazing! For desert we shared the key lime tart with coconut ice cream...forced ourselves to finish it because it was too good to leave. Love this place! They never disappoint. Always consistently excellent!!
I loved my experience at the Knife & Fork Inn. I saw the restaurant on Anthony Bourdain's show Parts Unknown. I knew immediately that I wanted to go here. It's a nice change from just staying inside the casinos for dinner. The food, ambiance, and service were all great.
If your looking for a classic restaurant in Atlantic City, Knife and Fork is the place to go. It was our first time in the Knife and Fork and we will surely return. Our waiter Casey was excellent, gave us some great menu suggestions, he was attentive without being over bearing. Great dessert menu. All and all a great dining experience.
