Kitchen West Restaurant - The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch
The restaurant is casual and modern with a vibrant open kitchen and wood-fire grill. A selection of regional wines, craft beers and seasonal cocktails shine a spotlight on the local wine-making, brewing and distilling scene.

We went during restaurant week and I ordered from restaurant week menu and my husband from the regular menu. Drinks were great- cocktail with gin and draft beer. Salad had great dressing. Salmon was moist and side of spinach with lentil was very flavorful. Pork chops from regular menu were excellent. We shared the smores which again was great. Service was outstanding! Highly recommend it and we will be back!
I took my mom there for brunch to celebrate her birthday. We consider ourselves foodies and, being from NM, we always choose southwestern dishes when given the option. The food was amazing!! To top off the great service and food, the staff brought out a small cake for my mom that was so beautiful and delicious! It really made my mom’s entire day! We will definitely be recommending and going back!
Mother and daughter weekend. The food was good but too much salt. Great staff and service was super!!
My suggestion is to make the portions smaller.
The first night the waiter did not offer us the special and the portions were just too big. Second night we were offered the special, Antonio, and it was better portions, still large!! Their Nan/ Indian bread was absolutely delicious!!!! Salmon and filet and brisket was also delicious!!!!!!
Lunch with a friend was great. Not super busy early in the week. Servers are friendly and attentive. Food was abundant, and local sources, bar was available too. We both needed carryout. A hidden gem at the resort.
Food is awesome. Big portions. I had the flatiron and it was great. My wife had the brisket burger, which was a meat fest! Bacon on top of brisket on top of a burger. (she couldn't finish it). Place wasn't cheap, but I wouldn't expect a deal at a nice resort in Scottsdale. Good atmosphere. Servers were friendly.
Terrible service. Not busy. Prices high. Waitress doesn’t know the menu lied and then blamed it on being busy only 3 tables occupied in restaurant
Absolutely wonderful service - they went above and beyond. Somewhat limited menu - but delicious food and very creative presentation. Look forward to returning!
Amazing food & service. Everything we ate was awesome. The portion were large so take your appetite.
The music and service were incredible, as was the food. A bit pricey and the extremely limited menu for Valentine's day was disappointing, but overall we had a great experience! I thought the limited menu would make the wait time for the food shorter, but I was mistaken. The quality of the food was definitely worth the wait, though.
Excellent food. Valentines Day menu was exceptional!
Great service and food. Very loud as the dining area is close to the bar which was loud as well as the music.
The sea bass was exceptional!
Made an early reservation to celebrate our folks 50th wedding anniversary. Called to say we were running 15 minutes late and whoever I spoke with was annoyed that we were going to be tardy. Once at the restaurant we were seated immediately as there were plenty of open tables. Our waiter David was excellent. Very attentive and professional. All our dinners were delicious. The sea bass special was excellent. I only wish sides were included in price of dinner. This a a very nice special occasion restaurant.
Christmas brunch for our family was fantastic in every way.
We had a pre-Christmas celebration with family in Phoenix. The ambiance was perfect. The food was was fantastic!!! Huge kudos to the Chef!! Thank you for helping make great memories on our visit!!!
Holiday brunches are awesome now.! We miss the weekly brunches of past but the special holiday offerings are top notch. We have been going here since the original opening of the Conference Center. The staff has always been very friendly and provide excellent service. Many superb choices of seafoods, meats, side dishes, desserts and champagne. Well worth the price of admission!
The food combinations were delicious and the personalities of the staff enhanced our dining experience. Amy was such a joy as she provided professional yet personable service. The wine selection was very well chosen and dessert was incredible!
It was a wonderful place! The atmosphere and service were amazing. The food was just ok. I traveled a distance because I was told I should try the dining experience.
