We will unfortunately have to cancel your reservation if you do not notify us that are more than 10 minutes late.
Good breakfast menu and service was quick and friendly. Casual atmosphere with diverse crowd and decent noise level. Very comfortable environment.
The food is really good! I've been here about 3 times and I would come back.
There was only one waitress for the dining room. Although she was a pleasant, young lady, she clearly needed help. In addition to our party of 5, there were three other groups of diners that she was tending to. I think it is a major problem when your food is served to your party but no one has silverware. Also, we had to ask for napkins and when they were brought out there were not enough for our party.
Food is fresh and good but change to many items on menu and no specials. Staff is very accommodating and I frequent there often
The staff graciously accommodated our party of 7. The menu had a wide array of delicious options, it was difficult to choose. The food took some time to prepare (maybe 15 minutes), as it was made to order. It was very comfortable to wait, and everyone really enjoyed their lunch. The desserts looked amazing, we didn't have time, but we'll be back!
Love this place. Food is well prepared and there are selections you don’t find anywhere else.
The food and overall experience at Kitchenette was great as always. It’s our go to brunch spot because they offer everything, eggs, sandwiches, waffles, pancakes! My sister wanted to get a simple waffle with some strawberries which wasn’t on the menu but they made it anyway without any hassle! Love going back here :)
My parents and I had a reservation for a late lunch. The hostess was sitting outside on a bench as if she were a customer waiting so we were surprised when she asked about our reservation. We were seated immediately and the server got our orders. The wait for the food was long and when they arrived, they were not what we ordered (wrong side dishes) and the server never got us utensils. We had to flag down someone else who took her time setting up another table with utensils before she came over to us. The food was ok (fruit pancakes, vegetarian soup & salad, pastrami sandwich). The seating area is very cramped and loud. Even though we walked right by our server on the way out, she did not even acknowledge us. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Cute place. Delicious home cooked food and baked goods. Need more places like this in NYC!
Staff was a scattered at the 8:00 opening and not ready for seating. Did not seem to note my reservation.
Loved Kitchenette - will be back for sure! FRESH salad, amazing omlette.
We had a reservation but they don’t take reservations, nor do they have a list, so there was no point in a reservation and way of telling who was next up for a table. We decided to leave and find a reservation elsewhere, as there were at least 10 people waiting ahead of us. This is not a good practice for business.
We waited over 30 minutes for salads, and when they finally came, the salmon on one of the salads was obviously spoiled. Everyone at the table could smell it. I certainly won’t be going back.
Daughter’s birthday
The positive : food was really good. Really liked my eggs on a biscuit. My friends also enjoyed their food and looking at other tables food — it also looked sooo good.
The negative- don’t bother making reservations... won’t be honored. It’s a popular place so we made 1pm reservation. We were there on time and for 50 minutes they said it would only be a few minutes more.... 50min!!! They kept calling for tables of 2 (we were 3). We were getting annoyed and when we asked why bother making reservations on OpenTable if they won’t be honored the man behind the counter said.. I don’t know anything about tbat site and it’s beyond my pay grade.
Since we were waiting so long they should have offered us a cup of coffee or a free drink... or an extra biscuit or something... but they didn’t .
Also, surprisingly they didn’t bring out the drink menu... we had to ask.... the table next to us saw us get drinks and so they asked... shouldn’t that be obvious to the wait staff? Most restaurants make $$ on drinks.
Food was way undercooked and we waited an inordinate amount of time for it. We ordered french toast and pancakes. Both way undercooked and cold and the meal was over $45 for 2 breakfast entrees. Side order of bacon also undercooked and insanely greasy , no crispiness. In short , they should really pay attention to cooking the food properly and not resting on their laurels. This is plain thievery!
It's freezing in the restaurant. I've been a few times, and that's always the case.
The food was amazing. We made a reservation and still waited about 30 minutes which was hard with small children. But the meal was worth it. Strawberry butter to die for and a churro waffle. Genius.
Great food. One of the best brunch spots in Harlem.
We loved this place! The service was great and food fantastic!
The chicken and waffles was an amazing dish ! And my boyfriend loved his pancake, scrambled eggs, and bacon.
Had breakfast for lunch. Enjoyed the strawberry butter on fluffy toasted biscuit. Potatoes didn’t wow me. Eggs were good. Linzer tart was delicious, light and buttery but needed more jam.
I used to come here a lot; it was a vibrant neighborhood spot, with good well-priced food and a cool ambiance. The service was never great, but it was absolutely tolerable. Haven't been for a while; came with a friend. Deader than dead as an environment: no one else there, a peculiar cleaning fluid smell permeated the place, there were people standing at the counter in front, but no one to take an order or anything. Given that we were the only folks there, it was a remarkable amount of time before anyone remembered to help us. The food was ok, nothing great. And it was too expensive for all that.
I'll not be back. (Maybe it was just a really off night, but still...)
The food was great. Good.portions
Was a chilly breeze in the larger room but wasnt too bad
Our server was great! Only complaint is only Americano decaf coffee is served at $3.75 a cup-NO FREE REFILLS!
Good but not great for vegans. Veggies on the menu were very good. Thanks for the great service!
This was an awful experience. We had a reservation, but it didn't matter. The hostess kept vanishing. She would disappear and return but was never polite to the customers that were cramming into the space to put their names down. I know this restaurant is small, so I didn't mind the cramming by the hostess station, but it was the hostess attitude and constant leaving her station. When my friend and I were finally seated in the back after waiting for over 20 minutes we were shocked to see empty tables. We had no idea why we were not seated right away. We then sat for another 20 minutes as no one came to our table. We finally asked a waitress if should would take our order and she said it wasn’t her and she would get someone. When the waitress finally came she said let me bring you over water we declined saying we would just like to take our order. After receiving the food, we were so disappointed. The food was not worth it. After eating our meal, we asked for the check, that took forever and then after getting the check waited another 15 minutes for the waitress to pay. We finally got up and brought the check over to the register. We asked to speak with a manager and was told no manager was there which was not surprising. We will never go back.
VERY pricey for “diner food”. A side of toast (2 pieces) was $4.50. Will not be back.
We booked this as an option for downtown near the 911 memorial. Not knowing the city- it came up when googled as close. It was a 30 min cab ride away and in Harlem in this little dingy place. We did not stay. They said the one in downtown closed 3 years ago. Strange how it let me make a reservation/had great reviews/and came up first on google. major disappointment
The food at Kitchenette is always delicious. I keep forgetting, though, that their brunch drinks are sub-par. We ordered a bellini, a mimosa and a sangria. They were all watery and the sangria was just not sangria.
One of the best breakfasts in the city, which fortunately they serve until 4. Love the biscuits plus their cakes are to die for - especially the carrot cake which is one of the best ANYWHERE!
Service, fantastic. Food was flavorful and served hot. Perfect brunch spot!
Food was yummy but service non-existent, and we were one of three tables that morning.
The food is always good and the staff so nice AND some of the the best GREAT cakes, pies & cookies
Excellent breakfast
Christmas breakfast
The staff was very patient, helpful in choosing meal options, great food, friendly atmosphere.
Brunch was so delicious but it was impossible to get refills of water, coffees on time or extra napkins . The restaurant was tight too, would suggest to go on an off hour to get better service and more space
Always enjoy the comfort food,, lively and warm ambience and attentive, friendly service!
