Our server was delightful, and food was good , but dont look up st that hanging thing from ceiling , its loadedwith dust !
Needs a good cleaning
3* because the experience was all over the place. The venue itself is casual and very nice. Our waitress was engaging and sweet, but the kitchen and bar just couldn't get food and drinks out the doors in a reasonable time frame. Chicken wings were outstanding, onion soup was very good, salads were very good, ribs were good, but the roasted chicken was awful and had to be sent back. We waited a long time to talk about dessert and coffee, and finally just bailed on that idea and got the check, which also took too long. Maybe they were short-staffed, and there was a big crowd at the bar, so maybe we'll give it another try if it looks less busy. I'd recommend it for the foods we enjoyed, but with the caveat that you might be waiting for food and service.
The service is horrible. They had one waiter on the floor for over 6 tables and the poor guy was beyond overwhelmed. It took well over a half hour to get our food and our order was incorrect. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen or if they are short handed as well. It is a shame because the food was good but the poor service is just unacceptable. Very unorganized overall. Will not be returning.
Great for breakfast, we went twice and the server remembered us and what we wanted. Food was good and there was a lot.
Food was extremely bland, overpriced and poorly cooked.
If you’re looking for under seasoned, over cooked, BLAND over priced food then this restaurant is for you. Do NOT go here if you have the choice.
Good food but limited menu. Service was good though a little relaxed.
Food came out a little cold a few times and was just ok, what made our experience better was a young server with a delightful accent who could not have been sweeter!
it was easy to find and sooo glad it was open to the public and not just hotel guests!
Not a ton of options for dinner (usual American fare).
I had no room for dessert after eating my half bun, medium cooked, lettuce, tomato burger and fries! Oh, and a beer!
The food is overpriced. I made a reservation for Brunch. It's a limited menu. I thought it would have
been a menu of more choices. We ordered eggs benedict, blueberry pancakes, cobb salad, which was basically lettuce and turkey. There was no bacon or egg added to the salad. The last thing ordered was a
cheesesteak sandwich. Also, three coffees. Total bill.....$70 dollars later. Will not be back.
Service and ambience is was terrific. The food was just OK and portions were sparse. The price is very high for the food quality.
Great food! Our server Ari was fantastic! We had a great experience and we will definitely be back.
Took nearly 2 hrs to recieve my dinner ( half of which was cold) on a Thursday evening with half empty dining area. Better off driving 10 mins further for fast food unless you have all day to eat
Athena our waitress was outstanding. Her customer service skills made us feel wonderful, welcome and special. She should be highly commended.
Order three steaks, my husbands came out well done and cold. My daughters filet was cooked as she requested but no flavor and side dishes were cold. My filet was well done and I sent it back, waitress I'm sure is a very nice young lady but didn't seem to care that my family ate while I waited. Second stake was not cooked medium rare and there was no flavor. My son ordered chicken fingers and French fries and since it was only available on the kids menu and the order was small he doubled the order that came out on two separate plates for one person. It was a $200 bill that was not worth it and there was absolute no care by the staff. While they did take the cost of my stake of the bill, which I didn't care about, our family dinner was not enjoyable. I would not recommend.
Service was very slow, we got appetizers about an hour after bring seated, the food was ok if you are starving. The kids' chicken fingers and zucchini sticks were overcooked (breading was very dark brown looking).
We ordered steaks cooked medium. When they put it on the table we knew it wasn’t cooked properly. My wife’s filet mignon came out raw. We asked to cook it more and it came back the same. After that we asked them to butterfly it and it came back very WELL done. My strip steak came out “closer” to medium but still needed to be recooked.
They took my wife’s off the bill but we would have much rather paid and not had an issue.
Food was terrible. Meatloaf virtually inedible . Crudités old. (Celery should be crisp, not wobbly.).
Service is slow and horrible. The entire staff needs to be trained. Horrible food as well. So over priced fir the area. Save your money and go to McDonald’s
The food and service was amazing! Wonderful staff, and it was right upstairs from our hotel. Would definitely go there again!
We were upset to learn that breakfast was a buffet and not the normal menu. The “buffet” was very small- scrambled eggs, potatoes (which were cold), bacon/sausage, and waffles/pancakes. There were some pastries as well, but nothing was like WOW. You could order omelets, which were good. Otherwise I was not impressed.
We live up in the area of the restaurant, so we know that the views and setting are very nice.
The service and ambiance was above average but the food was mediocre.
In my experience, it was a disappointment.
The server was sweet and kind. However, the food was terrible, and it was a long wait to get everything. I do not recommend, especially for what you're paying.
