Homey and delicious!
We were visiting our daughter st Columbia and had brunch with her. Meal was delicious! Great experience!
Mac and cheese was excellent, we ordered it as a side but next time it will be my main. Cornbread was oh-so-good and made with butter, I just wanted more and more of the cranberry butter that comes on the side. Service was great, staff was knowledge about what items were vegetarian. Tables are extremely close together. Reasonably priced, but not cheap.
they were dealing with some maintenance issues and did not bother to notify me that they were closed... could have, would have, should have done better...
Meh. Nothing special
The Brunch has a common outlook, but it is very delicious.
Great food and service but be sure to have a reservation as wait can be long at times
There's nothing more rewarding when you find a local gem, in your neighborhood, that's affordable, and has amazing food - The Kitchenette is such a find! The selection of daily items along with specials makes this a wonderful early spot for brunch or lunch. The only downside is the very, very cramped seating - you WILL be crammed in if they are busy. But then again, what Manhattan place ISN'T? Go here - check them out, you won't be sorry!
Solid restaurant and with delicious food. I would go back
Great breakfast and excellent service. Churro waffles were outstanding!
Great home cooked food. Friendly staff. Delicious desserts. The best kind of comfort
food. Reasonable prices. Cozy, quirky, lovely.
We all enjoyed our meals, our waiter was cheerful and solicitous, and the atmosphere was relaxed and upbeat, not too noisy/rowdy.
The rating on Open table is far higher than the food quality and value for money. The spot is average.
I used to love this place. It has a charm to it but the food isn’t really anything special anymore and seems pricey for what it is. The potatoes that comes with many breakfast items are clunky and heavy with no crispness- I think they are boiled. The biscuit didn’t have much flavor and I didn’t like the jam it came with. This place needs a facelift- it looks old and tired. The waitstaff was very nice and accommodating though. And you get a nice little discount if you pay cash.
Thanksgiving prix fixe dinner at Kitchenette was amazing. Funky little place at 123rd and Amsterdam produces high quality food in a 1950's atmosphere. Meal started with tomato soup --a bit too tangy for my taste but my husband enjoyed it. Our dinner plates were piled high with the most tender turkey, tasty cornbread/sausage stuffing, bread and apple stuffing, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, dijon green beans, acorn squash, and cranberry sauce. Had to take half the plate home, along with the fabulous pumpkin pie.
I had reservations for Thanksgiving dinner and it was very enjoyable and peaceful. Reservation was at 3:00 pm and I was being served at 3:15 pm
Thank you for making this a very special day
Balloon inflation for thanksgiving parade
Picked this place a on a whim and was so happy I did. The food was fantastic and the service really great. It's a small space, and if you don't have a reservation, you will wait a while for a table on the weekend, but it is worth the wait; and you can't beat $5 mimosas/bloody mary's on Saturday and Sunday. Will definitely be going back.
really great and attentive staff. The food was tasty with a decent menu options.
Loved it overall but despite repeated requests it was FREEZING at our table. Lived our server but needed more help. Also at brunch coffee/tea needs to be served asap
I love this place so much. Never had a bad meal here. Looking forward to my next time.
Lil hole in the wall joint - these type of places always blow me away w/ gr8 service and food. Kitchenette was no different.... good southern home cook food (I'm from SC so I think I'm pretty good judge). Fast service and friendly server who knew his menu and recommended a very tasty bfast dish (see pics below). Defitively would return when in area and spread the word.....
Great food, excellent service. The pancakes are out of this world.
On a first visit to Harlem we were looking for a breakfast spot and couldn't have found a better place. Great service and staff.
We had breakfast on a Sunday morning with a reservation. We were seated promptly, but the server was quite slow to come and greet us. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, and a biscuit. The eggs were over cooked and the biscuit was hard and tasteless, and the bacon was undercooked. The noise level was so high, it was hard to carry on a conversation.
I don't think I will be back.
We had a family get-together with some of our kids and 2 young grandkids, ages 2 and 4. The waitstaff was very friendly and accomodating. Fun retro place to eat.
Great brunch spot, I come here very often :)
My friend and I were celebrating with our daughter's for their 19th birthdays. It was a great start to our touring day in the city. The hostess was friendly and helpful about whether or not we should visit St. John Divine Church before our reservation time. (She was right, it was best that we ate breakfast first!) Our waitress was extremely helpful with our menu choices and pleasantly suggested that we didn't fill up too much before our main meal. The baked goods were delicious and so were our meals. We loved how the restaurant was decorated. I look forward to returning!
They give a 10% discount for cash! And the food is good.
I'm a regular at Kitchenette because of the food and the ambiance. Today I went with a group of three women for brunch and we had to wait a pretty long time for food. However, one of the hostesses came over and said she noticed that we had been waiting for a long time and offered us biscuits while we waited. But our food came out right then, and we all thought that was that. But as we were leaving she offered us cupcakes again apologizing for the long wait. It was a small gesture but showed their charisma for customer service.