Looking for a nice restaurant, but was too late in making a res at my fav restaurant, so decided to give Kitchen West a shot. I was disappointed that it was a hotel restaurant, but they more than made up with it by serving absolutely fantastic food. The ceviche was superb. The bread and cherry jam quite creative. Not your normal bread, and it rocked. A spectacular cod(with beets), perfectly cooked scallops. The staff was happy and prompt. I gotta say, I don’t normally choose a hotel restaurant(Vegas excluded), but I left extremely happy with Kitchen West. Worth a look. They had live entertainment at the adjacent bar. One of the Cardinal football players was there, but that doesn’t account for the loss to Seattle. He left early with his unattractive date(at least that’s what I said to my wife).
Amy did a great job! Will come again when in Scottsdale.
The chilean sea bass was superb as was the sauteed spinach.
The food is excellent. My husband and friend both had the black cod and I had the scallops. Wonderful dishes. The salmon board and mushroom flat bread are the best.
The trend in dining everywhere seems to be casual and noisy. I miss the more elegant Palm Court. The food was excellent and the service was fine but Kitchen West is trying to be all things for all guests. I long for a more refined dining experience. I’m not sure that exists anymore.
First time and I will return. I have to say the seafood was very fresh. I had the shrimp ceviche and bourbon braised salmon. The ceviche had kick to it while not being too spicy and the salmon was absolutely delicious. If you like cilantro you will love the cilantro rice. Really attentive service and a very relaxed environment. I am so glad I found this place!
Had a wonderful evening. The food was great and our waitress Amy was wonderful!
Not much choice for vegetarians especially if you don’t eat eggs. Pasta and all deserts have eggs.
Flat bread is basically a salad on a large pita bread.
We spent the weekend at McCormick ranch resort so we thought we'd try the restaurant there, the salmon dish was pretty good, the brick chicken was mushy and the Creme Brule wasn't smooth like it should be. All in all it was OK but we ate somewhere else the second night and I wouldn't make a special trip to eat there again.
Very expensive and very mediocre food. You are better off leaving the Resort and dining in town
Excellent food, great service in a beautiful resort setting. A definite do-over!!
We were visiting Scottsdale and I bought a certificate from Travelzoo for this restaurant. Had never been before and am afraid would never return. Lovely location, but other than being the hotel's restaurant - nothing special.
This was our first time at Kitchen West, a Travelzoo special. Everything was top notch. David, our server, made great recommendations for food and wine. The atmosphere was cozy and comfy and we were able to enjoy our food at a leisurely pace. The meatball appetizer was yummy and paired nicely with the complimentary flatbread and tomato jam. The filet stack was cooked perfectly and oh so tender. The only slight disappointment was the short supply of brownie in the brownie-dessert-in-a-jar. But the healthy serving of a nicely-done creme brûlée made up for it. If you go: don't ask Siri for directions. She'll have you making U-turns on McCormick before you're even at the resort!
This was a return visit and enjoyed
My family and friends (sometimes 5 of us,sometimes 25) always pick a special place for Easter Brunch after morning church services. We have been to the Bolders, Phoenician, Arizona Biltmorr etc and enjoyed the Brunch at The Scottsdale Resort every bit as much. Food snd service was great, room was beautiful and all and all very enjoyable experience
Excellent food and service. Our friends from out of town loved it.
Food was very bland and ordinary. Nothing that couldn’t be knocked together at home. The dessert looked like it cane from a can. Knowing that none of the meals were finished they did not make an effort to make it right
Only problem it was freezing in the restaurant. Wear something warm.
Good food, good service, good wine
Amy was great fun. Salmon appetizer was great. Steak frittes was delicious.
We had the chicken with farro, the salmon and meat loaf with mashed potatoes and succotash. The meatballs were our shared appetizer and the complimentary flatbread was delicious. Antonio was our server last time. He was terrific. This time, our server was David. He too was efficient, courteous and helpful. Antonio recognized us from last time and greeted us. Just a third very pleasant experience!!
Not a place to go if you want quiet time and romance. It’s more like an expensive cafeteria attached to a loud bar. The food was marginal at best, partially burned. The menu was minimal. You can do better at a chain restaurant.
