Knife & Fork Inn Ratings and Reviews
The food was outstanding, the service was good, on a Sunday evening in November the restaurant wasn't that crowded, yet they seated another party right next to us, bathroom was tiny, no heat, and no soap in soap dispenser, had to walk downstairs to first floor bathroom to wash my hands.
We had a reservation , but went an hour earlier. No problem , they had a table for us and sat us immediately.
I mentioned to our server that we were not in a hurry and she took her time in between courses so that we could relax and enjoy our dining experience. I had the sirloin steak and my husband had the pork chop special. Both were prepared perfectly. We always order the pomme soufflé .. they are unique to this restaurant and taste amazing! For desert we shared the key lime tart with coconut ice cream...forced ourselves to finish it because it was too good to leave. Love this place! They never disappoint. Always consistently excellent!!
I loved my experience at the Knife & Fork Inn. I saw the restaurant on Anthony Bourdain's show Parts Unknown. I knew immediately that I wanted to go here. It's a nice change from just staying inside the casinos for dinner. The food, ambiance, and service were all great.
If your looking for a classic restaurant in Atlantic City, Knife and Fork is the place to go. It was our first time in the Knife and Fork and we will surely return. Our waiter Casey was excellent, gave us some great menu suggestions, he was attentive without being over bearing. Great dessert menu. All and all a great dining experience.
The service was quick and impeccable. I️ ordered the lobster tail and steak and the steak was tender and cooked the way I️ requested. However I️ was disappointed with the flavor of both. I’m not sure if it was the seasoning. I’ve had better. The cappuccino was amazing. All in all I’d go again.
We dined at Knife and Fork with our son from Virginia. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. My son remarked that the food was excellent and a good value compared to Virginia. We left passing on dessert because the portions were so large. Our server was very attentive. Can't wait to go back!
We started with French onion soup which had excellent flavor. I didn't think to ask for scissors to cut the cheese which I fought with until it was gone. The lobster was excellent as well as the king crab. The pork porterhouse was tough and had a very sweet sauce that ruined the meal for me. The serrated butter knife cut the meat better than the steak knife. My daughter shared some of the "bacon" appetizer. I think it was pork belly and it was absolutely superb. I could make a meal of two orders of the bacon. The Brussel sprouts were roasted nicely but lacked seasoning. The potatoes au gratin did not appeal to us either, but the manager was nice enough to reverse the charge for those two sides. I loved the French fried beet chips and they were a great addition to my lunch the next day. The deserts were outstanding, especially the bread pudding.
After our dining experience, we wondered how they received a trip advisor rating of 4 out of 29
A great place to eat, with great food and lots of history. Over 100 years old but has a modern kitchen, and the restaurant has been restored to its old beauty. Short cab ride from the hotels, great for dinner! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again.
The waitress noted that it was a "steakhouse" primarily... and one of our filets was pretty good. Not sure it had ANY seasoning on it, but it was well cooked and tender. Don't get your steak well done-- that one was completely flavorless. Yes, I know. But my daughter has been ordering well done steaks for over a decade and most at this price point are still quite tasty. This one didn't have ANY seasoning. Maybe that is their "thing" but most steakhouses have some kind of seasoned salt that they use.
We had been to the knife and fork several years earlier and had a wonderful dining experience, which included having a large lobster tail as part of a special anniversary. We decided to return again and found that no lobster tail was served alone... Dinner choices we selected were good but not exceptional. For an upscale restaurant, the meal did not reflect the costs..
Our server was honest about what we should and shouldn’t order based on other customer experiences. We appreciated that information. He also added a Happy Anniversary chocolate on the dessert we ordered. He was attentive to all our needs. The lamb chops were exceptional!
After years of meaning to get to the Knife & Fork we finally did. It did not disappoint! Perfect for an "old school" steak or lobster dinner, plus there area few surprises on the menu, too.
I had the corn & crab chowder as a starter, and it is as delicious as everyone says it is. My wife had the 3-bean soup which was rich and flavorful.
My wife's filet mignon was a perfectly cooked medium just as she likes it; my sirloin was juicy and flavorful and done medium rare just as I had requested. It isn't easy for the kitchen to cook steaks to a different done-ness and have them hit the table at the same time; they pulled it off without a hitch. The sides were delicious--the grilled asparagus was great.
Terrific atmosphere, and our fellow diners were all enjoying themselves but the place didn't get overly boisterous. The restaurant knew it was my birthday and had a surprise cake ready for us. Nice touch!
Great waitstaff; friendly and efficient service; and about 2/3 the price of the excellent but stuffy Vic & Anthony's steakhouse in AC. The Knife & Fork is worth the trip! We'll be back.