If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would. Where to begin? First, we ordered the fried Mac and cheese as an appetizer. The menu said Mac and cheese with marinara sauce. We don't eat pork. One bite and it was obvious there is bacon in the fried Mac and cheese. This should have been labeled as such.
I ordered a burger cooked medium. I got a well done burger. My wife ordered the lasagna- it was awful! It had soggy bread crumbs on top. She is a lover of all things cheese and this had the worst tasting mozzarella and ricotta cheeses on it. It didn't even taste like cheese. Worst of all, she could taste freezer burn.
This is objectively bad food at any price, but the meal was not cheap.
Also the keg of the beer I was going to order was kicked, and the soda was $4! Bottled beer was $5. Help me understand how a restaurant can charge $4 for a fountain soda.
Would not recommend.
I don't usually write yelp reviews. This might be my first - but this experience warranted a review.
My girlfriend and I were at the grand cascade resort. We made a reservation at Kites. I ordered the burger, which was good and my girlfriend ordered the buffalo chicken focaccia, which was terrible. The chicked was poor quality and every thing was cold. It wasn't until we were done eating the my water got refilled. When we told the waitress about my girlfriend's meal she made no remarks, so asking if she wanted something else and no attempt to take it off the check. Stay clear. There are better alternatives outside the resort 5 minutes away and have the price.
Food was excellent as always. Will be returning again soon.
Considering the cost of crystal springs and the cost of the items on the menu, I was very very disappointed. I never write reviews, particularly poor ones, but really had high expectations being that the resort itself is very popular and raved about. The prime rib was fatty, the potatoes lacked taste. The penne vodka tasted like Jar sauce. My son's chicken fingers were good. Service was very mediocre. Took a while to get a drink. Since it's the only restaurant on premises at that hotel, we had no choice but to return for breakfast. My omlette was okay. My son's waffle had a sour after taste which we sent back, and my husband had the eggs Benedict which was so gross. The egg was terrible. If we were to return we'd look to dine at the other hotel.
The food pretty good and while our server was very nice we did a lot of waiting. We went for prime rib night. The rib was cut thin, I had mashed potatoes and broccoli rabe which I enjoyed. They forgot to give us our salads and they brought them out after our main course was served. Ice cream was the dessert and was very icy. The restaurant wasn't very crowded when we got there and they had a live band playing.
Kites restuarant is nicely located in the Minerals hotel. We were greeted quickly, sat quickly because no one was seated. I had my so with me, 7 years old. Did not have crayons for him. The seat was in the sunlight and no way to shade.
Food options were limited and expensive. I was not advised of the upcharge for my fries. My 18.00 burger didn't come with any. I saw our server one time the whole time after food was served by a runner. My burger was made wrong. Couldn't ask for other condiments. My sons pizza was gross. The drinks were good, but expensive. 14.00 for non top self martini and 10.00 for a well drink
We will not go again.
Waitress was excellent. Food was god awful and very expensive! Not worth it.
My daughters and I had a wonderful time at Kites. Our waitress was beyond fantastic! The food was great, but our waitress made the experience for us! The atmosphere was nice, but not too stuffy. We weren't the only table with children, but it didn't feel like a night out at a kiddie restaurant.
The food was ok. Dinner and lunch menu was the same. Stayed at Minerals Hotel for two nights but had to go out for dinner the second night for better food.
Took the kids to minerals hotel for long weekend. So we ate at Kites. First time. Our server was so nice and helpful. Kids loved her. We would come back.
Mother daughter get away
We were unsure about having dinner there after reading various reviews. However, dinner on our 28th anniversary was a hit. Waitress was very nice. The bartender kept trying to locate the best wine I was looking for. Our penne vodka with shrimp and hamburger was very tasty. Alot for the price. I recommend it.
The salmon dish was incredible! The best i ever had!
Kites was an incredible place to eat. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our food and time there.
Great location and great view. The food was not fresh and the waiters forgot about our requests. I asked for Rye bread and kept getting white bread. Extremely overpriced.
While the food was decent, and the restaurant is nicely decorated and pleasant, the service is so terrible it might as well be self service. The hostess had no idea what was going on, took 15 minutes past the reservation time to get seated, even though the table was set up when we arrived (10 minutes early). Waitress was very slow to serve and not attentive to the table AT ALL. Had to go up to the bar to get another glass of wine, which is unacceptable. The bartender, however, was very nice and quick to serve. Only plus to the experience.
Prime rib was very fatty and more like a steak. Waitress was extremely courteous and professional.
